Puts an Easy UPS On-Line on Your Network
The APC Network Management Card 3 for Easy UPS On-Line, 1-Phase (AP9544) is the card that fits the Intelligent Card Slot of the Easy UPS On-Line SRV and SRVL ranges. Fitted, it gives the UPS its own IP address, a browser interface, a command line and an SNMP agent, so you can see load, battery state, input conditions and the event log from your desk, receive e-mail and SNMP alerts when something changes, and shut servers down cleanly over the network before the battery runs out.
This is the Easy UPS family's own card. It is a different part from the AP9640 and AP9641 used in the Smart-UPS SmartSlot, and the two are not interchangeable - Schneider's compatibility chart is explicit that the AP9544 is the card for single-phase Easy UPS On-Line, and the AP9640/AP9641 are not.
Secure by Default: HTTPS, SSH, SNMPv3, Secure Boot
The AP9544 is an NMC3-generation design, and that shows in the security list. Encrypted access is HTTPS/SSL and SSH with up to 2048-bit keys, SNMPv3 sits alongside SNMPv1 for older monitoring systems, RADIUS authentication is supported, and the card enforces strong password rules with four access tiers - Administrator, Device User, Read-Only and Network-only. Firmware is protected by Secure Boot with a hardware root of trust, and every card includes a 12-month Secure NMC System subscription that keeps firmware current against new vulnerabilities. Up to eight web users and three command-line users can be logged in at once.
Gigabit Ethernet, Micro-USB Console, Optional Wi-Fi
Connection is a single 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 port with IPv6 support, plus a micro-USB console port for first-time configuration and troubleshooting. If the rack has no spare switch port, the optional APC AP9834 USB Wi-Fi device gives the card a wireless connection instead. The web interface is available in ten languages including English and Simplified Chinese.
Network Shutdown, EcoStruxure IT and Local Singapore Supply
The card is the network half of Schneider's PowerChute Network Shutdown, which lets one UPS shut down several physical or virtual servers gracefully when runtime runs short - the piece most SME server rooms in Singapore only discover they needed after the first long outage. It also reports into EcoStruxure IT, so an Easy UPS in a branch comms cabinet can be watched alongside the rest of the estate. Supplied and invoiced locally in Singapore with GST, with a 2-year APC by Schneider Electric warranty.

Compatibility & Fit
Which UPS units take the AP9544. Schneider Electric's UPS Network Management Card compatibility chart lists the AP9544 for single-phase Easy UPS On-Line with these prefixes and ratings: SRV 1 to 3 kVA, SRVL 1 to 3 kVA and SRV 5 to 20 kVA, plus the Easy UPS 1 Ph On-Line SRVS 1 to 3 kVA, SRVSL 1 to 3 kVA and SRVS 5 to 10 kVA. It is not for three-phase Easy UPS, and it is not for Smart-UPS - those use the SmartSlot cards.

The 0.9 power factor -E generation: SRV1KI-E, SRV2KI-E and SRV3KI-E towers, and the SRV1KRIRK-E, SRV2KRIRK-E, SRV3KRIRK-E and SRV3KRI-E rackmounts. The lithium-ion SRVL range: SRVL1KRILRK, SRVL2KRILRK, SRVL3KRILRK and SRVL6KRILRK. The 6 and 10 kVA units: SRV6KI, SRV10KI, SRV6KRIRK and SRV10KRIRK.
Bracket note. Schneider's chart says that for some SRV models - the list includes the SRV1KA, SRVPM5KRI and SRVPM6KRI families and their regional variants - an alternate bracket supplied in the AP9544 box must be fitted to the card before it goes into the slot. The bracket is in the box; it is a two-minute job, but read the card's installation sheet before you push it home.
What it replaces. Earlier Easy UPS On-Line units shipped with the APV9601 SNMP card as their network option. The AP9544 is the current NMC3-generation card for the same slot, with Gigabit Ethernet, SNMPv3, Secure Boot and the Secure NMC subscription that the older card does not offer. If you are unsure which card your UPS was supplied with, send us the UPS part number.
Not for Smart-UPS. The Smart-UPS SMT, SMX, SMC, SRT and SRTL ranges use the SmartSlot, which takes the AP9640 Network Management Card 3 or the AP9641 with environmental monitoring. The AP9544 will not fit a SmartSlot and the SmartSlot cards will not fit an Easy UPS Intelligent Card Slot. Choose the card by the UPS family, not by the feature list.
Sensors. The AP9544 has no Universal I/O port, so it does not accept the AP9335T or AP9335TH environmental sensors. If rack temperature monitoring is part of the requirement on an Easy UPS installation, a NetBotz appliance or a Rack ATS or Rack PDU with a sensor port is the way to add it.
What you can do once it is on the network. Browser and command-line management, SNMP polling and traps into your NMS, e-mail alerts, scheduled shutdown and reboot, event and data logs, firmware updates over the network, EcoStruxure IT reporting, and graceful server shutdown through PowerChute Network Shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC AP9544
Will the AP9544 fit my Easy UPS?
If it is a single-phase Easy UPS On-Line - SRV 1 to 3 kVA, SRVL 1 to 3 kVA, SRV 5 to 20 kVA, or the SRVS/SRVSL 1 Ph On-Line models - yes, per Schneider's compatibility chart. Every Easy UPS On-Line SRV and SRVL unit in the SourceIT catalogue takes it. Some SRV models need the alternate bracket that ships in the box fitted to the card first. Send us your UPS part number and we will confirm.
Can I use the AP9640 or AP9641 instead?
No. Those are SmartSlot cards for the Smart-UPS ranges and they do not fit the Easy UPS Intelligent Card Slot. Schneider's chart lists the AP9544 as the card for single-phase Easy UPS On-Line. If you have both Smart-UPS and Easy UPS units on site you will need both card types.
Which protocols does it support?
HTTPS/SSL, SSH (up to 2048-bit), Telnet, FTP, SNMPv1 and SNMPv3 with the APC PowerNet MIB, RADIUS authentication, e-mail notification, and IPv4/IPv6 over a Gigabit Ethernet port. Modbus TCP and BACnet/IP are not listed by Schneider for this card, so if your building management system needs them, tell us before you order.
Does it let servers shut down automatically?
Yes. Schneider describes the card's purpose as "reliable network-based shutdown of multiple servers", and it works with PowerChute Network Shutdown, which talks to the card over the network and shuts physical and virtual machines down gracefully before the battery runs out. Ask SourceIT about PowerChute licensing for your host count.
What is the Secure NMC System subscription that comes with it?
Every AP9544 includes a 12-month Secure NMC System subscription, Schneider's programme for keeping the card's firmware current against newly disclosed vulnerabilities, with access to new features and advanced support. Longer subscriptions are available from Schneider - useful if your organisation has to evidence patching of network-connected infrastructure.
Can I connect a temperature sensor to it?
No. The AP9544 has no Universal I/O port, so the AP9335T and AP9335TH sensors do not connect to it. For rack temperature on an Easy UPS site, use a NetBotz appliance or a Rack ATS or Rack PDU with a sensor port.
Does it need a network cable, or can it work over Wi-Fi?
Either. The card has a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port, and Schneider also supports the optional APC AP9834 USB Wi-Fi device for installations where running a cable to the UPS is impractical.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every APC AP9544 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC by Schneider Electric backs the AP9544 with a 2-year repair-or-replace manufacturer warranty.
