Colour light output and white light output are both 8,000 lumens, with 8,700 lumens measured at the centre of the image. That puts the EB-L890U at the top of Epson's compact installation laser range and makes it the sensible choice for large auditoriums, convention halls, houses of worship and atriums where the screen is wide and the ambient light is uncontrolled. Because Epson's 3LCD engine keeps colour brightness equal to white brightness, logos, charts and photography stay saturated instead of washing out as room light rises.
Native WUXGA with 1.6x Zoom for Big Screens
The panel is native WUXGA at 1920 x 1200, which gives extra vertical resolution over Full HD for documents, spreadsheets and technical drawings. A 1.6x optical zoom spanning a 1.35 to 2.20 throw ratio fills screens from 50 to 500 inches, with an 80-inch image needing 2.33 to 3.78 metres. The laser diode light source is rated at 20,000 hours in Normal mode and 30,000 hours in Extended mode, and the electrostatic air filter carries exactly the same maintenance cycle.
