Dual-Socket 2U Flexibility at a Value Price
The Dell PowerEdge R550 is a 2U rack server with up to two 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors (up to 24 cores each) and 16 DDR4 RDIMM slots for up to 1 TB of memory at up to 2933 MT/s, built for organisations that want extra storage and expansion room without paying for a flagship platform. The R550 belongs to Dell's previous (15th) PowerEdge generation; the current-generation equivalent is the PowerEdge R760xs.
Room for Drives and Cards
Front bays take up to 16 x 2.5-inch or 8 x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA drives (up to 128 TB), with PERC hardware RAID, BOSS-S2 boot, three PCIe Gen4 slots plus one Gen3 slot and an optional OCP 3.0 network card.
Managed and Secured by iDRAC9
Every R550 ships with Dell's iDRAC9 controller, Quick Sync 2 wireless option and the OpenManage portfolio for remote monitoring and lifecycle management, backed by a Silicon Root of Trust, signed firmware, Secure Boot and System Lockdown.
