The EB-805F is a commercial display projector rather than a meeting room unit. Epson specifies 5,000 lumens with a dynamic contrast ratio of over 5,000,000:1, which keeps a Full HD image vivid in a retail unit with the shop lights on, in a hotel or office lobby, or in a showroom with daylight through the glazing. The ultra-short throw lens reaches up to 130 inches diagonal from a very short distance, so the projector stays tight to the wall or fixture instead of consuming the floor area a retailer wants to merchandise.
360-Degree Projection onto Floors, Ceilings and Shaped Surfaces
The laser diode light source allows the EB-805F to be rotated 360 degrees in any direction — horizontally, vertically and rotationally — with no loss of brightness or image quality. That is what turns it into a creative signage tool: content can be projected onto a floor for wayfinding, onto a ceiling as part of an installation, or onto a shaped fixture. Black areas of the source image are not projected, so designers can build silhouetted, non-rectangular content and escape the rectangle a conventional display forces on them.
HDBaseT Plus Three HDMI Inputs for a Permanent Installation
An HDBaseT input alongside three HDCP 2.3 HDMI inputs lets the projector sit a long structured-cable run away from the source rack, which is how retail and lobby installations are actually wired once the player leaves the room. Two D-Sub 15-pin inputs, a composite input, RS-232C control and wired LAN complete the panel, and a USB Type B port carries USB Display, mouse and keyboard, control and firmware updates. Edge blending and Quick Corner allow several units to be combined across a wide or irregular surface.
20,000 Hours of Laser and a 20,000-Hour Filter Cycle
Epson rates the laser diode light source at 20,000 hours in Normal mode and 30,000 hours in Extended mode, with an air filter maintenance cycle of 20,000 hours, so a permanently installed unit needs almost no attention for years at a time. Start-up takes eight to ten seconds to the Epson logo with a 30 second warm-up, and shutdown is instant. Networked standby draws 2.0 W and energy-saving standby 0.5 W, which adds up meaningfully across a site running many signage projectors overnight.

Compatibility & Installation
Mounting, orientation and placement
The EB-805F weighs approximately 9.4 kg without its cable cover and measures 458 x 209.5 x 375 mm, so the mount and the supporting structure must be specified properly — this is a commercial fixture rather than a portable projector. The laser light source allows 360-degree installation: horizontal, vertical, inverted or rotated, with no brightness penalty, which is what makes floor and ceiling projection practical. Epson lists the ELPMB62 setting plate as the mounting accessory for this model.
What it connects to
Three HDCP 2.3 HDMI inputs plus an HDBaseT input cover both local sources and a long structured-cable run back to a source rack. Two D-Sub 15-pin inputs and a composite input keep legacy players usable. A USB Type B port carries USB Display, mouse and keyboard, control and firmware updates; two USB Type A ports read content from USB memory or connect an Epson document camera. RS-232C is available where a control system drives the installation.
Content, edge blending and creative projection
Black areas of the source image are not projected, so content can be shaped to a fixture rather than confined to a rectangle — the basis of most retail projection design. Edge blending allows two or more units to be combined across a wide wall or an irregular surface, and Quick Corner handles geometry where the surface is not square to the lens. Epson's Creative Projection app is supported for authoring and playing this kind of content.
Network and management
Wired LAN over RJ45 supports centralised monitoring and control of a fleet, which matters when signage units are spread across a site. Wireless LAN works through a USB Type A port using the optional Epson ELPAP11 module; that port is shared with memory I/O, so decide at design stage whether it is needed for USB content playback or for Wi-Fi. The projector supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac in both infrastructure and Wi-Fi Direct Access Point modes.

What is the difference between the EB-805F and the EB-800F?
We checked this against Epson Singapore's own published data rather than guessing, and the honest answer is that Epson publishes an identical specification set for the two models: same 5,000 lumens, same Full HD 1080p panel, same over 5,000,000:1 contrast, same 0.27 – 0.37 throw ratio, same HDBaseT and three-HDMI connector panel, same 9.4 kg body, and the same supplied and optional accessory lists. They are supplied under different part numbers — V11H923652 for the EB-805F and V11H923552 for the EB-800F. Before you order, tell us which part number your specification, tender or existing site standard calls for and we will quote that exact one.
Is this an interactive projector?
No. The EB-805F is a display and signage projector with no pens and no touch unit. Its USB Type B port lists an interactive function in Epson's connector description, but this is not a BrightLink interactive model and no pens are supplied. If you need writing on the projected image, look at the EB-770Fi or the EB-760Wi instead.
Can it be mounted upside down, sideways or pointing at the floor?
Yes. The laser light source allows the EB-805F to be rotated 360 degrees in any direction — horizontally, vertically and rotationally — with no loss of brightness or image quality. That is what makes it suitable for floor projection, wayfinding, ceiling installations and projection onto fixtures rather than flat walls. Use the optional ELPMB62 setting plate and specify the structure for a 9.4 kg unit.
What is HDBaseT for, and do I need it?
HDBaseT carries video, audio, control and network over a single shielded twisted-pair cable across a long distance, so source equipment can live in a rack rather than beside the projector. If the projector is more than a few metres from the player or head end — which it usually is in a retail unit or lobby — HDBaseT is the clean way to wire it. For a short local run, HDMI is simpler and there are three HDMI inputs available.
How large an image can it produce, and from how far?
Epson specifies 65 to 130 inches at 16:9 in the wide zoom setting, with the lens 39.2 to 80.3 cm from the surface, and 61 to 120 inches at 16:6. The throw ratio is 0.27 to 0.37. That is a true ultra-short throw geometry designed to sit close to the surface and out of the way of people and stock.
Does it need a wireless module?
Yes, if you want wireless. Wired LAN over RJ45 is built in. Wireless LAN works through a USB Type A port using the optional Epson ELPAP11 module, and that port is shared with memory I/O — so plan whether it is needed for USB content playback or for Wi-Fi. We can supply the ELPAP11 with the projector.
How much maintenance does it need in a permanent installation?
Very little. The laser diode light source is rated at 20,000 hours in Normal mode and 30,000 hours in Extended mode, and the air filter maintenance cycle is 20,000 hours (the replacement filter is the ELPAF56). Standby consumption is 2.0 W networked and 0.5 W in energy-saving mode, which adds up across a site full of signage projectors.
