Poly Studio USB Video Bar — 4K Conferencing for Medium Meeting Rooms
The Poly Studio USB video bar is the bar that established the category: a single 700 mm unit holding a 4K camera, stereo speakers and a six-element beamforming microphone array, sized by HP for medium rooms of six to nine people. It is certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet, and connects over one USB-C cable to a room PC or laptop. Wall mount hardware, a table stand and a Bluetooth remote all ship in the box.
4K Camera with a 120° Field of View and DirectorAI Framing
The camera records 2160p 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) at 30 fps with a 120° diagonal and 110° horizontal field of view — ultra-wide without fisheye distortion, so people at the ends of the table are not bent out of shape. Poly DirectorAI supplies speaker framing, people framing, group framing, presenter tracking and DirectorAI Perimeter, and the zoom is rated at 5x.
Six-Microphone Beamforming Array with Acoustic Fence
Six beamforming microphone elements cover a pickup range of 4.6 m (15 ft), extendable with the optional Poly expansion microphone. Poly NoiseBlockAI suppresses background noise, Poly Acoustic Fence keeps voices from outside the meeting zone out of the call, and Poly Acoustic Clarity provides full-duplex echo cancellation. Stereo speakers rated 90 dB sensitivity across 100 Hz to 20 kHz carry the far end clearly down the length of a medium room.
Certified for Teams, Zoom and Google Meet on Any Room PC
The Studio USB has no built-in compute — it is a USB peripheral, which is exactly why it is platform-agnostic. HP lists all three of Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet as certified, and the bar also works with any application that supports UVC 1.1/1.5 and UAC 1.0. Poly Video App mode and USB Device mode are both supported, and the fleet is managed through Poly Lens.

What room size does the Poly Studio USB cover?
HP rates it for medium rooms of six to nine people, with microphone pickup to 4.6 m (15 ft). The optional expansion microphone extends coverage for longer tables.
Is the Poly Studio USB certified for Google Meet?
Yes. HP lists the Studio USB as certified for Google Meet as well as Microsoft Teams and Zoom — one of the few Poly bars certified across all three. By contrast, HP’s spec sheet for the Studio R30 lists only Teams and Zoom.
Is the 5x zoom optical or digital?
HP publishes the figure as “5x” without stating the type, so SourceIT does not claim either. The camera is a fixed single-lens 4K unit with a 120° diagonal field of view, and framing is handled by Poly DirectorAI.
Do I need a room PC or licence with the Studio USB?

How does the Studio USB compare with the newer Studio V52 and V72?
The Studio USB remains HP’s certified-for-all-three-platforms medium-room bar with a six-microphone array. The newer Studio V52 and Studio V72 are the current V-series bars, the V72 adding a second camera lens and considerably more speaker power for large rooms. Choose on room size first, then on whether Google Meet certification matters to you.
Can the Studio USB be wall mounted?
Yes. Both a wall mount kit and a table stand are supplied in the box, so no separate mounting accessory is required.
Does the Studio USB support PoE or an Ethernet connection?
No. HP does not list Ethernet or PoE for this model. It connects to the host over USB-C and takes power from the supplied external adapter; Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2 are on board.
