The APC Easy UPS On-Line SRV3KRI-E is a true double-conversion on-line UPS rated at 3000 VA / 2700 W. The load runs from the inverter continuously, on a clean 230 V sine wave with 3% maximum distortion, rather than waiting on a transfer when the mains misbehaves.
For a Singapore server room that means voltage sag, brownouts and switching transients are absorbed by the rectifier rather than passed to your equipment, and the battery is held in reserve for a real outage.
0.9 Power Factor — More Real Watts per kVA
The -E generation is the 0.9 power factor build of the Easy UPS On-Line SRV range, and that is the main reason to choose it: the SRV3KRI-E delivers 2700 W from 3000 VA, where the earlier SRV3KRI delivers 2400 W — an extra 300 W of real load for the same rack space. When you are sizing against a rack of servers, switches and storage, watts are the number that decides whether the UPS copes.
Size on the total continuous watts of the connected load with headroom for start-up surge, and talk to us if you are close to the limit — we would rather size it right than have it trip.
2U Rackmount — Rail Kit Sold Separately
The SRV3KRI-E occupies 2U of rack space and is Schneider's “W/O rail kit” part number: the carton contains the front mounting brackets but not the support rails, which suits a customer who already has rails or uses a fixed shelf. If you want rails in the same carton, the SRV3KRIRK-E is the same UPS packed with the rail kit; otherwise a compatible Easy UPS On-Line rail kit is available on request.
Depth is the number to check before ordering. At 632 mm deep the chassis will not fit a standard 600 mm comms cabinet; it needs an 800 mm or deeper server rack with front and rear mounting posts, and at 28.5 kg it is a two-person lift into the rack.
Outlets, Emergency Power Off and Network Management
Output is provided on 6 x IEC C13 plus 1 x IEC C19, so ordinary IEC power leads plug straight in — no hardwiring required, unlike the 6 and 10 kVA models in the same range. The C19 outlet is the right feed for a 16 A rack PDU. Input is an IEC C20 inlet. The input lead in the carton is an IEC C19 to Schuko (CEE 7/7) cable, which does not fit Singapore's BS 1363 (Type G) wall sockets and, in any case, a 3 kVA load exceeds what a 13 A plug should carry. In Singapore this unit is normally fed from a dedicated 16 A IEC 60309 or C19 outlet using a matching lead to the C20 inlet, or from an IEC-fed rack PDU. No local lead is bundled; tell us what outlet you have and we will advise.
The -E generation adds an Emergency Power Off connector, using normally-closed contacts, which the earlier non-E models do not have — a genuine advantage where a room EPO loop is a condition of occupancy. An Intelligent Card Slot takes an AP9544 Network Management Card 3 for SNMP monitoring, and PowerChute Serial Shutdown handles graceful unattended shutdown over USB or serial.

Compatibility & Runtime
Outlets and What Can Be Plugged In
The SRV3KRI-E provides 6 x IEC C13 and 1 x IEC C19 on the output. Standard IEC leads plug straight in. The usual arrangement in a Singapore rack is to feed an IEC-outlet rack PDU from the C19 and plug the servers into the PDU.
Size on watts, not on VA. This unit is a 0.9 power factor build rated at 2700 W. Add up the continuous draw of everything you intend to connect, leave headroom for start-up surge, and check the total against that figure. We are happy to do the sum for you.
Rack Fit
The chassis occupies 2U and measures 86 x 438 x 632 mm. At 632 mm deep it does not fit a standard 600 mm comms cabinet — allow for an 800 mm or deeper server rack with front and rear posts, plus clearance behind for the C20 inlet. Front mounting brackets are in the carton; support rails are not. A compatible Easy UPS On-Line rail kit is available on request, or the SRV3KRIRK-E is the same UPS supplied with the rail kit. Net weight is 28.5 kg, so plan a two-person install.
Battery and Runtime
The battery is a sealed maintenance-free VRLA type — six 12 V 9 Ah blocks on a 72 V bus — with a typical three to five year service life in normal conditions. Singapore's humidity and ambient temperature both shorten battery life, so a rack that stays close to 25 °C will get materially more service out of a battery than one that sits at 35 °C. The replacement cartridge for this model is APCRBCV202, the same cartridge as the SRV3KRIRK-E — note that the -E generation uses different cartridge part numbers from the earlier non-E models, and the tower SRV3KI-E uses APCRBCV205, so check the part number against your actual unit before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC SRV3KRI-E
What is the difference between the VA and the watt rating, and how do I size this UPS?
VA is apparent power and watts is real power; the watt rating is what limits your load. The -E generation is a 0.9 power factor build, so this model gives 2700 W from 3000 VA — more real power than the earlier SRV3KRI, which gives 2400 W. Total up the continuous watts of everything you want to protect, allow headroom for start-up surge and growth, and compare that to 2700 W.
What does the “-E” suffix actually change?
Three things that matter. The output power factor rises from 0.8 to 0.9, so you get more real watts from the same VA rating. An Emergency Power Off connector is fitted, which the non-E models do not have. And the replacement battery cartridge part number changes — APCRBCV202 for this model — so a cartridge from a non-E unit is not the right part for an -E unit. Everything else — on-line double conversion, the two-year warranty, the Intelligent Card Slot — carries over.
Is a rail kit included, and will it fit my cabinet?
No — this is the “W/O rail kit” part number, with only the front mounting brackets in the carton. A compatible Easy UPS On-Line rail kit is available on request, or choose the SRV3KRIRK-E for the rail kit in the same box. The chassis is 632 mm deep, so it needs an 800 mm or deeper server rack; it will not go into a 600 mm comms cabinet.
Will the supplied power cord plug into a Singapore wall socket?
No. The input lead in the box is a Schuko (CEE 7/7) plug to IEC C19, the continental European type, which does not fit a BS 1363 Type G socket — and a 3 kVA UPS should not be run from a 13 A plug in any case. In Singapore this unit is normally fed from a dedicated 16 A IEC 60309 outlet or a C19 socket using a lead with a C20 connector at the UPS end, or from an IEC-fed rack PDU. Tell us what outlet you have and we will advise on the right lead.
What runtime will I get?
Schneider's brochure for the range prints 10 minutes at half load and 3 minutes at full load, and the datasheet gives a maximum of 3 minutes. Runtime falls sharply as load rises. Which replacement battery cartridge does it take, and can I change it myself?
This model takes the APCRBCV202 cartridge, a 72 V pack of six 12 V 9 Ah blocks. Schneider describes the batteries as user replaceable. Plan on a short shutdown window for a battery change unless we confirm otherwise for your build. Because the -E cartridge numbers differ from the non-E ones, always check the part number printed on the unit before ordering.
How does this compare with the other models in our catalogue?
The SRV3KRIRK-E is this same unit with the rail kit in the carton; the SRV3KI-E is the tower build. Against the earlier SRV3KRI, the -E gives 300 W more real power and adds EPO.
