PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Lenovo ThinkSystem SR655 V3 2U Rack Server (Configure-to-Order) - Local Warranty
2U, Single-Socket AMD EPYC Performance
The Lenovo ThinkSystem SR655 V3 is a 2U, one-socket rack server built on a single AMD EPYC processor: 5th Gen EPYC 9005 with up to 160 cores and 400 W TDP, or 4th Gen EPYC 9004 with up to 128 cores. 12 DDR5 DIMM slots take up to 3 TB of memory at up to 6400 MHz with 5th Gen EPYC.
Storage and GPU Capacity From One Socket
Front, mid and rear bays give up to 20 x 3.5-inch or 40 x 2.5-inch hot-swap drives. Up to 10 PCIe slots, most of them PCIe 5.0, plus an OCP 3.0 slot, and support for up to three double-wide or eight single-width GPUs make it a fit for AI inference, VDI, OLTP, analytics and software-defined storage.
Managed by Lenovo XClarity
XClarity Controller 2 (XCC2) provides embedded out-of-band management, with an optional XCC Platinum upgrade. TPM 2.0, Platform Firmware Resiliency and an optional lockable bezel secure the platform.

How to Configure Your Server — Sizing Checklist
Servers are built to order. Answer the questions below so we can size the right configuration for you.
Step 1: Hardware Requirements
- Which server form factor do you need: tower or rackmount?
- How many CPU cores, how much RAM and how much usable storage capacity do you require?
- How many processors: single-socket (1S), dual-socket (2S) or four-socket (4S)?
- Which RAID configuration do you need? Any specific HDD or SSD type, such as 7.2K or 10K rpm drives?
- Which network interface is required: 1GbE Base-T, SFP+ or Fibre Channel?
- How many years of maintenance support do you need? (Minimum 3 years)
Step 2: Deployment & Services
- How many server units are required?
- Will you run virtual machine workloads? Do you need a VMware licence, or Windows Server with Hyper-V?
- How do you store data today? Do you have existing NAS or SAN storage?
- How do you back up today? Would you like a backup proposal, such as an IDPA 8TB appliance?
- Do you require burn-in test services?
- Do you need hard disk retention services?

Frequently Asked Questions — Lenovo ThinkSystem SR655 V3
Is this a fixed configuration?
No. The SR655 V3 is configure-to-order. Processor, memory, drives, storage controller, network adapters, power supplies and the support term are specified to your workload; use the sizing checklist above to brief us.
How much memory can it take?
12 DDR5 DIMM slots for up to 3 TB, running at up to 6400 MHz with a 5th Gen AMD EPYC processor.
Why choose a single-socket server?
A single 5th Gen AMD EPYC processor provides up to 160 cores and 12 DDR5 memory channels, so many virtualisation, VDI, database and storage workloads run on one socket.
Does it support GPUs?
Yes, up to three double-wide or eight single-width GPUs.
SR655 V3 or SR665 V3?
Both are 2U AMD EPYC servers with the same drive bay options. The SR655 V3 takes one processor and up to 3 TB of memory; the SR665 V3 takes two processors and up to 6 TB.
