The Poly GC8 is the tabletop touch controller for a Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows deployment. It connects by USB to the room's certified conferencing PC and gives users an 8-inch WXGA touchscreen to join meetings, share content and manage calls, with HDMI and USB inputs at the table for laptop sharing. Microsoft Teams certified by HP, it is the controller supplied in Poly's room kits for Teams Rooms on Windows.
8-Inch WXGA IPS Touchscreen at the Table
The GC8 uses an 8-inch IPS panel at WXGA 1280 x 800 in 16:10, with a 75-degree viewing angle horizontally and vertically and a 60-degree positioning angle. The familiar Microsoft Teams Rooms console sits within easy reach of every seat, so joining a meeting is a single tap for any user regardless of how often they use the room.
Laptop Content Sharing Built Into the Controller
Integrated HDMI and USB Type-A inputs let a presenter connect a laptop directly at the table rather than running cables to a rack, alongside a USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. For rooms where the conferencing PC is hidden in a credenza, HP supports an optional 10 m active optical USB cable or a USB 2.0 extender over CAT5e for runs up to 100 metres.
USB-Connected, Mains Powered — Not a PoE Controller
The GC8 attaches to the conferencing PC over USB and takes power from an external supply rated 100–240 VAC, 12 V, 36 W or 60 W. HP publishes no Ethernet port and no Power over Ethernet capability for this model, so plan a power outlet at the table position.
