The APC Easy Rack PDU Metered EPDU1132M is the 32 A member of Schneider's value rack-power line: twenty IEC C13 and four IEC C19 outlets on a 1,175 mm vertical strip, rated 32 A and 7.4 kW at 230 V, with a 3 m cord ending in an IEC 60309 32 A 2P+E commando plug. It gives a full rack of servers a metered, network-managed feed without the cost of the NetShelter 2G or 9000 series.
Schneider describes the Easy Rack PDU as "reliable and affordable rack power distribution" with real-time remote management, and for a Singapore server room that needs to see its load but does not need per-outlet switching, that is the right level.
Local LCD and Load LED, Remote Web, SNMP and Modbus
The LCD on the strip shows the current draw and a load-indicator LED gives at-a-glance status. Management is built in: a web interface over HTTP or HTTPS, SNMP v1, v2c and v3 with traps, and Modbus TCP, reporting current, power and voltage. There is a port for a temperature and humidity sensor and the firmware is flash-upgradeable. Toolless vertical mounting brackets are supplied.
Twenty-Four Outlets, With Four C19 for the Heavy Loads
Four C19 outlets is one more than the 16 A model and enough for a blade chassis, a storage controller and a pair of core switches, with twenty C13 outlets for everything else. The 7.4 kW budget is the real constraint, not the outlet count - add up nameplate currents and keep the total under 32 A.
A 1,175 mm Strip at 3.7 kg
At 1,175 mm long, 62 mm wide and 44 mm deep and 3.72 kg, the EPDU1132M is a three-quarter-height unit. It suits a 42U enclosure with a rear vertical channel and will also fit a 36U cabinet. The rack needs a 32 A IEC 60309 socket on a dedicated circuit, which is a fixed electrical installation.

Compatibility & Rack Fit
What you can plug into it. Twenty IEC C13 outlets for C14-corded servers, switches and appliances, and four IEC C19 outlets for C20-corded blade chassis, storage shelves and core switches. Twenty-four outlets will cable most full-height racks from one strip.
Load planning. 32 A total, 7,360 VA at 230 V. The LCD and the web interface both show the aggregate load and the alarm threshold warns you as you approach the limit, so balancing A and B feeds is a matter of reading the display. Twenty-four outlets on 7.4 kW is modest per-outlet draw; the sockets are for reach, not so every one can pull its maximum.
Feeding it. The attached 3 m cord ends in an IEC 60309 32 A 2P+E commando plug, so the rack needs a 32 A socket on a dedicated circuit - a fixed electrical installation, so budget for an electrician if one is not in place. If the rack only has 16 A supplies, the EPDU1116M is the same platform at 16 A.
Rack fit. A 0U strip 1,175 mm long, 62 mm wide and 44 mm deep, weighing 3.72 kg. It suits a 36U or 42U enclosure with a rear vertical channel and mounts toolless with the supplied brackets. Check the channel clearance for the 62 mm width in a narrow cabinet. For a short cabinet the 2U AP7822B is the 32 A horizontal alternative.
Management and sensors. Web, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and Modbus TCP are built in, with a port for a temperature and humidity sensor. Ask us to confirm the matching sensor for the Easy Rack PDU line when you order. The AP9640 and AP9641 cards we sell are Smart-UPS accessories and are not used with this PDU.
What it does not do. No outlet switching - to power-cycle a device remotely at 32 A you want the NetShelter APDU9953 or the per-outlet AP8653. No per-outlet metering. And no surge protection, which belongs at a UPS upstream.

Locking Output Cords (Sold Separately)
These are the cords that run from this unit's C13 outlets to your equipment's C14 inlets. The locking design stops a cord being nudged out of its outlet while you work in the rack - a common and entirely avoidable cause of an unplanned reboot. Note that this is an output cord kit, not this unit's supply cord - if you also need an input cord, tell us and we will quote the right type for this model.

What is the difference between an Easy Rack PDU and a NetShelter Rack PDU?
The Easy Rack PDU line is Schneider's value range: metered distribution with web, SNMP and Modbus TCP management, a one-year warranty, and none of the NetShelter extras such as SSH, the Secure NMC subscription or EcoStruxure IT integration. For a server room that needs to see its load, it is enough; for colocation or a managed environment, the NetShelter AP8853 is the 32 A metered equivalent.
Is it metered per outlet?
No. The EPDU1132M meters current, power and voltage for the whole strip, on the LCD and over the network. Per-outlet metering is a NetShelter 2G feature, on the AP8653.
What supply does it need?
A 32 A IEC 60309 2P+E commando socket on a dedicated circuit. The 3 m cord is attached, so nothing to buy, but the socket is a fixed electrical installation. If you only have 16 A sockets, the EPDU1116M is the same platform at 16 A.
Can I add a temperature and humidity sensor?
Yes, the strip has a temperature/humidity sensor port. Ask us to confirm the matching sensor part number for the Easy Rack PDU line when you order.
Does it have surge protection?
No. Schneider states that APC Rack PDUs are power distribution devices without built-in surge suppression. Put a UPS upstream if the load needs protection.
Can it switch outlets off remotely?
No - Metered means measurement, not control. For per-outlet switching at 32 A, the NetShelter APDU9953 or the per-outlet metered AP8653 are the options.
How long is it and will it fit my rack?
1,175 mm - about three-quarters of a 42U enclosure's height - 62 mm wide and 44 mm deep, at 3.72 kg. It needs a rear vertical channel with clearance for the 62 mm width. In a short cabinet the 2U AP7822B gives 32 A horizontally.
