The APC SRT192RMBP is a 192 V DC external battery pack for the Smart-UPS On-Line SRT range, built to add autonomy to 5 kVA and 6 kVA (SRT5K / SRT6K) systems. Where the internal battery buys you a clean shutdown, an external pack buys you the option of riding an outage out — the difference between a controlled stop and continuous service for a Singapore server room or comms cabinet during a storm-season interruption on the PUB supply.

This pack is keyed to the 5 kVA and 6 kVA (SRT5K / SRT6K) band. Schneider is explicit that each external battery pack carries a keyed mating connector compatible only with its corresponding UPS, and that the UPS does not support any other make or type of battery pack — so the part number matters. Maintenance, Service Life and Singapore Conditions
The pack uses maintenance-free sealed lead-acid with suspended electrolyte, leakproof cells and takes the 2 x APCRBC140 replacement battery cartridge, so the batteries are a serviceable item rather than a reason to replace the whole pack. Heat is the main determinant of battery life: an unconditioned comms cupboard in Singapore will shorten service life noticeably compared with a cooled room. Schneider rates the pack for 0-40°C operation at 0-95% non-condensing humidity — keeping the cabinet cool is the cheapest life-extension measure available to you.

Keyed connector — the part number matters. Schneider states that each external battery pack has a keyed mating connector that is only compatible with its corresponding UPS, and that the UPS does not support any other make or type of battery pack. Can I mix this pack with a third-party battery pack?
