Yealink vs Poly vs Jabra Video Bars for Singapore Rooms

If you are choosing a video bar for a Singapore meeting room, the realistic shortlist is the Yealink MeetingBar A40 and Yealink MeetingBar A50, the Poly Studio X30 and Poly Studio X50, and the Jabra PanaCast 50. The short answer: the Yealink bars give you the newest camera and microphone hardware and a native Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android appliance with a touch console; the Poly Studio X series is the most flexible on platform, with native Teams, Zoom and other apps selectable on the bar; and the Jabra PanaCast 50 is a USB bar whose 180° panoramic view suits wide, shallow rooms and BYOD. All five are price on request at SourceIT and quoted per room, so this comparison is about fit, not price tags. For the wider range, start with our Yealink Singapore buyer's guide.

Which video bar runs Microsoft Teams Rooms natively?

The Yealink and Poly bars are appliances; the Jabra is a peripheral. The Yealink MeetingBar A40 and MeetingBar A50 run Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android 13 and support the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP), with management from the Teams Admin Center, the MTR Portal and Yealink Management Cloud Service; Yealink states the A40 is certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and a separate Zoom Rooms appliance version exists. The Poly Studio X30 and Poly Studio X50 take a different route: the bar itself runs Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android, 8x8, GoToRoom, RingCentral or StarLeaf natively, selectable at setup, and Poly Video App mode covers other cloud services. Both Poly bars are Zoom and Microsoft Teams certified. The Jabra PanaCast 50 we stock is the USB video bar (8200-237): it is certified for Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom and Zoom Rooms, but it needs a host, either a laptop (BYOD) or a Teams Rooms on Windows compute such as the mini PCs in our Teams Rooms mini PC guide. If you want one box on the wall and one-touch join with no PC, choose Yealink or Poly; the full Teams-platform picture is in our Yealink Microsoft Teams Rooms guide.

Camera: dual 48MP, triple 50MP, 4K 120° or 180° panoramic?

This is where the generations show. The MeetingBar A40 uses dual 48MP lenses that combine into a 120° frame, with Auto Framing, Speaker Tracking, IntelliFocus close-ups of recent speakers, People Counting, Picture-in-Picture and Video Fence to crop out a glass wall or corridor. The MeetingBar A50 goes further with a triple 50MP system (a 98° wide lens plus two 41.6° telephoto lenses), 4K at 30 fps or 1080p at 60 fps, 8x digital zoom, IntelliFocus with up to four portraits and an electric lens cap, all driven by a Qualcomm 8550 processor. The Poly Studio X30 and X50 both have a 4K capture camera with a 120° field of view and 5x digital zoom, automatic people framing and speaker tracking; the X50 can add a secondary camera over USB or HDMI for longer rooms. The Jabra PanaCast 50 is built differently: three 13MP cameras stitch a 180° horizontal view at panoramic 4K (3840 x 1080), with up to 6x lossless zoom, Intelligent Zoom framing, Virtual Director speaker following and Dynamic Composition views of recent speakers. In practice the A50 and X50 are the picks for a 6 m table, the A40 and X30 for a square small room, and the PanaCast 50 for a wide room where people sit along the near wall. Camera sizing by room is covered in our Yealink system by room size guide.

Microphones and speakers: who covers the longest table?

Pickup range decides whether you need expansion microphones. Yealink rates the A40's 8-MEMS beamforming array at up to 6 m and the A50's array at up to 10 m, both with AI noise cancellation and reverberation suppression and both accepting VCM35 or VCM36-W expansion microphones and the CM20 ceiling microphone (the A50 also takes ceiling mics as a system). Poly rates the X30's four MEMS microphones at 15 ft (about 4.6 m) and the X50's five-microphone array at 25 ft (about 7.6 m). Jabra specifies eight beamforming microphones but does not publish a pickup distance; its Teams certification for rooms up to 4.5 m x 6 m is the practical limit. On speakers, the A50's four stereo speakers and the X50's 20W RMS stereo are the loudest in this group; the X30's single 3W speaker is fine for a huddle room, and the PanaCast 50's two woofers and two tweeters sit in between.

Content sharing, BYOD and touch controllers

Every bar here can be a BYOD device, but with different cabling. Yealink pairs the A40 and A50 with the CTP25 touch console over a single Cat5e cable that carries power and network; a USB-C cable from the console to a laptop then handles 4K sharing, BYOD and PD charging, and the bars also offer a BYOM (General Mode) and USB mode. The Yealink VCH51 Pro (S$405) adds one-cable BYOD and 4K/60 wired sharing to A-series bars. Poly uses the Poly TC8 controller (price on request) with the X30 and X50, and both bars have an HDMI input for wired content and USB-C for device mode. The PanaCast 50 is USB-native, so a laptop simply selects it as camera and audio; for a native room it is controlled from the Teams Rooms console on the attached compute. For a wider BYOD discussion, including Yealink's USB bars, see our Yealink BYOD kits guide.

Ecosystem and management

If the rest of your rooms are Yealink, the MeetingBars share Yealink Management Cloud Service, the same CTP25 console, the same VCM and CM20 microphones and the same RoomPanel scheduling panels as the MVC and MeetingBoard lines, which simplifies spares and support; the full MeetingBar lineup is in our MeetingBar A10 vs A25 vs A40 vs A50 comparison. Poly bars are managed through Poly Lens and fit organisations already standardised on Poly phones and headsets. Jabra's PanaCast 50 is managed with Jabra Xpress and Jabra Direct and offers an integrated PeopleCount and room usage insights, which facilities teams use for occupancy reporting. All three vendors support Teams Admin Center enrolment when the bar or its compute runs Teams Rooms.

What we see in Singapore video bar deployments

Most organisations choose by platform first and camera second: Teams-only tenants pick a native Android bar and a touch console; offices that host external Zoom and Webex calls weekly pick a bar with a clean BYOD mode. Six-to-eight-person rooms we quote usually get a single bar without expansion mics; beyond 8 m of table, or with a ceiling-mounted display, we move to a kit with a separate PTZ camera instead of any bar in this group.

Buying video bars in Singapore

SourceIT supplies all three brands in Singapore. The MeetingBar A40 and A50 and the Jabra PanaCast 50 are in stock at the time of writing; the Poly Studio X30 and X50 are available to order, and we handle warranty claims through each brand's Singapore distributor. The MeetingBar A Series collection holds the bar-only and bar-with-CTP25 bundles, and the Yealink video conferencing collection the rest of the range. All five bars are quoted per room configuration, including console, mounts, expansion microphones and installation. Frequently asked questions

Is the Yealink MeetingBar A50 better than the Poly Studio X50? For camera and audio hardware, the A50's triple 50MP camera, 10 m pickup and four speakers lead; the X50 leads on platform choice, with native Zoom, Teams and other apps selectable on the bar.

Does the Jabra PanaCast 50 run Microsoft Teams Rooms on its own? The USB bar we stock does not. It is certified for Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms but needs a host PC or room compute; a laptop can use it directly for BYOD.

Which video bar suits a 12-person room? The Yealink MeetingBar A50 (7 to 15 people, 10 m pickup) or the Poly Studio X50 (25 ft pickup, dual HDMI out). The A40, X30 and PanaCast 50 are small-to-medium room bars.

Can I use these bars for Zoom? Yes. The MeetingBar A40 is Zoom certified and a Zoom Rooms version exists, the Poly X30 and X50 run Zoom Rooms natively, and the PanaCast 50 is Zoom Rooms certified with a host.

Do these bars need a touch controller? Yealink bundles the CTP25 console (A40-031, A50-031) or a remote (A40-010, A50-010); Poly offers the TC8 controller; the PanaCast 50 uses the console of its host room system or the laptop.

What do the video bars cost in Singapore? All five are price on request; SourceIT quotes per room configuration with console, mounts and installation.
