The RUCKUS H550 is a wall-mounted dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) 2x2:2 access point with a built-in four-port gigabit switch, dual-concurrent BLE and Zigbee, and a USB port. RUCKUS rates it at up to 1774 Mbps (802.11ax) and up to 512 clients per AP, and designed it for hotel guest rooms, student residence halls, apartments and other MDUs.
Unleashed: Controller-Less Wi-Fi
This is the Unleashed edition (part number prefix 9U1-). RUCKUS Unleashed access points carry an embedded controller, so there is no separate controller appliance or cloud subscription to buy. RUCKUS says you just plug it in and set it up from the RUCKUS Unleashed mobile app or any web browser, and add capacity by plugging in another Unleashed AP. Unleashed also manages RUCKUS ICX switches, and includes guest services, Dynamic PSK and SmartMesh wireless meshing.
802.3af PoE Out (WW00)
This -WW00 version has four 1GbE LAN ports, one of which supplies standards-based 802.3af PoE out; the -WW02 version supplies 48 V passive PoE out instead. Power an IP phone or other 802.3af device straight from the wall plate.
Fits a Standard Wall Box
The H550 installs over an electrical wall box or a standard US or EU single-gang wall jack, with an optional bracket for surface mounting. It takes an 802.3bt (Class 5) PoE uplink.
Supplied in Singapore with Local Warranty

Compatibility & Software Support
Management
This 9U1- part ships as an Unleashed AP: set up and managed from the RUCKUS Unleashed mobile app or a web browser, with no controller hardware. RUCKUS lists the H550 hardware as supported by SmartZone, ZoneDirector, Unleashed, cloud and standalone management — if you plan to run a controller or RUCKUS One from day one, the non-Unleashed part 901-H550-WW00 is the usual order.
Mixing with Other RUCKUS Gear
Unleashed can manage RUCKUS ICX switches alongside the access points. SmartMesh gives self-healing mesh links, and the H550 works with Cloudpath, the SPoT location engine, RUCKUS Analytics and SmartCell Insight.
What It Is Suited To
RUCKUS positions the H550 for converged services in hospitality and residential locations — hotel guest rooms, student residence halls, apartments and other MDU structures — where phones, set-top boxes and IoT devices share the wall plate with Wi-Fi.
