APC Temperature & Humidity Sensor
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Temperature & Humidity Sensor, RJ45, 3.9 m Lead (AP9335TH) - 2 Years Local Warranty
Rack Temperature and Humidity, Reported Through Equipment You Already Own
The APC Temperature & Humidity Sensor (AP9335TH) measures temperature and relative humidity in a data centre, server room or network closet and reports through an APC host device - a NetBotz appliance, or a Network Management Card 3 with environmental monitoring capability, both of which put the readings on your network.
It connects with a standard RJ45 lead 3.9 m long, so the sensor head can sit at the point that actually matters - the top of the rack, the cold aisle inlet, the shelf where the switch stack runs hottest - rather than wherever the host device happens to be mounted.
Humidity Is Not an Optional Reading in Singapore
Temperature alarms are the ones people fit. Humidity is the one that quietly does damage. Singapore's ambient relative humidity sits high year-round, and a comms cabinet that loses cooling accumulates moisture as well as heat. Sustained high humidity corrodes contacts and connectors and shortens sealed lead-acid battery life; very low humidity, in an over-dried computer room, raises static risk.
Measuring both from one sensor, with thresholds and alerting handled by a networked host - a Network Management Card 3 with environmental monitoring, or a NetBotz appliance - turns an invisible risk into an e-mail.
Plugs Into the AP9641, the AP9613 or a NetBotz Appliance
Schneider lists the AP9335TH as compatible with NetBotz appliances and with an NMC3 that has environmental monitoring capability - that is the AP9641. It also connects to the universal I/O ports on the AP9613 Dry Contact I/O SmartSlot Card, and to the universal sensor ports on the NetBotz Rack Monitor 250.
It will not work with the AP9640, which has no universal I/O ports. If you are buying a management card and a sensor together, specify the AP9641.
A Small Purchase That Closes a Real Monitoring Gap
Most SME server rooms in Singapore monitor the UPS and nothing else in the rack. Adding a sensor to an existing card costs little, needs no new management platform when the host card or appliance is already on the network, and gives you an early warning on the failure mode that most often takes out a comms cabinet over a public holiday.

Compatibility & Fit
What the AP9335TH plugs into. It is a sensor, not a standalone monitor - it always reports through a host device. Schneider lists compatibility with NetBotz appliances and with an NMC3 that has environmental monitoring capability.
| AP9641 | NMC3 with Environmental Monitoring - 2 universal I/O ports. This is the card to pair the sensor with. |
| AP9613 | Dry Contact I/O SmartSlot Card - universal I/O ports 1 and 2 accept the AP9335TH |
| NBRK0250A | NetBotz Rack Monitor 250 - 6 universal sensor ports, supports up to 42 wired sensors |
| AP9640 | Not compatible - the AP9640 has no universal I/O ports. Specify the AP9641 instead. |
Cable reach. The lead is 3.9 m, terminated RJ45. That is enough to run from a card in a UPS at the bottom of a rack to a sensing point at the top of the same rack, or across to an adjacent cabinet. It is not enough to cross a room - for wider coverage, use a NetBotz appliance with several sensors rather than one long run.
How many can I connect? Two per AP9641 or AP9613 (they have two universal I/O ports each). Six directly on a NetBotz Rack Monitor 250, which supports up to 42 wired sensors in total using its A-Link ports.
Rack PDU sensor ports. Schneider's published compatibility for the AP9335TH names NetBotz appliances and NMC3 cards with environmental monitoring. If you want environmental sensing on a specific Rack PDU model, ask SourceIT to confirm the supported sensor part number for that unit rather than assuming this one fits.
Package Contents & APC Environmental Sensor Ordering Information
In the box. Schneider Electric does not publish a package contents list for the AP9335TH that we can verify, so we do not reproduce one here. The sensor has a 3.9 m RJ45 lead. SourceIT will confirm the contents before you order.
Host devices for this sensor, in the SourceIT catalogue
| Model | Sensor capacity |
| AP9641 | 2 universal I/O ports; ships with an AP9335T temperature sensor already included |
| AP9613 | 2 universal I/O ports, plus 4 dry contact inputs and 6 output relays |
| NBRK0250A | 6 universal sensor ports; up to 42 wired and 47 wireless sensors |

Frequently Asked Questions — APC AP9335TH
Will the AP9335TH work with any APC network management card?
No. It needs universal I/O ports, which the AP9641 has and the AP9640 does not. Schneider's own description of the sensor names NetBotz appliances and an NMC3 with environmental monitoring capability. If you are ordering a card and sensor together, order the AP9641.
What does the "TH" in AP9335TH mean?
Temperature and Humidity. The AP9335T without the H is the temperature-only version of the same sensor. They are different part numbers and different products - the T is the one that ships in the box with an AP9641, and the TH is the one you add when you want humidity as well.
How long is the cable?
3.9 m, terminated RJ45. That is enough to run from a management card in a UPS at the bottom of a rack to a sensing point at the top, or into the adjacent cabinet. For coverage across a room, use a NetBotz appliance with multiple sensors rather than one long cable run.
How many sensors can I connect?
Two per AP9641 or AP9613, since each card has two universal I/O ports. A NetBotz Rack Monitor 250 has six universal sensor ports directly and supports up to 42 wired sensors in total.
Does the sensor send the alerts itself?
No - the host device does. Thresholds, e-mail notification, SNMP traps and logging are all configured on the network management card or NetBotz appliance the sensor plugs into, and the sensor supplies the readings. Note that the AP9613 Dry Contact I/O Card also accepts this sensor but has no network interface of its own, so it cannot send network alerts.
Why monitor humidity and not just temperature?
Because in Singapore's climate humidity is the slower, less visible failure mode. Sustained high relative humidity in an unconditioned comms cabinet corrodes connectors and shortens sealed lead-acid battery life, and a cabinet that has lost cooling gains moisture as well as heat. Temperature tells you about today; humidity tells you why the hardware aged faster than expected.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every APC AP9335TH sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the AP9335TH with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
