Mid-Range Wi-Fi 6 for Offices, Classrooms, Libraries and Retail
The RUCKUS R650 is a dual-band, dual-concurrent 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) indoor access point with 4x4:4 on 5 GHz and 2x2:2 on 2.4 GHz — six spatial streams in total. RUCKUS rates it at up to 2400 Mbps (802.11ax) and up to 512 clients per AP for medium-density deployments.
Standard Edition for Controller or Cloud Management
This is the standard edition (part number prefix 901-) for networks run from a RUCKUS SmartZone controller or cloud management. For controller-less Wi-Fi with no controller or subscription, the Unleashed part 9U1-R650-WW00 is the one to order.
2.5GbE Backhaul
One of its two Ethernet ports is 2.5 Gbps, so the R650 can pass more than a gigabit of Wi-Fi traffic to a multi-gigabit switch port. The second port is 1GbE.
BeamFlex+ and Built-In IoT
BeamFlex+ adaptive antennas with polarization diversity focus signal towards clients, and onboard BLE and Zigbee radios plus a USB 2.0 port let the AP serve IoT devices alongside Wi-Fi.
Supplied in Singapore with Local Warranty
RUCKUS sells the R650 with a limited lifetime warranty. SourceIT supplies it locally in Singapore with a GST invoice. Compatibility & Software Support
Management
This is the standard (non-Unleashed) edition, part number prefix 901-, for networks run from a RUCKUS controller or management platform. RUCKUS lists the R650 hardware as supported by SmartZone, ZoneDirector, Unleashed, standalone and cloud management. If you want controller-less Wi-Fi with no controller or subscription, order the Unleashed part 9U1-R650-WW00 instead.
Mixing with Other RUCKUS Gear
Wi-Fi 6 clients get the full 802.11ax feature set; 802.11a/b/g/n/ac devices remain supported. The 2.5GbE port only pays off on a 2.5GbE-capable switch port.
What It Is Suited To
RUCKUS positions the R650 for office buildings, K-12 classrooms, libraries and retail venues seeing more Wi-Fi devices, non-Wi-Fi IoT devices and bandwidth-hungry applications.

What is the difference between 901-R650-WW00 and 9U1-R650-WW00?
Same R650 hardware. 901- is the standard AP for SmartZone or cloud management; 9U1- ships with Unleashed (embedded controller, no controller or subscription needed).
Is the R650 4x4 on both bands?
No. It is 4x4:4 on 5 GHz and 2x2:2 on 2.4 GHz (six spatial streams). For 4x4:4 on both bands, see the R750.
What PoE does it need?
802.3at PoE+ (21.59 W) for full functionality. On 802.3af (12.25 W) it runs with reduced radio chains and the second port, IoT and USB disabled.
Do I need a multi-gigabit switch?
Not to run it, but the 2.5GbE port only pays off on a 2.5GbE-capable switch port.
What warranty do I get?
RUCKUS sells the R650 with a limited lifetime warranty; SourceIT supplies it with local support and a GST invoice.
