PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Cisco Catalyst 9130AX Series Wi-Fi 6 Access Point, Internal Antenna, S Domain (C9130AXI-S) — Local Warranty
Flagship Catalyst 9100 Wi-Fi 6 access point
The Cisco Catalyst 9130AXI (C9130AXI-S) is the top internal-antenna model of the Catalyst 9100 Wi-Fi 6 family, built for high-density spaces such as auditoriums, lecture halls, open-plan offices and conference floors.
8x8:8 on 5 GHz
The 5 GHz radio supports 8x8 downlink MU-MIMO with eight spatial streams, alongside a 4x4 MIMO 2.4 GHz radio. Cisco rates PHY data rates up to 5.38 Gbps (8x8 80 MHz, or dual 4x4 80+80 MHz on 5 GHz, plus 4x4 20 MHz on 2.4 GHz), with 20, 40, 80 and 160 MHz channels.
Dual-radio or tri-radio operation
Flexible Radio Assignment lets the AP run in its default dual-radio mode (8x8 on 5 GHz plus 4x4 on 2.4 GHz) or in tri-radio mode, splitting 5 GHz into two 4x4 radios alongside the 4x4 2.4 GHz radio to serve more clients at once.
Cisco RF ASIC and CleanAir
A dedicated Cisco RF ASIC provides CleanAir interference detection and advanced spectrum analysis without using a client-serving radio.
5 GbE multigigabit uplink
A 100/1000/2500/5000 Mbps multigigabit Ethernet port provides up to 5 Gbps of backhaul to a compatible mGig switch. An integrated Bluetooth Low Energy 5 radio and USB 2.0 port (4.5 W) support location and IoT use.
Singapore regulatory domain (-S)
The -S suffix is the Cisco regulatory-domain variant supplied for Singapore.

Compatibility & Software Support
Controllers and management
Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers (Cisco IOS XE 16.12.1 with AP Device Pack or later). Cisco's datasheet also lists AireOS 8.10.x or later.
Embedded Wireless Controller
Cisco has separately announced end-of-sale for the Embedded Wireless Controller (EWC) software running on Catalyst 9100 Wi-Fi 6 access points: end-of-sale 29 November 2024, last date of support 30 November 2029, with IOS XE 17.15.x as the final supported release. This affects the controller-on-AP capability only, not the access point hardware; Cisco's recommended path is to run the AP in lightweight (CAPWAP) mode with a Catalyst 9800 controller, or move to a Meraki cloud-managed deployment.
Regulatory domain
The -S suffix is the Cisco regulatory-domain variant supplied for Singapore. The regulatory domain fixes the permitted channels and transmit power, so the unit must join a controller configured for the matching country code; Cisco does not support moving an AP to a different regulatory domain.
Lifecycle status
The Cisco "End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco and Meraki Wi-Fi 6 Indoor Access Points" (30 March 2026) lists the external-antenna C9130AXE models but does not list the internal-antenna C9130AXI. Cisco has not published an end-of-sale notice for C9130AXI-S, and its support page shows the series as available.
Warranty
Local Singapore unit with local warranty. Cisco's datasheet lists a limited lifetime hardware warranty for the Catalyst 9100 access points. For warranty claims, keep your SourceIT invoice as proof of purchase.

What the Part Number Covers
C9130AXI-S is the access point with internal antennas for the -S regulatory domain. Mounting hardware, PoE injectors and controller licensing are separate orderable items; Cisco does not publish an in-the-box list in the datasheet.

Frequently Asked Questions — Cisco Catalyst 9130AX
What power does the 9130AXI need for full performance?
Full 8x8 5 GHz plus 4x4 2.4 GHz with USB active needs 802.3bt Cisco UPOE (max 30.5 W). On 802.3at PoE+ the AP runs 8x8 with USB off, or 4x4 + 4x4 with USB on. 802.3af limits it to 1x1 radios.
What uplink speed does it support?
Up to 5 Gbps on the multigigabit port (100/1000/2500/5000 Mbps). Use a 5 GbE mGig switch port to get the full uplink.
What is tri-radio mode?
A software-selected mode where the 8x8 5 GHz radio operates as two 4x4 5 GHz radios alongside the 4x4 2.4 GHz radio, increasing capacity in dense rooms.
Is the C9130AXI-S end-of-sale?
Cisco's March 2026 Wi-Fi 6 indoor AP end-of-sale notice covers the C9130AXE (external antenna) models, not C9130AXI. No end-of-sale notice for C9130AXI-S has been published as of October 2026.
Which controller do I need?
A Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series controller on IOS XE 16.12.1 or later. The Embedded Wireless Controller option is end-of-sale (29 November 2024).
