What you can plug in. The SRT8KXLI provides (6) IEC 60320 C13 and (4) IEC 60320 C19 outlets, plus a hard-wire output terminal sized for 16 mm² / 6 AWG. Output full-load current is 38 A. Total the real power draw (watts) of the equipment you intend to protect and keep it below the 8,000 W rating — runtime falls sharply as load rises.

Runtime depends on load. Runtime is not linear: halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Schneider does not publish a runtime table for this model that we are able to cite, so rather than quote a figure we cannot source, ask SourceIT for a runtime calculation against your measured load.

Extended runtime. Connect up to ten SRT192BP2 external battery packs on the ±192 VDC bus, using the supplied 500 mm XLBP cable. Recharge time increases with each pack added, and each pack has a keyed mating connector that only fits its corresponding UPS — APC does not support third-party packs. The rackmount equivalent is the SRT192RMBP2.

Rack fit. The chassis measures 263 mm (H) x 432 mm (W) x 715 mm (D) and takes 6U when rack-mounted, but this SKU is the tower build and ships without a rail kit — Schneider lists SRTRK2 and SRTRK3 as the optional kits. If the unit is going into a cabinet from day one, the SRT8KRMXLI is the rackmount build with rails included. Net weight is 111.8 kg, so mount it at the bottom of the rack and plan the handling.

Input and circuit — read this before ordering. The SRT8KXLI is hard wired, with no input plug. It accepts either 220 / 230 / 240 Vac single phase or 380 / 400 / 415 Vac three phase at 40–70 Hz. Schneider specifies 16 mm² / 6 AWG conductors and a 63 A 2-pole breaker for single phase (63 A 4-pole for three phase); dual-feed wiring is supported. A licensed electrician must terminate it onto a suitably rated dedicated circuit — confirm the supply arrangement with your electrician and building management before delivery. This is the single most common cause of a delayed SRT installation in Singapore.

Network management. A network management card is included with this SKU, and Schneider's Singapore listing includes a one-year Secure Network Management Card subscription. The unit provides network, console, USB, serial, EPO and Universal I/O connections plus a SmartSlot for accessories such as the AP9613 Dry Contact I/O card or an AP9641 Network Management Card 3 with environmental monitoring for the AP9335TH sensor. Schneider does not publish a SmartSlot count for this model in the documents we can cite, so confirm with us if you need more than one accessory card.

What is the difference between the 8,000 VA and 8,000 W rating, and how do I size the SRT8KXLI?
VA is apparent power and W is real power. On most UPS families the watt figure is lower than the VA figure, and watts is what limits you — but the SRT8KXLI is a unity power factor design, so it delivers the full 8,000 W. Add up the real draw of everything you want on battery and keep the total below 8,000 W. Sizing to about 70–80% of that leaves headroom for inrush and future additions, and gives noticeably longer runtime.

How long will the SRT8KXLI run on battery?
That depends entirely on load, and we would rather give you a calculation than a marketing figure. Runtime is not linear — halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. For defined autonomy, add SRT192BP2 packs (up to 10) and ask SourceIT to size the configuration against your measured load.

Does the SRT8KXLI produce a sine wave output, and will it work with an active-PFC power supply?
Yes. Schneider describes the SRT8KXLI as a double-conversion on-line pure sine wave UPS, so the load is fed from the inverter continuously and the output is a true sine wave. That is exactly what active-PFC server and workstation power supplies expect — unlike the step-approximated output of many entry-level line-interactive and standby UPS units, which some active-PFC supplies reject outright.

What does the XLI suffix mean?
XLI denotes the extended-runtime international build in tower orientation, supplied without a rail kit. RMXLI is the same electronics as a rackmount build with rails included. Schneider also produces XLT and XLW variants for other regional voltages. These are genuinely different builds, not packaging variants — check the part number carefully against your tender, because rack height and what is in the box differ across near-identical numbers.

Can the SRT8KXLI run from a three-phase supply?
Yes. It accepts either 220 / 230 / 240 Vac single phase or 380 / 400 / 415 Vac three phase at 40–70 Hz. Full-load input current is 44 A on single phase or 15 A per phase on three phase, and Schneider specifies a 63 A breaker either way (2-pole for single phase, 4-pole for three phase). Output remains single phase.

Which replacement battery does the SRT8KXLI take, and can I change it myself?
The battery system is four sealed VRLA modules at 96 VDC each (±192 VDC total, 5 Ah per module), and the replacement cartridge is the APCRBC140. APC designs the SRT battery modules to be user-replaceable. Plan on replacement every three to five years; heat is the main determinant, so a cabinet or plant room that runs hot will shorten cartridge life.

How much rack space does the SRT8KXLI need, and is the rail kit included?

Is the SRT8KXLI covered by warranty in Singapore?
