Metered 0U Distribution at a Value Price
The APC Easy Rack PDU Metered EPDU1116M puts a metered, network-managed 0U strip within reach of a branch office or small server room budget. Eighteen IEC C13 and three IEC C19 outlets on a 902 mm vertical strip, rated 16 A and 3.7 kW at 230 V, fed by a 3 m cord ending in an IEC 60309 16 A 2P+E commando plug. Schneider's own description is "reliable and affordable rack power distribution", and that is exactly the brief.
The Easy Rack PDU line sits below the NetShelter 2G and 9000 series: the same job of metered distribution, a simpler feature set, and a one-year warranty rather than two.
Local LCD and Load LED, Remote Web and SNMP
A local LCD shows the current draw at the strip and a load-indicator LED gives a glance-level status, so an engineer at the rack can see the headroom without a laptop. Remotely, the strip serves a web interface, speaks SNMP v1, v2c and v3 and Modbus TCP, and lets you set alarm thresholds so an overload is warned about before it trips anything. Management is built in: a web interface over HTTP or HTTPS, SNMP v1, v2c and v3 with traps, and Modbus TCP, reporting current, power and voltage. There is a port for a temperature and humidity sensor and the firmware is flash-upgradeable. Toolless vertical mounting brackets are supplied.
16 A and 3.7 kW Through a Commando Plug
The 16 A rating covers a cabinet of network equipment and a handful of servers; for a rack of dual-PSU servers you would run two strips on A and B feeds or step up to the 32 A EPDU1132M. The commando plug means the rack needs a 16 A IEC 60309 socket - the standard arrangement in a Singapore data centre or a properly wired comms room, but not something a wall socket provides.
A Half-Height Strip for Mid-Height and Full-Height Cabinets
At 902 mm long, 62 mm wide and 44 mm deep and 2.5 kg, the EPDU1116M fits a 24U or 27U enclosure with a vertical channel and takes up about half the channel in a 42U rack, leaving space for a second strip. Its aluminium housing keeps the weight down.

Compatibility & Rack Fit
What you can plug into it. Eighteen IEC C13 outlets for C14-corded servers, switches, firewalls and appliances, and three IEC C19 outlets for C20-corded storage, a larger switch or a rack UPS input. Twenty-one outlets is plenty for a mid-height cabinet or one feed of a full-height rack.
Load planning. 16 A total, 3,680 VA at 230 V. The LCD and the web interface both show the aggregate load, and the alarm threshold warns you as you approach the limit. Plan against total nameplate current, not outlet count. For a heavier rack, the 32 A EPDU1132M carries twice the load on the same platform.
Feeding it. The attached 3 m cord ends in an IEC 60309 16 A 2P+E commando plug, so the rack needs a matching 16 A socket on a row PDU, busway or fixed outlet. It cannot be plugged into a BS 1363 wall socket or a C13 UPS outlet. If your supply is a C19 outlet on a UPS, the AP8858 with its C20 inlet is the strip to use.
Rack fit. A 0U strip 902 mm long, 62 mm wide and 44 mm deep, weighing 2.5 kg. It fits a 24U or 27U enclosure with a vertical channel and takes about half the channel in a 42U rack, mounted toolless with the supplied brackets. Note the 62 mm width - a little wider than the 56 mm NetShelter strips - and check the channel clearance in a narrow cabinet. For a wallmount or short cabinet, the 1U EPDU1010B-SCH is the Easy Rack PDU alternative.
Management and sensors. Web, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and Modbus TCP are built in, with a port for a temperature and humidity sensor. Ask us to confirm the matching sensor part for the Easy Rack PDU line when you order - the AP9335TH is the NetShelter sensor and we will check which one this range takes. The AP9640 and AP9641 cards we sell are Smart-UPS accessories and are not used with this PDU.
What it does not do. No outlet switching - to power-cycle a device remotely you want the switched AP7921B in 1U or the 0U APDU9959EU3. No per-outlet metering. And no surge protection, which belongs at a UPS upstream.

Locking Output Cords (Sold Separately)
These are the cords that run from this unit's C13 outlets to your equipment's C14 inlets. The locking design stops a cord being nudged out of its outlet while you work in the rack - a common and entirely avoidable cause of an unplanned reboot. Note that this is an output cord kit, not this unit's supply cord - if you also need an input cord, tell us and we will quote the right type for this model.

What is the difference between an Easy Rack PDU and a NetShelter Rack PDU?
The Easy Rack PDU line is Schneider's value range: the same metered distribution job, a simpler management feature set - web, SNMP and Modbus TCP rather than the NetShelter's SSH, Telnet, Secure NMC subscription and EcoStruxure IT integration - and a one-year warranty instead of two. For a branch cabinet or a small server room the EPDU1116M does everything you need; for a colocation or managed environment the AP8858EU3 is the NetShelter equivalent.
Is it metered per outlet?
No. The EPDU1116M meters at device level - current, power and voltage for the whole strip - on the LCD and over the network. Per-outlet metering is a NetShelter 2G feature, on the AP8659.
What supply does it need?
A 16 A IEC 60309 2P+E commando socket. The 3 m cord is attached, so nothing to buy, but a wall socket or a C13 UPS outlet will not do - if that is what you have, the AP8858 with its C20 inlet is the right strip.
Can I add a temperature and humidity sensor?
Yes, the strip has a temperature/humidity sensor port. Ask us to confirm the matching sensor part number for the Easy Rack PDU line when you order.
Does it have surge protection?
No. Schneider states that APC Rack PDUs are power distribution devices without built-in surge suppression. Feed the strip from a UPS if the load needs protection.
Can it switch outlets off remotely?
No - Metered means measurement, not control. The Easy Rack PDU line has switched models such as the three-phase EPDU1232S, and in the NetShelter range the 1U AP7921B and the 0U APDU9959EU3 provide per-outlet switching.
How does it compare with the EPDU1132M?
Same platform, twice the capacity. The EPDU1132M is 32 A and 7.4 kW with twenty C13 and four C19 outlets on a 1,175 mm strip and an IEC 60309 32 A plug; this EPDU1116M is 16 A and 3.7 kW with eighteen C13 and three C19 on a 902 mm strip and a 16 A plug. Choose on the socket in the rack and the load.
