APC Smart-UPS SRT 1000VA 230V (SRT1000XLI) - 2 Years Local Warranty
Double-Conversion On-Line Power Protection for Singapore's 230V Mains
The APC Smart-UPS SRT 1 kVA (SRT1000XLI) is an on-line, double-conversion UPS: incoming mains is rectified to DC and regenerated as a clean sine wave output, so the load is fed from the inverter continuously rather than being switched over when the supply fails. On Singapore's 230V / 50Hz supply that matters most during the afternoon storm season, when PUB grid dips, brownouts and momentary interruptions are common enough to reset a server or corrupt a database write. Schneider specifies the SRT1000XLI to accept an input range of 176-275 V at full load; 100-275 V at 40% load at 40-70Hz auto-sensing, so it rides through sag and swell without drawing on the battery.
1,000 VA / 1,000 W of Sine Wave Output on (6) C13 Outlets
Schneider rates the SRT1000XLI at 1,000 VA / 1,000 W with a nominal 230V AC single-phase output at 50/60Hz (±3Hz, synchronised to mains) and a sine wave output waveform. The unity power factor means the watt rating equals the VA rating, so you get the full 1,000 W to a modern active-PFC server or network load rather than the derated figure typical of line-interactive units. Outlets are (6) IEC 60320 C13.
Runtime and Extended Runtime with SRT Battery Packs
Schneider's published runtime for the SRT1000XLI on its internal battery is 21.5 minutes at half load (500 W) and 8.4 minutes at full load (1,000 W) — enough to ride out a short outage or to shut a rack down cleanly. Where you need longer, the SRT1000XLI accepts external battery packs: the SRT48BP matches this unit's 48V battery bus, the UPS will recognise as many as ten packs, and the internal cartridge is the APCRBC155. Battery service life in a Singapore comms cabinet depends heavily on ambient temperature, so keep the room cool and dry; Schneider rates the unit for 0-40°C operation at 0-95% non-condensing humidity.
Tower Form Factor, Rack Convertible
The SRT1000XLI ships as a tower measuring 432 mm (H) x 85 mm (W) x 505 mm (D) and weighing 20.5 kg, sized for an office equipment room, a comms cupboard or under a desk where there is no cabinet. The chassis is the same convertible design used by the rackmount RMXLI variant, so it can be re-deployed into a 19-inch rack later — note that this SKU is supplied without a rail kit (the rail kit is a separate order), whereas the matching rackmount model ships with rails included.
Management, Monitoring and Local Singapore Supply
Serial (RJ45) and USB (Type A) interface ports are built in, together with an available SmartSlot for an APC Network Management Card 3 (AP9640 or AP9641) where you need SNMP, web access or EcoStruxure IT monitoring, and an emergency power off (EPO) connection. A multi-function LCD console gives status and configuration at the unit. Audible noise is rated at 50 dBA. SourceIT supplies the SRT1000XLI from Singapore stock with a GST invoice and local warranty support — no overseas RMA, no import paperwork.

Compatibility & Runtime
What you can plug in. The SRT1000XLI provides (6) IEC 60320 C13. All outlets are battery-backed. Total the real power draw (watts) of the equipment you intend to protect and keep it below the 1,000 W rating — runtime falls sharply as load rises, as the figures below show.
| Internal battery, half load (500 W) | 21.5 minutes |
| Internal battery, full load (1,000 W) | 8.4 minutes |
Runtime depends on load. These are Schneider's published estimates for a healthy battery at 25°C; real runtime varies with load, battery age and ambient temperature, which in an unconditioned Singapore comms cabinet can shorten battery life considerably.
Extended runtime. Connect SRT48BP (tower) or SRT48RMBP (rackmount) external battery packs on the 48V battery bus. The UPS will recognise as many as ten packs. Recharge time increases with each pack added.
Rack fit. Supplied as a tower without a rail kit. The chassis is rack-convertible in 2U, but the rails are a separate order — if you know it is going into a cabinet, the matching rackmount model ships with rails included.
Input and circuit. The SRT1000XLI input is IEC 60320 C14. At 1,000 W a dedicated 13A or 16A supply is the sensible provision; confirm the circuit with your electrician before installation.
Network management. The SmartSlot is supplied empty. Fit an AP9640 or AP9641 Network Management Card 3 for SNMP, HTTPS and EcoStruxure IT monitoring; the AP9641 adds environmental monitoring inputs for the AP9335TH sensor. Serial and USB are built in for direct PowerChute connection to a single host.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC SRT1000XLI
What is the difference between the 1,000 VA and 1,000 W rating, and how do I size the SRT1000XLI?
VA is apparent power and W is real power; equipment nameplates and PSU ratings are quoted in watts, and watts is the figure that limits you. Add up the real draw of everything you want on battery and keep the total below 1,000 W. Sizing to about 70-80% of that leaves headroom for inrush and for future additions, and gives noticeably longer runtime.
How long will the SRT1000XLI run on battery?
Schneider publishes 21.5 minutes at half load (500 W) and 8.4 minutes at full load (1,000 W) on the internal battery. Runtime is not linear with load — halving the load more than doubles the runtime. For longer autonomy, add SRT48BP or SRT48RMBP external battery packs; up to ten can be recognised by the UPS.
Does the SRT1000XLI produce a sine wave output, and will it work with an active-PFC power supply?
Schneider's datasheet for the SRT1000XLI states a sine wave output waveform, and the unit is an on-line double-conversion design, so the load is fed from the inverter continuously. That is the output type active-PFC server and workstation power supplies expect — unlike the step-approximated output of many entry-level line-interactive and standby UPS units, which some active-PFC supplies reject.
What do the XLI and RMXLI suffixes mean?
They are genuinely different builds, not packaging variants. XLI is the tower orientation supplied without a rail kit; RMXLI is the rackmount 2U build supplied with the rail kit included. Both are 230V international models with extended-runtime capability. Schneider also produces XLT, XLW and -NC (network card) variants of the SRT family that SourceIT does not stock in this band — check the part number carefully against your tender.
Which replacement battery does the SRT1000XLI take, and can I change it myself?
The SRT1000XLI uses the APCRBC155 replacement battery cartridge. APC designs the SRT battery modules to be user-replaceable, and the front bezel comes off without tools. Plan on replacement every three to five years; heat is the main determinant, so a cabinet that runs hot will shorten cartridge life.
Can the SRT1000XLI be rack mounted?
The chassis is the same convertible design as the rackmount variant and fits a 2U opening, but this SKU is supplied without a rail kit — you would need to order rails separately. If the unit is destined for a cabinet, the SRT1000RMXLI is the better order: same electrical specification, rails in the box.
Can I monitor the SRT1000XLI over the network?
Not out of the box — the SmartSlot ships empty. Fit an AP9640 or AP9641 Network Management Card 3 for SNMP, HTTPS, email alerting and EcoStruxure IT integration. For a single directly-attached host, the built-in USB or serial port with APC PowerChute is sufficient and costs nothing extra.
How does the SRT1000XLI compare with the SRT1500XLI?
Both are on-line double-conversion SRT units on the same platform. The SRT1000XLI is rated 1,000 VA / 1,000 W and the SRT1500XLI is rated 1,500 VA / 1,500 W. They share the same outlet configuration. If your load is close to the boundary, take the larger unit — runtime and battery life both improve when the UPS is not run near its ceiling. See SRT1500XLI.
Is the SRT1000XLI covered by warranty in Singapore?
Yes. Every APC SRT1000XLI sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the SRT1000XLI with a 3 years UPS electronics / 2 years battery manufacturer warranty.
