APC ER6202 — a 42U, 600 mm wide, 1000 mm deep server cabinet that arrives assembled
The APC ER6202 is the Easy Rack 600mm/42U/1000mm from the Easy Rack range by APC by Schneider Electric: a 42U floor-standing enclosure, 1991 mm high, 600 mm wide and 1000 mm deep, delivered assembled with the roof, both side panels, four castors, four levelling feet and four baying brackets already on it. Wheel it off the pallet, roll it to the comms room, drop the feet and start racking. There is no bottom panel, which is deliberate — it is what lets you bring power and data up from a raised floor or a floor trunking without cutting anything.
Easy Rack is Schneider's value line, sitting below the NetShelter SX in the catalogue. It keeps the things that matter on a working cabinet — an EIA-310-E compliant 19-inch frame, a 1200 kg static rating, ventilated doors, keyed-alike locking — and leaves out the premium extras. For a Singapore SME server room, a branch comms room or a small colocation footprint, that is usually the right trade.
600 mm wide, 1000 mm deep: what that buys you
At 600 mm wide the ER6202 is the classic server-cabinet footprint: it fits through a standard door, lines up with a 600 mm floor tile, and bays side-by-side with other 600 mm Easy Rack and NetShelter cabinets. Vertical space for cable managers is tighter than on an 800 mm cabinet, so keep the 600 mm for server, storage and UPS loads with modest patching, and step up to the 800 mm Easy Rack ER8202 if the rack is going to be a patching hub.
The 1000 mm external depth gives a mounting-rail adjustment range of 191 mm to 838 mm between the front and rear rails, with the rails factory-set at 737 mm — the position Schneider specifies for standard rack-mount servers and UPS. That accommodates today's 1U and 2U servers, rack-mount Smart-UPS and Easy UPS units and their battery packs with room behind for power cords and PDUs.
Ventilated doors, locking side panels and a 1200 kg frame
Front and rear doors are perforated with 80.8% open area — the figure Schneider prints in the Easy Rack installation guide — so front-to-back airflow through the cabinet is close to that of an open frame. The front door is removable and reversible, so the hinge and lock can be swapped to the opposite side to suit the room. Doors and side panels are keyed alike and the keys are in the box. The side panels are split into an upper locking panel and a lower panel that can only be removed once the upper one is off, so a technician can get at one half of the cabinet without lifting a full-height sheet of steel.
The frame is rated for 1200 kg static and 600 kg dynamic (rolling on the castors), with 16-gauge posts, an 18-gauge front door and a 19-gauge rear door. In practice that means a cabinet full of 2U servers, a 3 kVA rack UPS and its battery packs is well inside the limit — but Schneider is explicit that the castors are for positioning only, and that the cabinet should be levelled on its feet and secured to the floor before equipment goes in.
Singapore installation notes
Net weight is 100.4 kg and it ships on a pallet at 106 kg, 1050 mm wide by 650 mm long by 2120 mm high, so plan the delivery route: a goods lift, a ramp, and a doorway taller than 2.12 m for the crate, or unpack at the loading bay and roll the bare cabinet (1991 mm high) through a standard door. The cabinet has two M6 earthing inserts top and bottom for bonding to the building earth, which Schneider requires. Compatibility & Fit
What fits in the frame
Any EIA-310 19-inch equipment: rack-mount servers, switches, patch panels, NAS, KVM and the rack-mount Smart-UPS and Easy UPS models SourceIT sells. The front and rear rails are square-hole, so cage nuts (50 in the box) and toolless rails both work. The rail-to-rail range of 191 mm to 838 mm covers everything from a shallow patch panel to a full-depth server with rail kit; set the rails once for your deepest chassis and leave them.
UPS and rack PDU pairing
A 42U cabinet in a Singapore server room is normally fed from one or two rack PDUs and a rack-mount UPS at the bottom. For a single-phase 16 A feed the AP7552 Rack PDU Basic 0U 16 A or the EPDU1010B-SCH Easy Rack PDU Basic 1U mount vertically in the rear corners without using a U; the AP7553 Rack PDU Basic 0U 32 A gives you a 32 A feed for a fuller rack. If you need per-outlet control the AP7920B NetShelter Switched Rack PDU is the usual choice, and the AP8853 NetShelter Metered Rack PDU or AP8858 NetShelter Metered Rack PDU give metering. Where two supplies are available, a rack ATS such as the AP4421 Rack ATS 10 A or the AP4423 Rack ATS 16 A at the top of the rack keeps single-corded switches alive when one feed drops. For the UPS itself, the Smart-UPS SMT1500RMI2UC in 2U or the Smart-UPS SRT3000RMXLI in 2U on-line double conversion are the common pairings for a cabinet this size, with the Smart-UPS RT SRTG5KXLI where the load approaches 5 kVA.
Monitoring
Fit a NetBotz Rack Monitor 250 (NBRK0250A) for temperature, humidity, door and leak sensing across the cabinet, or if the UPS has a SmartSlot, an AP9641 Network Management Card with an AP9335TH temperature and humidity sensor at the top of the rack is the lower-cost way to catch a failed air-conditioner over a weekend.
Room and floor
Allow clearance front and rear for the doors to swing and for a technician to work; Schneider's guidance for its cabinets is to keep the rear clear enough to open the door fully. The cabinet must be levelled on its feet and secured to the floor before it is loaded — the pallet shipping brackets can be reused as floor brackets. Baying two or more Easy Racks with the supplied brackets aligns them but Schneider states it gives only limited stability, so each cabinet still needs to be bolted down.
Choosing between the Easy Rack sizes
All three Easy Rack 42U cabinets at SourceIT share the same frame, doors, load rating and warranty. Choose ER6202 for a standard 600 x 1000 mm server rack, ER6212 when you need 100 mm more depth for long chassis or rear PDUs, and ER8202 when the rack is a patching hub that needs 800 mm of width for vertical cable management.

Does the ER6202 come assembled or flat packed?
Assembled. The ER-series part numbers without an FP suffix ship as a built cabinet on a pallet with the roof, side panels, doors, castors, feet and baying brackets already fitted. Schneider sells a separate flat-pack version of some sizes under an FP1 suffix for sites where the crate cannot get in; if your delivery route needs that, tell us before you order.
How much can it carry?
1200 kg static once it is levelled on its feet and bolted down, and 600 kg dynamic when it is rolled on the castors. A typical mixed rack of servers, switches and a 3 kVA rack UPS with two battery packs sits comfortably under 500 kg, so the limit is rarely the constraint — the floor loading and the lift are more often the question.
Are the doors perforated, and can I reverse the front door?
Yes on both. Front and rear doors have 80.8% open area for front-to-back airflow, and the front door is removable and reversible so the hinge and lock can be moved to the other side. Doors and side panels are keyed alike.
What is the usable depth between the rails?
The front and rear mounting rails adjust from 191 mm to 838 mm apart, and are factory-set at 737 mm, which is the depth Schneider specifies for standard rack-mount servers and UPS. The external depth is 1000 mm, so there is room behind the rear rail for 0U PDUs and power leads.
Is there a bottom panel or cable entry?
There is no bottom panel — the base is open, which is the usual arrangement for raised-floor rooms and for bringing cables up from floor trunking. For overhead entry the roof is removable. Brush-strip gland plates are not part of this part number.
Which rack PDUs and UPS fit?

How does the ER6202 differ from a NetShelter SX?
Easy Rack is the value line: same EIA-310-E frame, ventilated doors and locking, single-piece rear door, 1200 kg static rating.
