ASUS NUC Buyer's Guide 2026: NUC 15 Pro vs NUC 15 Pro+ vs NUC 16 Pro in Singapore

Posted by Wei Fei on

ASUS took over the NUC line from Intel in 2023 and has shipped a new generation every year since. In 2026 there are three families on sale in Singapore under the NUC badge — the mainstream NUC 15 Pro (Slim and Tall), the premium NUC 15 Pro+, and the new Panther Lake NUC 16 Pro — plus the gaming-grade ROG NUC, which gets its own guide. All share the formula that made the NUC the default business mini PC: a sub-litre chassis that mounts behind a monitor, a full set of business I/O, toolless upgrades and a three-year commercial warranty. This guide explains the differences, lists every configuration SourceIT stocks with pricing, and tells you which one to buy for office desktops, meeting rooms, digital signage and local AI.

ASUS NUC range at a glance

Family Processor Graphics / NPU Memory Size Entry price (SGD)
NUC 15 Pro Slim / Tall Intel Core 3 100U to Core Ultra 7 255H (Arrow Lake) Intel Arc 130T/140T on Core Ultra; NPU up to 13 TOPS 2x DDR5 SODIMM, up to 96 GB 0.48 L (Slim) / 0.7 L (Tall) Barebone from S$510; full kits from S$1,070
NUC 15 Pro+ Intel Core Ultra 9 285H Intel Arc 140T; platform up to 99 TOPS 2x DDR5 SODIMM, up to 96 GB 0.7 L aluminium S$3,285 (32 GB / 1 TB)
NUC 16 Pro Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake): Core Ultra 5, Ultra 7 356H, Ultra X7 358H, Ultra X9 388H Intel Graphics (4 Xe3) on 356H; Arc B390 (12 Xe3) on X7/X9; NPU 50 TOPS LPDDR5X-9600 on-board up to 96 GB (X models); DDR5 SODIMM up to 128 GB (356H) 0.7 L From S$1,955
ROG NUC 15 / 16 Core Ultra 9 275HX / 290HX Plus GeForce RTX 5060 to RTX 5080 Laptop 2x DDR5 SODIMM, up to 64 GB 3 L From S$2,925

NUC 15 Pro — the mainstream business NUC

The NUC 15 Pro (codename Cyber Canyon) is the volume model. It comes in two chassis heights: the Slim at 0.48 litres for pure desk-mount use, and the Tall at 0.7 litres, which adds a 2.5-inch drive bay and is the one to pick for Teams Rooms or anywhere you want a second drive. The processor ladder runs from the entry Intel Core 3 100U through the Core 5 210H and Core 7 240H to the Arrow Lake Core Ultra 5 225H and Core Ultra 7 255H at the top. Every configuration has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 2.1 alt-mode and two HDMI, so four 4K displays are standard; PCIe 5.0 primary storage is on the Core Ultra tiers only.

SourceIT stocks the NUC 15 Pro two ways. Barebone kits — you add RAM, SSD and OS — start at S$510 for the Core 3 100U, S$655 for the Core 5 210H and S$840 for the Core 7 240H. Full kits with Windows 11 Pro run from the Tall Core 3 100U 8 GB / 512 GB at S$1,070 through the Tall Core 7 240H 16 GB / 512 GB at S$1,715 to the Core Ultra 7 255H 16 GB / 1 TB. Barebones are the better value for IT teams that image their own machines; full kits are the faster path for a single deployment.

NUC 15 Pro+ — the premium slim flagship

The Pro+ is a single flagship rather than a range: Intel Core Ultra 9 285H (16 cores, up to 5.4 GHz) with Arc 140T graphics in a slim anodised-aluminium chassis, with the same dual Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7 as the Pro. ASUS quotes up to 99 platform TOPS and an 18 percent performance uplift over the previous generation. It is the NUC for the executive desk or the creator who wants a Mac mini-class machine on Windows, and the one to pick for vPro fleets that need the fastest H-series chip. SourceIT stocks the NUC 15 Pro+ Slim Core Ultra 9 285H 32 GB / 1 TB with Windows 11 Pro at S$3,285.

NUC 16 Pro — Panther Lake, 50 TOPS NPU and local AI

Announced at CES 2026, the NUC 16 Pro is the first NUC on Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake). The chassis grew slightly wider to 144 x 117 x 42 mm but stays at 0.7 litres, with a dual-fan cooler and a toolless lid. The headline changes are the 50 TOPS NPU on every SKU and, on the Core Ultra X7 358H and X9 388H, the Arc B390 integrated GPU with twelve Xe3 cores — the part that turns the NUC from "runs Copilot features" into "runs a 7B–14B model locally at usable speed". ASUS claims up to 20 percent more performance and 50 percent lower power than the NUC 15 generation.

Two memory architectures sit inside one family, and this is the main buying decision. The Core Ultra 7 356H uses two DDR5 SODIMM slots (up to 128 GB) and the smaller 4-Xe3-core graphics — upgradable, cheaper, aimed at CPU-bound office work. The X7 358H and X9 388H use soldered LPDDR5X-9600 (up to 96 GB) feeding the Arc B390 — faster for graphics and AI, but you must buy the memory you will ever need. Both have two M.2 2280 slots (one PCIe 5.0 x4, one PCIe 4.0 x4) for up to 16 TB, dual Thunderbolt 4, two HDMI 2.1, dual 2.5GbE, four 10 Gbps USB-A, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

SourceIT's NUC 16 Pro configurations, all with Windows 11 Pro: Core Ultra 5 16 GB / 512 GB at S$1,955, Core Ultra 7 356H 16 GB / 512 GB at S$2,155, Core Ultra X7 358H 32 GB / 1 TB at S$2,935, Core Ultra X9 388H 32 GB / 1 TB at S$3,390 and Core Ultra X9 388H 64 GB / 1 TB at S$4,420. For local AI, the 64 GB X9 is the one — memory, not NPU TOPS, sets the model-size ceiling.

NUC 15 Pro vs NUC 16 Pro: should you wait, upgrade, or buy the older one?

Buy the NUC 15 Pro if the job is Windows office work, a Teams or Zoom Room, point-of-sale or signage, and the budget matters: it is cheaper, the barebone options are wider, and every configuration has socketed RAM. The Arrow Lake Core Ultra chips are more than enough for Microsoft 365 and video calls.

Buy the NUC 16 Pro if you want the 50 TOPS NPU for Copilot+ features and Windows Recall-class workloads, if you plan to run small language models or vision models on the box, if dual 2.5GbE matters (the 15 Pro has one LAN port), or if you want the longest support runway — Panther Lake is the platform ASUS will build on through 2027.

Buy the NUC 15 Pro+ only if you want Arrow Lake's Core Ultra 9 285H specifically — the NUC 16 Pro X9 388H now beats it on graphics and NPU at a similar price, so the Pro+ is mostly for fleets standardising on the 2025 platform.

ASUS NUC for meeting rooms, signage and edge

The NUC is the de-facto compute for certified Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms on Windows; our room kits bundle the NUC 15 Pro with Logitech, Poly and Jabra peripherals. For digital signage and kiosks the Tall chassis with a Core 3 or Core 5 is the cost-effective choice, and for edge AI — a camera feed, a local classifier, a retrieval assistant on a shop floor — the NUC 16 Pro X9 is the x86 answer, with the Arm-based Ascent QN10 as the lower-power alternative when the workload is NPU-native. If the model is bigger than 14B parameters, step up to the Ascent GX10 — see our ASUS Agent Computer guide for the full ladder.

Frequently asked questions

Is ASUS NUC the same as Intel NUC? Yes — ASUS licensed the NUC brand and design from Intel in 2023 and now develops and manufactures every NUC. Accessories, mounts and most power adapters carry over.

What is the difference between NUC 15 Pro Slim and Tall? Same motherboard and ports; the Tall chassis is 0.7 litres instead of 0.48 and adds a 2.5-inch drive bay.

What does "barebone" mean? The kit ships without memory, storage or an operating system. You install your own RAM, M.2 SSD and Windows or Linux — cheaper for IT teams that image their own fleet.

Can the NUC 16 Pro run local AI models? Yes. The X7 358H and X9 388H with Arc B390 graphics run 7B–14B language models through Ollama or LM Studio at usable speeds, and the 50 TOPS NPU handles Copilot+ and vision workloads. For 70B-class models you need the Ascent GX10.

Is the NUC 16 Pro memory upgradable? On the Core Ultra 7 356H, yes (two DDR5 SODIMM slots, up to 128 GB). On the X7 358H and X9 388H the LPDDR5X is soldered, so buy the capacity you need.

Which NUC for Microsoft Teams Rooms? The NUC 15 Pro Tall with a Core Ultra 5 or 7 is the certified MTR-on-Windows compute in current room kits.

What warranty do ASUS NUCs have in Singapore? Three-year commercial warranty on business models supplied by SourceIT; confirm the exact terms per SKU when requesting a quote.
