The NETGEAR XS724EM puts 24 RJ-45 ports that auto-detect 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10G into one desktop or rackmount switch, ideal for connecting 10G servers, NAS, workstations and Multi-Gig Wi-Fi access points over copper cabling.
Fiber-Ready with 2 SFP+ Combo Ports
Ports 23 and 24 are combo ports: use them as 10G copper ports or as SFP+ slots for 10G fiber or Direct Attach Cable uplinks. A 480 Gbps switching fabric, 3 MB packet buffer and 32K MAC table handle busy small-business and studio networks.
Easy Smart Management
Configure 802.1Q VLANs, Voice VLAN, QoS with 8 priority queues, rate limiting, IGMP snooping, LACP link aggregation, port mirroring and loop prevention from a simple web GUI or the NETGEAR Plus Configuration Utility, without the complexity of a fully managed switch.
Quiet, Efficient, Rack or Desk
An internal power supply removes the power brick, Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) saves power on idle links, and the included rackmount kit and rubber feet let you install it in a rack or on a desk.

Compatibility & Software Support
Management
Local web browser GUI, or the NETGEAR Plus Configuration Utility for managing multiple switches. The switch can be found with Windows network discovery, Bonjour on a Mac, or the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool. By default it obtains an IP address from a DHCP server; its default IP address is 192.168.0.239 and the default password is "password".
Cabling
100 Mbps: Cat 5 or higher. 1G, 2.5G and 5G: Cat 5e or higher. 10G: Cat 6A or higher (Cat 6 is acceptable for 10G runs under 55 m).
Compatible NETGEAR SFP/SFP+ Modules

What speeds do the copper ports support?
All 24 RJ-45 ports auto-detect 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10G. Use Cat 6A (or Cat 6 under 55 m) for 10G.
Are the SFP+ ports extra ports?
No. The 2 SFP+ ports are combo ports shared with copper ports 23 and 24; each pair works as either copper or SFP+. SFP+ modules and DAC cables are sold separately (e.g. NETGEAR AXM761 or AXC761).
Does it support PoE?
No, the XS724EM does not supply PoE.
How is it managed?
Through a web browser GUI or the NETGEAR Plus Configuration Utility, with VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, LACP and port mirroring.
