The NETGEAR AXM762 is a 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver that drives 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 10 km (6.2 miles) over 9/125 µm single-mode fibre — the long-reach optic for campus backbones and building-to-building links from NETGEAR switches with SFP+ ports.
Standards-Based 1310 nm Optics
The module complies with IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR, operates at 1310 nm and uses a standard LC duplex connector. NETGEAR specifies an operating range of 2 m to 10 km.
Reliable and Hot-Swappable
NETGEAR rates the AXM762 at an MTBF of 4,986,536 hours with power consumption under 1.5 W. It supports hot-swappable installation and removal, is RoHS compliant, and is detected automatically by NETGEAR switches.

NETGEAR states the AXM762 fits the standard SFP+ interfaces of the M5300, M7100 and M7300 series managed switches, and that select Smart and Plus switches also accept 10 Gigabit SFP+ transceivers. Alternatives
For single-mode links of 2 km or less, NETGEAR offers the AXM764 10GBASE-LR Lite, which NETGEAR states can interoperate with the AXM762 as long as the distance does not exceed 2 km.
