APC Smart-UPS SRT 6000VA 230V
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Smart-UPS SRT 6000VA 230V (SRT6KXLI) - 2 Years Local Warranty
6 kVA / 6 kW Double-Conversion On-Line Power Protection for Singapore's 230V Mains
The APC Smart-UPS SRT 6000VA (SRT6KXLI) is an on-line, double-conversion UPS: incoming mains is rectified to DC and regenerated as a clean sine wave, so the load is fed from the inverter continuously rather than being switched over when the supply fails. On Singapore's 230V / 50Hz supply that matters most during the afternoon storm season, when PUB grid dips, brownouts and momentary interruptions are common enough to reset a server or corrupt a database write. Schneider rates output voltage distortion at less than 2% and fits an internal bypass (automatic and manual), so a fault in the inverter path does not have to mean a dropped load.
Unity Power Factor: 6,000 VA and a Full 6,000 W of Usable Output
Unlike older 0.9 power-factor designs, the SRT6KXLI delivers 6,000 W from its 6,000 VA rating — there is no watt derating to work around when you size the unit. Output is 230 V AC single phase (configurable to 220 V or 240 V) at 50/60 Hz ±3 Hz synchronised to mains, on (6) IEC 60320 C13, (4) IEC 60320 C19 and (2) IEC jumpers, plus a hard-wire output. A 3:1 crest factor gives headroom for the inrush of switch-mode server power supplies. Size on watts, not VA: total the real power draw of everything you intend to protect and keep it comfortably under 6,000 W.
Scalable Runtime with SRT192BP Battery Packs
Internal batteries are maintenance-free sealed lead-acid (VRLA) on a 192 V DC bus rated at 902 VAh, with a 597 W charger and a typical recharge time of 1.5 hours. Where you need longer autonomy the SRT6KXLI accepts up to ten SRT192BP external battery packs, taking the system from 2,706 VAh to 18,942 VAh. Schneider rates expected battery service life at three to five years; in a Singapore comms cabinet that figure is driven almost entirely by ambient temperature, so keep the room cool and dry. The unit is rated for 0–40°C operation at 0–95% non-condensing humidity.
Tower Chassis — Rail Kit Sold Separately
The SRT6KXLI is the tower orientation of the 6 kVA chassis, 432 mm (H) x 174 mm (W) x 719.4 mm (D), and it ships without a rail kit — Schneider lists SRTRK2 and SRTRK3 as the optional kits if you later need to rack it. If the deployment is rack-mounted from day one, order the SRT6KRMXLI instead: same electronics, 4U rackmount build, rails in the box. Net weight is 60 kg either way, so plan the lift and use two people.
Network Management Included, and Local Singapore Supply
A Web/SNMP network management card is supplied with the SRT6KXLI and one SmartSlot remains free, so you can reach the unit over SNMP and HTTPS without a separate accessory order, and still add an AP9613 Dry Contact I/O card or an AP9641 with environmental monitoring later. A multi-function LCD status and control console, prioritised audible and visible alarms, an emergency power off (EPO) connection and a temperature probe are all provided. Audible noise is 55 dBA and thermal dissipation 1,300 BTU/hr — budget both into a small comms room. SourceIT supplies the SRT6KXLI from Singapore with a GST invoice and local warranty support, so there is no overseas RMA and no import paperwork.

Compatibility & Runtime
What you can plug in. The SRT6KXLI provides (6) IEC 60320 C13, (2) IEC jumpers and (4) IEC 60320 C19 outlets, plus a hard-wire output. All outlets are battery-backed. Total the real power draw (watts) of the equipment you intend to protect and keep it below the 6,000 W rating — runtime falls sharply as load rises.
Runtime depends on load. Runtime is not linear: halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Schneider publishes the internal battery capacity as 902 VAh and the recharge time as 1.5 hours, but does not publish a runtime table for this model that we are able to cite, so rather than quote a figure we cannot source, ask SourceIT for a runtime calculation against your measured load.
Extended runtime. Connect up to ten SRT192BP external battery packs on the 192 V DC bus, taking total capacity from 2,706 VAh to 18,942 VAh. Recharge time increases with each pack added, and each pack has a keyed mating connector that only fits its corresponding UPS — APC does not support third-party packs. The rackmount SRT192RMBP is the pack for the rackmount SRT6KRMXLI, not for this tower unit.
Rack fit. This is the tower SKU: 432 mm (H) x 174 mm (W) x 719.4 mm (D), supplied with removable support feet and without a rail kit. Schneider lists SRTRK2 and SRTRK3 as the optional rail kits. If you know the unit is going into a cabinet, the SRT6KRMXLI is the 4U rackmount build with rails included.
Input and circuit — read this before ordering. The SRT6KXLI is hard wired: (1) hard wire 3-wire (1P + N + E). It does not arrive with a plug you can put into a wall socket — a licensed electrician must terminate it onto a suitably rated dedicated circuit. Confirm the supply arrangement and breaker rating with your electrician and building management before delivery. This is the single most common cause of a delayed SRT installation in Singapore.
Network management. A Web/SNMP network management card is supplied with the unit and one SmartSlot remains free, so you can add an AP9613 Dry Contact I/O card, or an AP9640 / AP9641 Network Management Card 3 — the AP9641 adds environmental monitoring inputs for the AP9335TH sensor. A temperature probe is included in the box.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC SRT6KXLI
What is the difference between the 6,000 VA and 6,000 W rating, and how do I size the SRT6KXLI?
VA is apparent power and W is real power. On most UPS families the watt figure is lower than the VA figure, and watts is what limits you — but the SRT6KXLI is a unity power factor design, so it delivers the full 6,000 W. Add up the real draw of everything you want on battery and keep the total below 6,000 W. Sizing to about 70–80% of that leaves headroom for inrush and future additions, and gives noticeably longer runtime.
How long will the SRT6KXLI run on battery?
That depends entirely on load, and we would rather give you a calculation than a marketing figure. Schneider publishes the internal capacity as 902 VAh with a 1.5-hour recharge time, but does not publish a runtime table for this model that we can cite. Runtime is not linear — halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. For defined autonomy, add SRT192BP packs (up to 10, taking the system to 18,942 VAh) and ask SourceIT to size the configuration against your measured load.
Does the SRT6KXLI produce a sine wave output, and will it work with an active-PFC power supply?
Yes. Schneider specifies a sine wave output with less than 2% voltage distortion, and the unit is an on-line double-conversion design, so the load is fed from the inverter continuously. That is exactly the output type active-PFC server and workstation power supplies expect — unlike the step-approximated output of many entry-level line-interactive and standby UPS units, which some active-PFC supplies reject outright.
What do the XLI and RMXLI suffixes mean?
They are genuinely different builds, not packaging variants. XLI is the tower orientation supplied without a rail kit; RMXLI is the rackmount build supplied with the rail kit included. Schneider also produces XLT and XLW variants for other regional voltages, and a separate -6W SKU with a longer registered warranty. Check the part number carefully against your tender — outlet counts, rack height and what is in the box differ across near-identical numbers.
Which replacement battery does the SRT6KXLI take, and can I change it myself?
Schneider compatibility FAQ FA349747 lists APCRBC140 for the SRT 5 kVA and 6 kVA models. APC designs the SRT battery modules to be user-replaceable and the front bezel comes off without tools. Schneider rates expected battery life at three to five years; heat is the main determinant, so a cabinet that runs hot will shorten cartridge life.
Does the SRT6KXLI come with a plug?
No — and this catches people out. The input is (1) hard wire 3-wire (1P + N + E). A licensed electrician must terminate it onto a dedicated circuit of suitable rating. Factor that into your installation schedule and confirm the supply with building management before the unit is delivered.
Can I rack-mount the SRT6KXLI?
The chassis is the same as the rackmount model, but this SKU ships in tower form with removable support feet and no rail kit — Schneider lists SRTRK2 and SRTRK3 as the optional kits. If the unit is going into a cabinet, the SRT6KRMXLI is the 4U rackmount build with rails, brackets and mounting hardware in the box, at the same 6,000 VA / 6,000 W rating.
Can I monitor the SRT6KXLI over the network?
Yes. A Web/SNMP network management card is supplied with the unit, and one SmartSlot remains free if you want to add an AP9613 Dry Contact I/O card or an AP9641 Network Management Card 3 with environmental monitoring for the AP9335TH sensor.
How does the SRT6KXLI compare with the SRT5KRMXLI?
Both are on-line double-conversion Smart-UPS SRT units. The SRT5KRMXLI is rated 5,000 VA / 4,500 W in a 3U rackmount chassis with rails included; the SRT6KXLI is rated 6,000 VA / 6,000 W as a tower without rails. If your load sits close to the boundary, take the larger unit — runtime and battery life both improve when a UPS is not run near its ceiling.
Is the SRT6KXLI covered by warranty in Singapore?
Yes. Every APC SRT6KXLI sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the SRT6KXLI with a 3-year manufacturer warranty on the UPS (repair or replace, excluding the battery) and 2 years on the battery.
