The APC Smart-UPS C SMC3000RMI2U is the largest rackmount in the Smart-UPS C range: 3000 VA and 2100 W of true sine wave, line-interactive output with Automatic Voltage Regulation, in 2U. Output distortion is under 5% at full load, so the active-PFC power supplies in servers, storage arrays and switching gear see the clean waveform they are built for. It is the natural choice for a Singapore server rack that has outgrown a 1500 VA unit.
AVR Absorbs Singapore Grid Dips Without Cycling the Battery
Singapore runs on 230 V, 50 Hz mains, and the day-to-day threat to equipment here is rarely a full blackout — it is the sag when a PUB feeder is switched, the brownout during a storm, and the surge that follows. Automatic Voltage Regulation corrects those without touching the battery, which is why an AVR unit's batteries last longer in service than a cheaper standby UPS's do in the same building. The SMC3000RMI2U runs from a 180 to 287 V input on 50/60 Hz ±3 Hz auto-sensing supply, holding output steady through the transformer so the battery stays in reserve for actual outages.
Eight C13 Outlets, One C19 and Two Jumpers — All Battery-Backed
You get eight IEC C13 outlets, one IEC C19 and two IEC jumper cords, every one on battery backup. The C19 takes a C20-terminated cord for a heavier single load such as a blade chassis or a downstream rack PDU. The unit is fed by an IEC C20 inlet, and at 3000 VA a dedicated circuit should be part of the install plan rather than an afterthought.

Two numbers to check before you order. First, depth: at 670 mm this unit is 200 mm deeper than the 2000 VA SMC2000I-2U, and it will not go into a shallow comms cabinet. Second, mounting: Schneider supplies rack-mounting brackets, not four-post slide rails, so plan rear support for a 41 kg unit. It fits a standard 19-inch rack at 480 mm across the flanges, runs at 42 dBA and dissipates 81 BTU/hr.

Schneider Electric does not publish an adjustable input range, a battery VAh figure, an input current or a battery bus voltage for this model — the 170 to 300 V adjustable range belongs to the tower builds and is not carried across. Which replacement battery cartridge does it take, and can I swap it myself?
The genuine APC APCRBC151. It is user-replaceable, with 3 to 5 years of expected service life — shorter in a warm rack, and Singapore ambient conditions are hard on sealed lead-acid. Follow the APC installation manual and plan the swap into a maintenance window.
Can I add a network management card or an external battery pack?
Neither. This model has no SmartSlot. An internal APC network management card such as the AP9640 or AP9641 cannot be fitted to any Smart-UPS C unit — management is over the bundled USB or serial port to a host running APC PowerChute software. If you need SNMP or web management in the rack, choose a Smart-UPS SMT or SMX model with a SmartSlot, or a Smart-UPS C SmartConnect model with a built-in Ethernet port. The SMC2000I-2U gives 1300 W, six C13 outlets and no C19, in a 470 mm-deep 26.2 kg chassis. This unit adds 800 W, two more C13 outlets and the C19 — but it is 670 mm deep and 41 kg. Cabinet depth is usually what decides it.
