Poly EncorePro 515 USB Mono Headset — Specifications at a Glance

The Poly EncorePro 515 is the single-ear USB model in HP’s EncorePro 500 contact-centre range. HP publishes a full specification for this part number: a noise-cancelling microphone running 35 Hz to 21 kHz, a 30 mm speaker covering 20 Hz to 20 kHz, microphone sensitivity of -40 +/-3 dB with a signal-to-noise ratio above 53 dB, and a 135 mm boom that rotates 290°. At 52 g on a 2085 mm cable, it is built for agents who wear a headset for a full shift rather than for a call here and there.

Noise-Cancelling Microphone Built for an Open Floor

HP specifies a noise-cancelling microphone on this model. On an open contact-centre floor the microphone has to pick one agent’s voice out of a dozen neighbouring conversations, and that is exactly the job a noise-cancelling boom is designed for. The 290° rotation and 135 mm boom length mean the microphone can be positioned consistently from agent to agent, which matters when headsets are shared across shifts.

SoundGuard Digital Hearing Protection for Full-Shift Calling

HP lists SoundGuard Digital acoustic protection on this part number. For staff who are on calls for an entire shift, acoustic limiting is not a luxury — it is the control that stops a line fault or a feedback squeal from causing injury, and it is a large part of why contact centres standardise on purpose-built headsets instead of consumer ones. Singapore employers with duty-of-care obligations to call-handling staff should treat it as a requirement, not a bonus.

One Headset for USB-A Desktops and USB-C Laptops

HP’s EncorePro 500 Series page describes built-in USB-A and USB-C connectors on the same cable, and the compatibility statement for this part number reads “compatible with PCs via USB Type-A cable or USB Type-A/C® adapter”. For a Singapore office part-way through a hardware refresh that is the practical win: one SKU covers the older USB-A desktops and the newer USB-C-only laptops, so you are not buying dongles or splitting the order in two.

Buying the Poly EncorePro 515 in Singapore

SourceIT supplies the Poly EncorePro 515 USB to Singapore businesses with local warranty and a GST invoice, and can quote volume pricing for contact-centre rollouts. If you are standardising a floor, talk to us about mixing single-ear and dual-ear models on the same order — supervisors and floor-walkers usually want something different from seated agents.

Compatibility & Software Support

Operating systems

HP lists Windows 11, Windows 10 and macOS as the supported operating systems for this part number. The headset presents itself to the computer as a standard USB audio device, so it is recognised without a driver install — which is what makes it practical to hand out across a floor of mixed Windows and Mac machines.

Softphones and meeting platforms

HP does not publish a named Microsoft Teams certification for this part number — that is the EncorePro 515-M. Because the 515 presents as a standard USB audio device it is selectable as microphone and speaker in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, Genesys, Avaya and other softphones, and HP describes the range as optimised for major virtual meeting platforms. If your tender requires a certified Teams device, order the 515-M instead.

USB-A and USB-C

HP’s compatibility statement for this part number reads “compatible with PCs via USB Type-A cable or USB Type-A/C® adapter”, and HP’s EncorePro 500 Series page describes “built-in USB-A and USB-C connectors on the same cable”. In practice that means the same headset covers an older desktop with USB-A ports and a newer USB-C-only laptop without buying a separate dongle — useful in Singapore offices that are part-way through a hardware refresh.

Poly Lens device management

HP lists Poly Lens support for the EncorePro 500 Series. Poly Lens is HP’s cloud device-management service: it lets IT see which headsets are deployed, push firmware and settings, and check device health across sites, rather than chasing individual desks. For a contact centre standardising on one model this is the difference between a managed estate and a drawer of unknown hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions — Poly EncorePro 515 USB

What is the difference between the EncorePro 515 and the 515-M?

The 515-M is the Microsoft Teams certified build. HP titles it “Microsoft Teams Certified” and its page describes a dedicated Teams button on the inline control for instant access to the app. The plain 515 on this page has no published Teams certification. Everything acoustic is identical between them — same 30 mm speaker, same 35 Hz to 21 kHz microphone, same 52 g weight. Choose the -M only if Teams certification or the Teams button matters to you.

Should I choose single-ear or dual-ear?

Single-ear (monaural), as here, leaves one ear open so agents stay aware of the room and can talk to a supervisor without taking the headset off — usually preferred for floor-walkers, smaller teams and staff who move between calls and desk work. Dual-ear helps agents concentrate on a noisy open floor. The dual-ear equivalent of this model is the EncorePro 525.

How does the EncorePro 500 range compare with the 700 range?

HP positions the 700 range above the 500. The published specifications differ in ways you can actually see: the 500 models use a 30 mm speaker with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz range and foam ear cushions, while the 700 models use a 28 mm speaker rated 150 Hz to 6.8 kHz with artificial-leather cushions and an extendable 120–145 mm boom. The 700 models are also published by HP as TAA builds. Compare the EncorePro 715 USB for the 700 Series equivalent of this headset.

Do I need an adapter, amplifier or licence to use it?

No. It terminates in USB and is bus-powered, so it works the moment you plug it into a PC or Mac — no amplifier, no power supply, no battery and no licence. That is the main practical difference from the Quick Disconnect EncorePro models, which cannot connect to anything without a separate adapter.

What accessories are available for it?

Poly sells replacement ear cushions for the EncorePro 500 range as a consumable — on a shared or hot-desked floor these are usually replaced periodically for hygiene rather than because they have failed. Ask us to include spares in a rollout quote so you are not reordering in three months.

Which operating systems does HP support?

HP lists Windows 11, Windows 10 and macOS for this part number. Because it appears to the computer as a standard USB audio device, no driver installation is required.

Does the Poly EncorePro 515 USB come with a Singapore warranty?

Yes. Every Poly EncorePro 515 USB sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.
