APC NetShelter Power Cord IEC C19 to IEC 309 16A Plug 2.5m for Rack PDU
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC NetShelter Power Cord, IEC C19 to IEC 60309 16A Plug, 2.5 m (AP9876) - 2 Years Local Warranty
The 16 A Input Cord for C20-Inlet Rack PDUs
The APC NetShelter Power Cord AP9876 has an IEC 60309 16 A 2P+E plug - the blue commando plug - on one end and an IEC 60320 C19 connector on the other. It is the cord that takes a 16 A supply from a wall or busway socket, a UPS or a Rack ATS output, and feeds it into the C20 inlet of a rack PDU or other 16 A device. Schneider lists it for high-power applications and describes it as multi-region approved with regional input sockets.
Rated 16 A, 2.5 m Long
Schneider prints the AP9876 at 16 A rated and maximum line current, matching both the IEC 60309 16 A plug and the C19/C20 coupler rating. At 2.5 m it reaches from a commando socket on the wall or an overhead busway tap to a PDU inlet inside the cabinet, or from a UPS in one rack to a PDU in the next.
Why This Cord Matters in Singapore
Singapore server rooms distribute 16 A circuits on IEC 60309 commando sockets, and many APC PDUs at that rating - including the zero-U AP7552 - ship with a C20 inlet and no cord. Without an AP9876, a 16 A PDU sits unpowered. It is also the correct cord when a Rack ATS such as the AP4422A (IEC 60309 outlet) feeds a C20-inlet PDU: no adapters, no under-rated C13 cords pressed into 16 A service.
VDE Certified, Supplied Locally with GST Invoice
Schneider lists the AP9876 as VDE certified and EU RoHS compliant. SourceIT supplies it with a GST invoice and local Singapore warranty support, and will pair it with the right PDU, ATS or UPS on the same quotation so the rack powers up on delivery day.

Compatibility & Fit
Where it goes. IEC 60309 16 A plug into a 16 A commando socket - on the wall, on a busway tap, on a UPS output or on the AP4422A Rack ATS output - and C19 connector into the C20 inlet of the device being fed.
C20-inlet devices in the SourceIT catalogue it feeds. Rack PDUs: AP7552 zero-U basic PDU (20 C13, 4 C19, C20 inlet) and AP7921B switched 1U PDU (8 C13, C20 cord). Rack ATS: the AP4423A Rack ATS (C20 in, 8 C13 and 1 C19 out) has two C20 inlets and needs two such cords when its sources are commando sockets. Bypass: SBP3000RMI service bypass PDU (6 C13, 1 C19).
Sizing. 16 A at 230 V is 3,680 VA. That is the ceiling for the cord, the plug and the socket behind it; the PDU or ATS on the other end will have its own rating, and the lower of the two governs. If the load is over 16 A the answer is a 32 A PDU such as the AP8853 metered zero-U PDU (36 C13, 6 C19) on its own 32 A circuit, not a second cord.
Do not substitute a C13 cord. A C13/C14 cord is limited to 10 A and will not mate with a C20 inlet in any case. The AP9876 is the right part for a 16 A inlet; for a C19 outlet on a UPS or ATS rather than a commando socket, use the AP9877 C19 to C20 jumper instead.
Multi-region approval. Schneider describes the NetShelter cords as multi-region approved with regional input sockets. IEC 60309 is the international industrial connector standard and the 16 A 2P+E blue plug is what Singapore installers fit for single-phase 16 A circuits.
IEC Connector Guide
Rack power cords are named by the IEC 60320 coupler on each end. The socket side of a coupler is the odd number and the pin side is the even number, so a C14 plug goes into a C13 outlet and a C19 connector goes onto a C20 inlet.
| Connector | Found on | Mates with | Rating |
| C13 (socket) | Cord end that goes into equipment; PDU, UPS and ATS outlets | C14 | 10 A |
| C14 (pins) | Cord plug; inlet on servers, switches, 10 A PDUs and UPS units | C13 | 10 A |
| C19 (socket) | Cord end for high-power equipment; outlets on larger UPS, ATS and PDUs | C20 | 16 A (IEC) |
| C20 (pins) | Cord plug; inlet on 16 A PDUs, Rack ATS and high-power servers | C19 | 16 A (IEC) |
| IEC 60309 16 A 2P+E (blue commando) | Wall and busway sockets, UPS and bypass outlets, captive PDU and ATS input cords | IEC 60309 16 A socket | 16 A |
Not one of these is a BS 1363 (Type G) wall plug. In a Singapore rack the mains connection is normally made once, at the UPS or PDU input, and everything downstream is IEC to IEC.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC AP9876
Which end plugs into what?
The IEC 60309 16 A plug goes into the supply - a commando socket on the wall or busway, a UPS or bypass PDU with an IEC 60309 outlet, or the AP4422A Rack ATS output. The C19 connector goes into the C20 inlet on the PDU, ATS or device you are powering.
Which APC PDUs need this cord?
16 A models with a C20 inlet and no captive cord, such as the AP7552 zero-U basic PDU (20 C13, 4 C19, C20 inlet) and AP7921B switched 1U PDU (8 C13, C20 cord). Zero-U PDUs at 16 A are the most common case: they arrive with a bare inlet, and this is the cord that connects them to the room's 16 A circuit.
Can I use it to feed the AP4423A Rack ATS?
Yes. The AP4423A Rack ATS (C20 in, 8 C13 and 1 C19 out) has two C20 inlets. If both of its sources are commando sockets - for example a UPS with an IEC 60309 outlet and a separate wall circuit - you need two AP9876 cords, one per source.
How much current can it carry?
Schneider prints 16 A rated and maximum line current, the same as the IEC 60309 16 A plug and the C19/C20 coupler. On a 230 V Singapore supply that is up to 3,680 VA through the cord.
What is the difference between this and the AP9877?
The supply end. The AP9876 has an IEC 60309 commando plug for a wall, busway or UPS commando socket. The AP9877 has a C20 plug for a C19 outlet on a UPS, ATS or PDU. Same C19 connector on the equipment end, same 2.0 to 2.5 m class of length.
Is it long enough?
2.5 m covers the usual run from a wall or overhead commando socket to a PDU inlet inside the cabinet, or between adjacent racks. If your socket is further away, tell us the distance; a longer cord or a closer socket is the right fix, not an extension.
Will this plug into a Singapore wall socket?
No. The AP9876 has an IEC 60309 16 A commando plug and an IEC C19 connector. Singapore wall sockets are BS 1363 (Type G), and none of the connectors on this cord are BS 1363. The normal Singapore arrangement is an IEC-fed rack PDU or a UPS with IEC outlets, with cords like this one running from those outlets to the equipment. If you need a BS 1363 to IEC lead for a UPS or PDU input, ask us separately.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every APC AP9876 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC by Schneider Electric backs its NetShelter power cords with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
