Mid-Tier Wi-Fi 6 for Classrooms, Offices and Medium-Size Venues
The RUCKUS R550 is a dual-band, dual-concurrent 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) indoor access point with 2x2:2 radios on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. RUCKUS rates it at up to 1774 Mbps (802.11ax) and up to 512 client connections per AP, built for rooms where the number of connected devices keeps rising.
SmartZone or RUCKUS One Managed
This is the standard edition (part number prefix 901-) for networks run from RUCKUS SmartZone controllers or RUCKUS One cloud management. For controller-less Wi-Fi, the Unleashed part 9U1-R550-WW00 is the one to order.
BeamFlex+ Adaptive Antennas
RUCKUS BeamFlex+ adaptive antennas choose from up to 64 antenna patterns to focus signal towards clients, helping keep throughput up in busy RF environments with many devices.
Converged AP with Built-In IoT Radio
The R550 has onboard BLE and Zigbee (one switchable IoT radio), two 1GbE Ethernet ports and a USB 2.0 port for future wireless add-ons, so it can serve IoT sensors as well as Wi-Fi clients from the same ceiling mount.
Supplied in Singapore with Local Warranty
RUCKUS sells the R550 with a limited lifetime warranty. SourceIT supplies it locally in Singapore with a GST invoice. The R550 does not include a power adapter, PoE injector or secure mounting bracket; RUCKUS recommends 802.3at PoE+ for full functionality. This is the standard (non-Unleashed) edition, part number prefix 901-, for networks run from a RUCKUS controller or management platform. The R550 hardware is supported by RUCKUS SmartZone, ZoneDirector, Unleashed, standalone and cloud (RUCKUS One) management. If you want controller-less Wi-Fi with no controller or subscription, order the Unleashed part 9U1-R550-WW00 instead.
Mixing with Other RUCKUS Gear
Wi-Fi 6 clients get the full 802.11ax feature set; 802.11a/b/g/n/ac devices remain supported. Use an 802.3at PoE+ switch port to keep the second Ethernet port, IoT radio and USB enabled.
