APC AR3104 — the half-height NetShelter SX: 24U, 600 mm wide, 1070 mm deep
The APC AR3104 is the 24U member of the NetShelter SX family from APC by Schneider Electric: 1198.5 mm high, 600 mm wide and 1070 mm deep, with the same perforated doors, split rear doors, locking side panels, roof, castors and levelling feet as the 42U AR3100 — just half the height. It is the cabinet for a branch office comms room, a lab bench, a retail back office, a clinic or any room where a full-height rack would not fit through the door, under the ceiling or into the budget.
Because it is a genuine SX, everything designed for the 42U enclosure fits it: the same rails, the same 0U accessory channels, the same bolt-down kit, shelves and blanking panels. What changes is the height and, at 89.1 kg net, the ease of getting it up a staircase.
Same 1070 mm depth and the same frame
The 1070 mm depth is deliberate — it is the full server depth, not a shallow network-cabinet depth, so a 24U AR3104 will take a 2U rack server on rails, a 2U or 3U rack UPS with battery pack and a pair of 0U PDUs behind, exactly as the 42U cabinet does. Schneider prints the same 1364 kg static and 1023 kg dynamic ratings for the 24U enclosure, with 16-gauge posts, a 16-gauge front door and 18-gauge rear doors, side panels and roof. A half-height cabinet full of servers is a heavy object, and the rating reflects that.
Perforated split rear doors and lockable everything
Front and rear doors are perforated for front-to-back airflow, the rear door is split so it needs only a narrow aisle to open, and doors and side panels all lock with keys supplied in the box. The side panels are half-height quick-release panels, so a single technician can lift one off. Roof and base are open for cable entry from above or below, and four 0U accessory channels in the rear take rack PDUs and vertical cable managers without using any of the 24U.
Singapore installation notes
Net weight is 89.1 kg; it ships on a pallet at 106.8 kg, 1322 mm high, 746 mm wide and 1156 mm deep, which fits in most passenger lifts. Schneider requires the cabinet to be earthed and secured to the floor before it is loaded; the AR7701 bolt-down kit is the matching part. Compatibility & Fit
What fits in the frame
Any EIA-310 19-inch equipment up to 24U. The 1070 mm depth means the AR3104 takes the same rack servers and rack UPS chassis as the 42U SX; it is not a shallow "network" cabinet. A typical branch build is a 2U rack UPS such as the Smart-UPS SMT1500RMI2UC at the bottom, a 0U or 1U PDU, a couple of 1U switches, a patch panel and a small server or NAS — well inside 24U with room left for growth.
Rack accessories that belong to this cabinet
The AR7701 bolt-down kit, the AR8122BLK 1U fixed shelf (114 kg) for a desktop switch or tower UPS, and the AR8136BLK toolless blanking panels all fit the AR3104 exactly as they fit the AR3100. All three are on this site.

AR3104 when the room, the door or the budget rules out a full-height cabinet; AR3100 for a 42U server rack on the same footprint; AR3340 for a wide, deep networking rack. Will a 24U cabinet take a full-depth server?
Yes. The AR3104 is 1070 mm deep — the same as the 42U AR3100 — so a 2U rack server on its rail kit fits with room behind for a 0U PDU and its leads. It is a server cabinet cut to half height, not a shallow wall cabinet.
How heavy is it and will it fit in a lift?
89.1 kg net, 106.8 kg on the pallet at 1322 mm x 746 mm x 1156 mm. That goes in most passenger lifts and through a standard door on its castors once unpacked.
What is the load rating?
Schneider prints 1364 kg static and 1023 kg dynamic for the 24U SX. In practice a 24U cabinet runs out of U long before it runs out of load capacity.
Are the doors perforated and lockable?
Yes. Front and split rear doors are perforated for front-to-back airflow and lock with the supplied keys; the half-height side panels also lock and lift off without tools.
Can I stack two AR3104 cabinets to make a 42U?
No — the AR3104 is not designed to be stacked. If you need 42U, buy the AR3100; two AR3104 cabinets bayed side by side is the alternative when height is the constraint.
Which UPS and PDU pair with it?
For a branch room the Smart-UPS SMT1500RMI2UC or a similar 2U rack UPS with a AP7552 Rack PDU Basic 0U 16 A or EPDU1010B-SCH Easy Rack PDU Basic 1U 0U PDU in the rear channel is the usual build. Add the AP4421 Rack ATS 10 A if two supplies are available.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty and a GST invoice?
