The NETGEAR XS508TM is an S3600 Series Smart switch with 8 x 10G/5G/2.5G/1G RJ-45 copper ports and 2 dedicated 1G/10G SFP+ fibre ports (10 ports in total). NETGEAR notes there is no requirement to upgrade your cabling beyond Cat5e to take advantage of Multi-Gig speeds.
Non-Blocking 10G Performance
NETGEAR rates the XS508TM at 200 Gbps non-blocking switching capacity and a 148.8 Mpps forwarding rate, with a 16K MAC address table, 2 MB packet buffer and jumbo frames up to 9K.
Local Web Management or Optional Insight Cloud Management
Manage the switch locally through the web browser GUI or Lite CLI, or optionally through NETGEAR Insight for remote/cloud management from the Insight mobile app or Insight Cloud portal, with zero-touch device auto-join and firmware upgrades direct from the cloud.
Smart L2+ / L3 Lite Features in a Compact Chassis
512 VLANs with Auto-VoIP, private VLANs and MVR, IPv4/IPv6 static routing, LACP link aggregation (8 LAGs, up to 8 members), DiffServ QoS with 8 priority queues, IGMP/MLD snooping, 802.1X, DHCP snooping and Dynamic ARP Inspection, plus dual firmware images. The 330 mm-wide chassis sits on a desk, mounts on a wall or goes in a 19-inch rack, with wall- and rack-mount kits in the box.
