Gigabit Copper in an SFP Slot
The NETGEAR AGM734 is a 1000BASE-T SFP transceiver with an RJ-45 connector. It fits into standard SFP slots and turns a fibre port into a Gigabit Ethernet copper port, driving links up to 100 m over Cat5e/Cat6 cabling.
Make Use of Spare Fibre Ports
NETGEAR positions the AGM734 as a convenient way to add 1G copper connectivity to switch fibre interfaces — useful for connecting a nearby server, firewall or access switch to an SFP or SFP+ port without buying a fibre pair.
Fixed 1000 Mbps Operation
Per the NETGEAR M4250 datasheet, the AGM734 supports only 1000 Mbps full-duplex mode, so the device at the other end must run at Gigabit speed. It is not a 10/100/1000 auto-negotiating module.

NETGEAR's product page states the AGM734 fits the SFP+ interfaces of the XSM7224S and the SFP interfaces of the GSM7328FS. It is also listed as a supported 1G copper module in the NETGEAR M4250 and M4300 series datasheets and the M4250 hardware installation guide. Please confirm your switch model with us before ordering.
Port Restrictions
The NETGEAR M4250 datasheet notes that the M4250-16XF (XSM4216F) supports the AGM734 on ports 1 to 12 only. The module runs at 1000 Mbps full-duplex only.
Software
No drivers or software are needed — install the module in the switch SFP port and connect a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable.
