APC NetShelter Power Cord Kit 5 Pack IEC C13 to C14 0.6m Black
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC NetShelter Power Cord Kit (5 ea), IEC C13 to C14, 0.6 m (AP9890) - 2 Years Local Warranty
Five Short Cords for a Tidy Rack
The APC NetShelter Power Cord Kit AP9890 is a pack of five 0.6 m IEC 60320 C13 to C14 cords. Each has a C14 plug for a PDU, UPS or Rack ATS outlet and a C13 connector for the inlet on a server, switch or appliance. The point of 0.6 m is that a zero-U PDU on the rear rail is never more than a few hundred millimetres from the equipment beside it - a 1.8 m equipment cord in that position is 1.2 m of slack to coil, tie and eventually snag.
Rated for the Full C13/C14 Coupler
Schneider prints the kit at 230 V AC. IEC 60320 rates the C13/C14 coupler at 10 A, which is also the limit of the C14 inlet on any device the cord feeds, so one cord per device is always within rating. Schneider lists the kit for use with APC rack-mount PDUs and outlet strips, MasterSwitch units, Rack ATS, UPS and separate branch circuits.
Why Short Cords Matter
Excess cable in the rear of a rack blocks airflow from the equipment exhaust, hides the PDU's outlet numbering, and is the thing that gets pulled when someone slides a server out on its rails. Five 0.6 m cords replace five coils of surplus with five straight runs, which also makes it obvious which outlet feeds which device when you are power-cycling a hung box over the PDU's web interface.
VDE Certified, Supplied Locally in Singapore with GST Invoice
Schneider lists the AP9890 as VDE certified and EU RoHS compliant, with a 2-year repair-or-replace warranty. SourceIT supplies it with a GST invoice and local Singapore warranty support; order one kit per five devices on a zero-U PDU and the rack rear stays readable.

Compatibility & Fit
Where it goes. C14 plug into a C13 outlet on a PDU, UPS, Rack ATS or bypass PDU; C13 connector into the C14 inlet on the equipment. Schneider's own compatibility note lists APC rack-mount PDUs and outlet strips, MasterSwitch, Automatic Transfer Switches, UPS and separate branch circuits.
Best with a zero-U PDU. The 0.6 m length is sized for a vertical PDU on the rear rail with the equipment inlets a few hundred millimetres away: AP7552 zero-U basic PDU (20 C13, 4 C19, C20 inlet), AP8853 metered zero-U PDU (36 C13, 6 C19) and the EPDU1010B-SCH Easy Rack PDU (C14 inlet). It also suits a 1U PDU or a Rack ATS such as the AP4421A Rack ATS (C14 in, 12 C13 out) or AP4423A Rack ATS (C20 in, 8 C13 and 1 C19 out) feeding the two or three devices immediately above and below it.
Too short for bottom-to-top runs. From a UPS or 1U PDU at the bottom of a 42U rack to a device near the top, 0.6 m will not reach - that is what the 2.5 m AP9870 is for. Mix the two: short cords for the devices near the PDU, long cords for the outliers.
Rating. One cord per device. A C14 inlet cannot draw more than the C13/C14 coupler's 10 A rating, so any single device is within limits. Do not use a cord from this kit to feed a multi-way strip.
Locking alternative. The AP8704S-WW locking C13 to C14 cord kit, 6 x 1.2 m gives six locking cords at 1.2 m for outlets that must not be knocked loose. Standard cords like the AP9890 rely on the connector's own friction fit.
IEC Connector Guide
Rack power cords are named by the IEC 60320 coupler on each end. The socket side of a coupler is the odd number and the pin side is the even number, so a C14 plug goes into a C13 outlet and a C19 connector goes onto a C20 inlet.
| Connector | Found on | Mates with | Rating |
| C13 (socket) | Cord end that goes into equipment; PDU, UPS and ATS outlets | C14 | 10 A |
| C14 (pins) | Cord plug; inlet on servers, switches, 10 A PDUs and UPS units | C13 | 10 A |
| C19 (socket) | Cord end for high-power equipment; outlets on larger UPS, ATS and PDUs | C20 | 16 A (IEC) |
| C20 (pins) | Cord plug; inlet on 16 A PDUs, Rack ATS and high-power servers | C19 | 16 A (IEC) |
| IEC 60309 16 A 2P+E (blue commando) | Wall and busway sockets, UPS and bypass outlets, captive PDU and ATS input cords | IEC 60309 16 A socket | 16 A |
Not one of these is a BS 1363 (Type G) wall plug. In a Singapore rack the mains connection is normally made once, at the UPS or PDU input, and everything downstream is IEC to IEC.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC AP9890
How many cords are in the kit?
Five, each 0.6 m, each C13 to C14. Schneider sells them as a kit rather than singly; for a rack with twelve devices on a zero-U PDU, order three kits.
Is 0.6 m really long enough?
For equipment beside a zero-U PDU on the rear rail, yes - the inlet is typically 200 to 400 mm from the nearest outlet. For a device several U away from a horizontal PDU, or anything fed from a UPS at the bottom of the rack, use the 2.5 m AP9870 instead. Most tidy racks use both.
How much current can each cord carry?
Schneider does not print a current figure for this kit, but the IEC 60320 C13/C14 coupler it uses is a 10 A connector, the same as every C14 inlet it will plug into. One cord per device is always within rating.
What is the difference between this and the AP8704S-WW kit?
Length, count and locking. The AP9890 is five non-locking 0.6 m cords. The AP8704S-WW locking C13 to C14 cord kit, 6 x 1.2 m is six locking 1.2 m cords whose C13 end latches into the outlet. Choose the locking kit where accidental disconnection is a real risk; choose the AP9890 for short runs where neatness is the goal.
Can I use these on a Rack ATS?
Yes, on the output side. Schneider lists Automatic Transfer Switches among the intended hosts, and the AP4421A Rack ATS (C14 in, 12 C13 out) and AP4423A Rack ATS (C20 in, 8 C13 and 1 C19 out) have C13 outlets. They are not ATS input cords.
Will they work with non-APC PDUs and servers?
Yes. IEC 60320 C13 and C14 are the universal IT connectors; any PDU with C13 outlets and any device with a C14 inlet accepts them, whatever the brand. The reason to buy the APC kit rather than a loose bag of cords is consistency: five identical black 0.6 m cords from a VDE-certified range, with a part number your purchasing team can reorder and a manufacturer warranty behind them.
Will this plug into a Singapore wall socket?
No. Each AP9890 cord has an IEC C14 plug and an IEC C13 connector. Singapore wall sockets are BS 1363 (Type G), and none of the connectors on this cord are BS 1363. The normal Singapore arrangement is an IEC-fed rack PDU or a UPS with IEC outlets, with cords like this one running from those outlets to the equipment. If you need a BS 1363 to IEC lead for a UPS or PDU input, ask us separately.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every APC AP9890 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC by Schneider Electric backs its NetShelter power cords with a 2-year repair-or-replace manufacturer warranty.
