Best Mini PC for Microsoft Teams Rooms in Singapore (2026)

Posted by Wei Fei on

If you are building a Microsoft Teams Room on Windows, the mini PC that runs it is the part most buyers get wrong: it has to be a certified compute unit, it needs enough ports for a touch console, a camera bar and two front-of-room displays, and it has to run for years without anyone touching it. In Singapore the compute we recommend first is the ASUS NUC 15 Pro Tall, the box inside current Teams Rooms kits, from S$1,180 with Windows 11 Pro. This guide explains what a Teams Room actually needs, how Teams Rooms on Windows differs from the Android version, and how the NUC compares with the other Teams Rooms compute and bundles SourceIT sells: the Lenovo ThinkSmart Core, the Jabra PanaCast 50 room system, the Poly Studio kits and the HP Elite Slice G2.

What a Microsoft Teams Room actually needs

A Teams Room on Windows is four pieces of hardware plus a licence. The compute is a small Windows PC, certified for Teams Rooms, that boots straight into the Teams Rooms app. The console is a touch panel on the table (or a touch display at the front) used to join meetings and control the room. The camera and audio are either a single video bar for small and medium rooms or separate PTZ cameras, microphones and speakers for large ones. The displays are one or two front-of-room screens. On top of that, each room needs a Teams Rooms licence from Microsoft, which is never included in the hardware price. When you buy a "room kit" you are buying some combination of the first three; when you buy a mini PC on its own, you are buying only the compute and must add the rest.

Teams Rooms on Windows vs Teams Rooms on Android

Microsoft runs two platforms. Teams Rooms on Android is an appliance: the Teams software runs inside a video bar or a touch display, with no separate PC. Teams Rooms on Windows runs the Teams Rooms app on a Windows 11 mini PC with a separate console, and Microsoft's own feature comparison shows where it is ahead.

Feature (Microsoft feature comparison) Teams Rooms on Windows Teams Rooms on Android
Operating system Windows 11 Android 10+
Breakout rooms participation Available Not available
Overflow meeting join (1,000+ participants) Available Not available
Spatial audio Available Not available
People recognition (video) Available Not available
Coordinated meetings, third-party room control, Miracast Available Not available
Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Available Not available
Meeting controls on touch front-of-room display; local PTZ control Not available Available

In practice: choose Windows when the room is large, when IT wants Defender and the same management tooling as the laptop fleet, or when you want to pick your own camera, bar and console. Choose Android for a one-box bar in a huddle room. Yealink's MVC S40 and S90 are Windows-platform systems built around Yealink's own MCore Pro compute; our Yealink MVC S40 vs S90 guide covers that route. The rest of this post covers the mini PC route, where you choose the compute.

Our pick: ASUS NUC 15 Pro Tall

The ASUS NUC 15 Pro Tall is the Windows compute inside current Teams Rooms kits, including the Logitech MeetUp 2 and Rally based kits SourceIT builds. Four things make it the default. Ports: two Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 2.1 and two HDMI, so dual front-of-room displays plus a USB-C console are covered without adapters, alongside 2.5GbE, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Chassis: 0.7 litres with a 2.5-inch drive bay and a VESA bracket in the box, so it mounts behind the display or under the table. Processor choice: Intel Core 5 210H and Core 7 240H for standard rooms, Core Ultra 5 225H and Core Ultra 7 255H when you want more headroom for AI-enhanced video features. Warranty: three-year commercial warranty on business NUC models, with official ASUS Singapore support.

Current SourceIT pricing with Windows 11 Pro: NUC 15 Pro Tall Core 5 210H 8 GB / 512 GB at S$1,180, Tall Core 7 240H 16 GB / 512 GB at S$1,715, Core Ultra 5 225H 16 GB / 512 GB at S$1,900 and Core Ultra 7 255H 16 GB / 1 TB at S$2,465. Barebone Tall kits start at S$655 for the Core 5 and S$840 for the Core 7. One point to be clear on: a standalone NUC ships with Windows 11 Pro, while a room kit is delivered configured for Teams Rooms, so tell us the room is for Teams when you order. Start from the ASUS video conferencing collection; our ASUS NUC buyer's guide covers the Slim-versus-Tall and barebone-versus-kit decisions.

Prices are at time of writing and the product pages show the live figure. None of these includes the Teams Rooms licence.

Lenovo ThinkSmart Core, Jabra PanaCast 50 and Poly Studio kits

The ThinkSmart Core + Controller kit is what you buy when you want the compute and the table console from one vendor, certified and preloaded with Teams Rooms, and then add your own camera bar. The Core is an 11th-generation Core i5-1145G7E with 16 GB of soldered memory, up to 256 GB NVMe and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise for Collaboration; the Controller is a 10.1-inch touch panel. At S$3,765 it costs more than a NUC plus a third-party console, but it removes the configuration work and gives you one support contract for both pieces.

For a complete room in one SKU, the Jabra PanaCast 50 room system pairs the panoramic-4K PanaCast 50 bar with the ThinkSmart Core and Controller, ships configured for Teams Rooms on Windows, and is certified for rooms up to 4.5 m by 6 m, a typical medium meeting room in a Singapore office; at S$5,715 you add only displays and a licence. The Poly Studio Small Room Kit at S$3,235 bundles the Studio R30 USB bar, the GC8 touch controller and a Windows conferencing PC for huddle spaces, and the Large Room Kit at S$5,455 scales the formula to boardrooms. Poly has shipped these kits with different conferencing PCs over time, so confirm the compute model on your quotation.

HP Elite Slice G2: the budget compute, with a caveat

The HP Elite Slice G2 SRS Audio Ready at S$1,855 is a compact Windows compute with an integrated audio module (noise suppression and echo cancellation), 1080p Teams Rooms video support, Wi-Fi 6 and a wall-mountable modular design. It is the cheapest Teams Rooms compute on the store with audio built in, attractive for a small room that only needs a camera and a console added. The caveat is the operating system: it is listed with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, where Microsoft's current Teams Rooms on Windows platform is Windows 11. Confirm the upgrade path and support status with us before specifying it for a new room; for a five-year deployment, the NUC 15 Pro or ThinkSmart Core is the safer base.

Sizing the compute to the room

Huddle and small rooms (up to six people): NUC 15 Pro Tall Core 5 with a USB video bar and a console, or the Poly Studio Small Room Kit. Single display is normal. Medium rooms (six to twelve): NUC 15 Pro Tall Core 7 or Core Ultra 5 with a PanaCast 50 or Rally Bar class device and dual displays, or the Jabra PanaCast 50 bundle. Large rooms and boardrooms: Core Ultra 7 255H NUC with separate PTZ cameras, ceiling microphones and a DSP, or the Poly Studio Large Room Kit; this is where Windows-only features such as spatial audio and people recognition earn their keep. Whatever the size, plan one wired network drop per room. If the same organisation is also looking at AI-capable desktops, the NUC 16 Pro adds a 50 TOPS NPU and dual 2.5GbE; our ASUS Agent Computer guide explains where it and the Ascent QN10 sit for office and edge AI.
