The ThinkVision E20-30 is a 19.5-inch business display running 1600 x 900 at 60 Hz. It is not a primary workhorse monitor and is not sold as one — it earns its place as a second screen beside a laptop, at a reception counter, on a point-of-sale station or anywhere a full-size panel will not fit.
Read the Panel Specification Before You Buy
Two things are worth stating plainly rather than glossing. The panel is TN, not IPS, with viewing angles of 170° horizontal and 160° vertical — fine head-on, but colour and contrast shift when viewed from the side. And the resolution is 1600 x 900, not Full HD. Our previous version of this page said 1366 x 768 and quoted a 600:1 contrast ratio; both were wrong against Lenovo's own specification and are corrected here.
Genuinely Frugal: 12 W Typical, EPEAT Silver, TCO Certified 9.0
At 12 W typical and 15 W maximum with an internal power supply, the E20-30 is one of the lightest loads Lenovo sells. It is ENERGY STAR certified, EPEAT Silver registered and TCO Certified 9.0 with TCO edge 2.0 — which matters when a tender asks for environmental credentials on every line item, not just the laptops.
HDMI and VGA, With the HDMI Cable Included
Video connects over HDMI 1.4 or VGA. The VGA input is the reason this model persists in fleets: it drives from legacy thin clients, KVM switches and older docks that newer displays have dropped. Note there is no DisplayPort, no USB, no speakers and no headphone output — this is a display and nothing else.

Compatibility & Fit
Buy this monitor for what it is. A 19.5-inch TN panel at 1600 x 900 is not a screen anyone should spend eight hours reading on. It is a very good second display beside a laptop, a counter screen, a machine-monitoring display, or the answer when a desk physically cannot take anything larger. At 2.5 kg and 12 W it is also the easiest monitor in this range to put somewhere awkward.
What a TN panel means day to day. Head-on the image is fine. Move off axis — a colleague leaning in, the screen mounted above or below eye level, a second person at the counter — and colour and contrast shift visibly. Lenovo publishes 170° and 160° against 178° in both axes for the IPS models beside it. If more than one person will look at this screen at once, choose an IPS model instead; the S22-4e in the ordering table is IPS at a similar price.
VGA is why this model still sells. Alongside HDMI 1.4 there is a VGA input, which drives from older thin clients, analogue KVM switches, laboratory instruments and industrial panels. If that is your situation, the E20-30 and the P25i-30 are the two monitors in our ThinkVision range with the port.
Note this is the WW part number. We also list the MY-suffix version of the same model separately. Lenovo publishes no specification difference between suffixes — they are market and channel designators. Ask us which is in stock and we will quote whichever serves you better.
Where the E and S series sit in Lenovo's own words. Lenovo positions the ThinkVision E series as "Comfortable Viewing for Everyday Users" and the S series as "Basic Displays for Simple Experiences", against "Enhanced Productivity" for the T series and "Best-in-Class Performance" for the P series. Lenovo publishes no expansion of what the letters stand for, so neither do we. In practice the difference that matters on a desk is the stand: most E and S models are tilt-only, while every T and P model offers 155 mm of height adjustment, swivel and pivot.

Is it Full HD?
No. The E20-30 is 1600 x 900. Our previous version of this page said 1366 x 768, which was also wrong. Lenovo's specification is 1600 x 900 across a 19.5-inch panel, or 94 dpi.
Is the panel IPS?
No — it is TN, with viewing angles of 170° horizontal and 160° vertical. Off-axis the colour and contrast shift. Every other monitor in this ordering table except the C24-40 and S25e-30 (which are VA) is IPS at 178° in both axes.
What is the contrast ratio?
1000:1 typical, with a 3,000,000:1 dynamic figure. Our earlier page said 600:1, which does not appear in any Lenovo document and has been removed.
Does the stand adjust for height?
No. Lenovo publishes tilt only, -5° to +22°, on a fixed-height stand — there is no height adjustment, no swivel and no pivot. That is the main thing separating this monitor from the ThinkVision T-series, which offers 155 mm of lift. If getting the screen to eye level matters — and for anyone at a desk all day it should — budget for a VESA 100 x 100 mm monitor arm, which we can quote alongside.
Does it have USB ports?
No. Lenovo publishes no USB ports of any kind on this model. If you need a monitor that also acts as a USB hub, or that docks a laptop over USB-C, the ThinkVision T-series and P-series are the ranges to look at — tell us what the desk needs and we will point you at the right one.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
Lenovo PSREF states a 3-year limited warranty as the base warranty for this model, and every unit SourceIT sells comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
