APC Easy UPS On-Line SRV 2000VA 1800W 230V
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Easy UPS On-Line SRV 2000VA/1800W Tower UPS 230V (SRV2KI-E) - 2 Years Local Warranty
On-Line Double Conversion for Singapore's 230V/50Hz Supply
The APC Easy UPS On-Line SRV2KI-E is a true double-conversion on-line UPS rated at 2000 VA / 1800 W. The load runs from the inverter continuously, on a clean 230 V sine wave with 3% maximum distortion, rather than waiting on a transfer when the mains misbehaves.
For a Singapore server room or comms cabinet that means the everyday problems — voltage sag during a storm, a brownout on a loaded riser, switching transients from lift or chiller plant — are absorbed by the rectifier rather than passed to your equipment, and the battery is held in reserve for a real outage.
0.9 Power Factor — More Real Watts per kVA
The -E generation is the 0.9 power factor build of the Easy UPS On-Line SRV range, and that is the main reason to choose it: the SRV2KI-E delivers 1800 W from 2000 VA, where the equivalent earlier non-E model delivers less real power from the same VA rating. When you are sizing against a rack of servers, switches and storage, watts are the number that decides whether the UPS copes.
Size on the total continuous watts of the connected load with headroom for start-up surge, and talk to us if you are close to the limit — we would rather size it right than have it trip.
Tower Chassis for Office and Home-Office Use
The SRV2KI-E is a tower unit measuring 238 x 145 x 400 mm and is not supplied with rack rails. It suits an SME office, a home office or a plant room where a rack is not available, standing beside the equipment it protects.
If you need the same electrical performance in a cabinet, the rackmount build of this rating in the same generation is listed separately in our catalogue and ships with its rails included.
Outlets, Emergency Power Off and Network Management
Output is provided on 4 x IEC C13, so ordinary IEC power leads plug straight in — no electrician and no hardwiring required, unlike the larger 6 and 10 kVA models in the same range. The unit is supplied with the input cable and an IEC C13 to C14 lead in the box.
The -E generation adds an Emergency Power Off connector, using normally-closed contacts, which the earlier non-E models do not have — a genuine advantage where a room EPO loop is a condition of occupancy. An Intelligent Card Slot takes an AP9544 Network Management Card 3 for SNMP monitoring, and PowerChute Serial Shutdown handles graceful unattended shutdown over USB or serial.

Compatibility & Runtime
Outlets and What Can Be Plugged In
The SRV2KI-E provides 4 x IEC C13 on the output. Standard IEC leads plug straight in, so no electrician is needed for the load side. The input connection is an IEC C14 inlet and the appropriate input cable is supplied in the box along with an IEC C13 to C14 lead.
Size on watts, not on VA. This unit is a 0.9 power factor build rated at 1800 W. Add up the continuous draw of everything you intend to connect, leave headroom for start-up surge, and check the total against that figure. We are happy to do the sum for you.
Siting
This is a tower model and no rack rails are supplied. It stands beside the equipment it protects, which suits an SME office, a home office or a plant room.
Battery and Runtime
The battery is a sealed maintenance-free VRLA type with a typical three to five year service life in normal conditions. Singapore's humidity and ambient temperature both shorten battery life, so a cabinet that stays close to 25 °C will get materially more service out of a battery than one that sits at 35 °C. The replacement cartridge for this model is APCRBCV204 — note that the -E generation uses different cartridge part numbers from the earlier non-E models, so check the part number against your actual unit before ordering.
Schneider's product name and datasheet for this model do not list external battery pack support. The extended-runtime models in this range (SRV1KRILRK-E, SRV2KRILRK-E and SRV3KRILRK-E) are the ones documented to take the SRV36RLBP-9A / SRV72RLBP-9A packs, up to four per UPS. Please confirm with SourceIT before planning extended runtime around this part number.
Schneider does not publish a runtime table for this model, so we do not print one. Runtime depends on the connected load. Send us your load in watts and the hold-up time you need and we will size it for you.
Management and Software
An Intelligent Card Slot takes an AP9544 Network Management Card 3 for SNMP monitoring and alerting. PowerChute Serial Shutdown is the documented software for graceful unattended shutdown over the USB or RS-232 port. An EPO connector with normally-closed contacts is fitted, which the earlier non-E generation does not have.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC SRV2KI-E
What is the difference between the VA and the watt rating, and how do I size this UPS?
VA is apparent power and watts is real power; the watt rating is what limits your load. The -E generation is a 0.9 power factor build, so this model gives 1800 W from 2000 VA — more real power than the earlier non-E model of the same VA rating. Total up the continuous watts of everything you want to protect, allow headroom for start-up surge and growth, and compare that to 1800 W.
What does the “-E” suffix actually change?
Three things that matter. The output power factor rises from 0.8 to 0.9, so you get more real watts from the same VA rating. An Emergency Power Off connector is fitted, which the non-E models do not have. And the replacement battery cartridge part numbers change, so a cartridge from a non-E unit is not the right part for an -E unit. Everything else — on-line double conversion, the two-year warranty, the Intelligent Card Slot — carries over.
Is the output a true sine wave, and will it suit an active-PFC server power supply?
Yes. This is an on-line double-conversion UPS with a sine wave output and 3 per cent maximum distortion, generated by the inverter continuously rather than switched in. That is the output type active-PFC power supplies in servers and modern workstations are designed for, and it is a genuinely different proposition from the step-approximated output of an entry-level standby UPS.
What runtime will I get?
Schneider does not publish a runtime figure for this model that we can verify, so we will not print one. Runtime falls sharply as load rises. Email sales@sourceit.com.sg with your load in watts and the hold-up time you need and we will size it against the manufacturer's runtime curve.
Which replacement battery cartridge does it take, and can I change it myself?
This model takes the APCRBCV204 cartridge. Schneider describes the batteries as user replaceable. Schneider does not describe this model as hot-swappable, so we do not claim it is — plan on a short shutdown window for a battery change unless we confirm otherwise for your build. Because the -E cartridge numbers differ from the non-E ones, always check the part number printed on the unit before ordering.
Is a rack kit available for this tower model?
This part number is a tower and ships without rails. The 2U rackmount build of the same rating in the same generation is a separate part number and includes its rails; it is listed in the ordering table above.
How does this compare with the other models in our catalogue?
Within the -E generation, the choice is rating and form factor: the 2 kVA models give 1800 W on 4 x C13, the 3 kVA models give 2700 W on 6 x C13 plus a C19. Against the earlier non-E models of the same VA rating, the -E gives more real watts and adds EPO. And if you need runtime measured in tens of minutes rather than minutes, the extended-runtime -E models ship with an external battery pack and accept up to four.
How do I monitor it and shut servers down safely?
An Intelligent Card Slot takes an AP9544 Network Management Card 3 for SNMP monitoring and alerting over the network. For a directly attached server, PowerChute Serial Shutdown is the documented software and connects over the supplied USB or RS-232 cable.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty and a GST invoice?
Yes. Every APC SRV2KI-E sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the SRV2KI-E with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
