The APC Easy UPS On-Line SRV1KRIRK-E is a true double-conversion on-line UPS rated at 1000 VA / 900 W. The load runs from the inverter continuously, on a clean 230 V sine wave with 3% maximum distortion, rather than waiting on a transfer when the mains misbehaves.
For a Singapore comms cabinet or small server rack that means the everyday problems β voltage sag during a storm, a brownout on a loaded riser, switching transients from lift or chiller plant β are absorbed by the rectifier rather than passed to your equipment, and the battery is held in reserve for a real outage.
0.9 Power Factor β More Real Watts per kVA
The -E generation is the 0.9 power factor build of the Easy UPS On-Line SRV range, and that is the main reason to choose it: the SRV1KRIRK-E delivers 900 W from 1000 VA, where the equivalent earlier SRV1KRI delivers 800 W from the same VA rating. When you are sizing against a switch stack, a firewall pair and a small server, watts are the number that decides whether the UPS copes.
Size on the total continuous watts of the connected load with headroom for start-up surge, and talk to us if you are close to the limit β we would rather size it right than have it trip.
2U Rackmount with Rail Kit Included
The SRV1KRIRK-E is Schneider's kit part number: one SRV1KRI-E rackmount UPS plus one SRVRK1 19-inch rail kit in the same carton. It occupies 2U of rack space and ships with both the rack mounting brackets and the support rails β the βRKβ in the part number is exactly that. No separate rail kit needs to be ordered.
At only 312 mm deep and 11.5 kg it is the shallowest and lightest of the rackmount -E models, which makes it a practical fit for a wall-mounted comms cabinet or an office riser enclosure where a 462 mm or 632 mm chassis would never go.
Outlets, Emergency Power Off and Network Management
Output is provided on 3 x IEC C13, so ordinary IEC power leads plug straight in β no electrician and no hardwiring required, unlike the larger 6 and 10 kVA models in the same range. Input is a standard IEC C14 inlet. The input lead in the carton is an IEC C13 to Schuko (CEE 7/7) cable, which does not fit Singapore's BS 1363 (Type G) wall sockets. The normal solution here is a BS 1363 to IEC C13 lead, which plugs into the unit's C14 inlet, or feeding the UPS from an IEC-outlet rack PDU. Neither is bundled; ask us if you need one.
The -E generation adds an Emergency Power Off connector, using normally-closed contacts, which the earlier non-E models do not have β a genuine advantage where a room EPO loop is a condition of occupancy. An Intelligent Card Slot takes an AP9544 Network Management Card 3 for SNMP monitoring, and PowerChute Serial Shutdown handles graceful unattended shutdown over USB or serial.

Outlets and What Can Be Plugged In
The SRV1KRIRK-E provides 3 x IEC C13 on the output. Standard IEC leads plug straight in, so no electrician is needed for the load side. For a cabinet with more than three devices, feed a small IEC-outlet rack PDU from one C13 socket and keep the total within 900 W.
Size on watts, not on VA. This unit is a 0.9 power factor build rated at 900 W. Add up the continuous draw of everything you intend to connect, leave headroom for start-up surge, and check the total against that figure. We are happy to do the sum for you.
Rack Fit
The chassis occupies 2U and measures 86 x 438 x 312 mm, so at 312 mm deep it fits a shallow wall cabinet as well as any standard 600 mm or deeper comms cabinet. Both the rack mounting brackets and the SRVRK1 support rails are supplied in the carton, so no separate rail kit is required. The rails are designed for a 19-inch cabinet with front and rear mounting posts; in a very shallow two-post wall box the front brackets alone carry the unit.
Battery and Runtime
The battery is a sealed maintenance-free VRLA type β two 12 V 9 Ah blocks on a 24 V bus β with a typical three to five year service life in normal conditions. Singapore's humidity and ambient temperature both shorten battery life, so a cabinet that stays close to 25 Β°C will get materially more service out of a battery than one that sits at 35 Β°C. The replacement cartridge for this model is APCRBCV200 β note that the rackmount -E build uses a different cartridge from the tower SRV1KI-E (APCRBCV203) and from the earlier non-E models, so check the part number against your actual unit before ordering.

What is the difference between the VA and the watt rating, and how do I size this UPS?
VA is apparent power and watts is real power; the watt rating is what limits your load. The -E generation is a 0.9 power factor build, so this model gives 900 W from 1000 VA β more real power than the earlier SRV1KRI, which gives 800 W. Total up the continuous watts of everything you want to protect, allow headroom for start-up surge and growth, and compare that to 900 W.
What does the β-Eβ suffix actually change?
Three things that matter. The output power factor rises from 0.8 to 0.9, so you get more real watts from the same VA rating. An Emergency Power Off connector is fitted, which the non-E models do not have. And the replacement battery cartridge part number changes β APCRBCV200 for this model β so a cartridge from a non-E unit is not the right part for an -E unit. Everything else β on-line double conversion, the two-year warranty, the Intelligent Card Slot β carries over.
What exactly is in the SRV1KRIRK-E kit?
Schneider sells this part number as a kit of the SRV1KRI-E rackmount UPS and the SRVRK1 19-inch rail kit, packed together. The UPS carton also contains the front mounting brackets, the Schuko input lead, an IEC C13 to C14 lead, the USB and RS-232 cables and the documentation. If you only want the UPS without rails, the SRV1KRI-E is the bare unit β ask us.
Will the supplied power cord plug into a Singapore wall socket?
No. The input lead in the box is a Schuko (CEE 7/7) plug to IEC C13, the continental European type, and it does not fit a BS 1363 Type G socket. You need a BS 1363 to IEC C13 lead into the unit's C14 inlet, or you feed the UPS from an IEC-outlet rack PDU. Neither is included in the carton; ask us and we can quote one.
What runtime will I get?
Schneider's brochure for the range prints 10 minutes at half load and 3 minutes at full load, and the datasheet gives a maximum of 3 minutes. Runtime falls sharply as load rises. Which replacement battery cartridge does it take, and can I change it myself?
This model takes the APCRBCV200 cartridge, a 24 V pack of two 12 V 9 Ah blocks. Schneider describes the batteries as user replaceable. Plan on a short shutdown window for a battery change unless we confirm otherwise for your build. Because the rackmount and tower -E cartridges differ, and both differ from the non-E ones, always check the part number printed on the unit before ordering.
How much rack space does it need, and is a rail kit included?
It occupies 2U, and both the mounting brackets and the SRVRK1 support rails are in the carton β that is what the RK in the part number means, so there is no separate rail kit to order. At 312 mm deep it fits a shallow wall-mounted cabinet as well as a full-depth server rack.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty and a GST invoice?
