The APC Smart-UPS SMT750IC delivers 750VA / 500W of line-interactive backup power on Singapore's 230 V mains, with a true sine wave output that suits active-PFC server and workstation power supplies. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) corrects the sags and swells that come with PUB grid disturbances and afternoon storm season, so the unit rides through brownouts by boosting or trimming the mains rather than discharging the battery — which is what preserves battery life in a hot, humid climate.
SmartConnect Remote Monitoring Included — No Extra Card Required
The "IC" suffix means SmartConnect: a dedicated Ethernet port on the rear of the UPS that connects the unit to APC's SmartConnect cloud portal for status, firmware updates and alerting, with no management card to buy first. The SmartSlot bay stays free for a Network Management Card or environmental card if you later need SNMP, EcoStruxure IT or dry-contact integration for a comms cabinet you cannot easily reach.

The SMT750IC provides 6 x IEC C13 plus 2 IEC jumper leads. Every outlet is battery-backed and surge-protected. Size the load against the 500 W watt rating: a typical 1U rack server draws 150-300 W, a small NAS 40-80 W, a 24-port PoE switch 100-400 W depending on PoE budget, and a workstation with a single monitor 150-250 W. Laser printers should not be connected to a UPS outlet.
Input and circuit
Input is IEC 320 C14 inlet (detachable cord), accepting 160 - 280 V (standard), 151 - 302 V adjustable. In Singapore's 230 V / 50 Hz supply the unit runs on a standard mains circuit, but at this rating it should have a dedicated circuit of adequate current rather than sharing a busy general-purpose ring.
Runtime
Schneider does not publish a fixed runtime figure for the SMT750IC in its product data sheet, because runtime is entirely a function of load: halving the connected watts more than doubles the backup time. What is the difference between VA and watts, and which do I size against?
VA is apparent power and watts is real power. The SMT750IC is rated 750VA / 500W — add up the watt figures on your equipment's labels or power supplies and keep the total comfortably below 500 W, ideally at 50-70% of it so you retain useful runtime. Modern IT loads sit near unity power factor, so the watt rating is almost always the binding limit.
