Mainstream enterprise Wi-Fi 6
The Cisco Catalyst 9115AXI (C9115AXI-S) is an indoor Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point with internal antennas, positioned for offices, schools and retail floors that need 4x4 performance without the advanced RF features of the higher-end 9120 and 9130 models.
4x4:4 on both bands
Both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios support 4x4 downlink MU-MIMO with four spatial streams. Cisco rates the AP at PHY data rates up to 5.38 Gbps (160 MHz on 5 GHz plus 20 MHz on 2.4 GHz), with 20, 40, 80 and 160 MHz channel support.
Wi-Fi 6 efficiency
Uplink/downlink OFDMA, MU-MIMO, BSS colouring and Target Wake Time help the AP serve many simultaneous clients and extend battery life on IoT and mobile devices, while staying compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac clients.
Multigigabit uplink
A 100/1000/2500 Mbps multigigabit Ethernet port allows more than 1 Gbps of backhaul from a compatible mGig switch over existing cabling. The AP also includes an RJ-45 console port, a USB 2.0 port and an integrated Bluetooth 5 radio for location and IoT use cases.
Compact ceiling design
At 20.3 x 20.3 x 3.8 cm and 0.9 kg, the internal-antenna housing suits ceiling or wall installation in finished office spaces.
Singapore regulatory domain (-S)

Controllers and management
Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers (Cisco IOS XE 16.11 or later). Cisco's datasheet also lists AireOS 8.9 or later on the Cisco 3504, 5520, 8540 and Virtual Wireless Controller.
Embedded Wireless Controller
Cisco has separately announced end-of-sale for the Embedded Wireless Controller (EWC) software running on Catalyst 9100 Wi-Fi 6 access points: end-of-sale 29 November 2024, last date of support 30 November 2029, with IOS XE 17.15.x as the final supported release. This affects the controller-on-AP capability only, not the access point hardware; Cisco's recommended path is to run the AP in lightweight (CAPWAP) mode with a Catalyst 9800 controller, or move to a Meraki cloud-managed deployment.
Regulatory domain
The -S suffix is the Cisco regulatory-domain variant supplied for Singapore. The regulatory domain fixes the permitted channels and transmit power, so the unit must join a controller configured for the matching country code; Cisco does not support moving an AP to a different regulatory domain.
End-of-Sale notice
Cisco has published the "End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco and Meraki Wi-Fi 6 Indoor Access Points" (announced 30 March 2026), which covers C9115AXI-S. Milestones: End-of-Sale 31 December 2026; Last Ship Date 31 March 2027; End of SW Maintenance Releases 31 December 2027; End of Vulnerability/Security Support 31 December 2031; Last Date of Support 31 December 2031. Cisco names the Cisco Wireless 9174I Access Point as the migration product. Units bought before end-of-sale remain covered by Cisco support until the last date of support.
Warranty
Local Singapore unit with local warranty. Cisco's datasheet lists a limited lifetime hardware warranty for the Catalyst 9100 access points. For warranty claims, keep your SourceIT invoice as proof of purchase.

What the Part Number Covers
C9115AXI-S is the access point with internal antennas for the -S regulatory domain. Mounting hardware, PoE injectors and controller licensing are separate orderable items; Cisco does not publish an in-the-box list in the datasheet.

How does the 9115AXI differ from the 9120AXI?
Both are 4x4:4 Wi-Fi 6 APs with a 2.5 GbE uplink. The 9120AXI adds the Cisco RF ASIC (CleanAir spectrum analysis) and Flexible Radio Assignment with a dual 5 GHz mode; the 9115AXI is smaller and lighter and draws less power (max 20.4 W on PoE+).
Will it work on standard 802.3af PoE?
Yes, in reduced mode: both radios drop to 2x2, the uplink runs at 1 GbE and USB is disabled. Use 802.3at PoE+ for full function.
Which controller do I need?
A Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series wireless controller running IOS XE 16.11 or later. The Embedded Wireless Controller on the AP is end-of-sale (29 November 2024).
