Before You Buy 50 Office Laptops, Read This.

Before you buy 50 office laptops, fix ten things on paper: one model and one build, Windows 11 Pro, a deployment method such as Windows Autopilot with Microsoft Intune, TPM 2.0 and the right management silicon, a lifecycle, a warranty SLA, the desk setup, delivery and asset tagging, and how you will pay. Get those right and the fleet is cheaper to run for years; get them wrong and every laptop becomes a one-off support case. This checklist works through each decision with examples from the store, including the ASUS ExpertBook B1 (B1403CVA), ASUS ExpertBook P3 (P3406CCA), ASUS ExpertBook PM3 (PM3406CHA), the Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C with USB-A Dock and the ViewSonic VP2456 monitor.

Why buy one model and one build for everyone?

Because support cost grows with the number of different machines you own, not just the number of machines. One model means one driver set, one BIOS update schedule, one spare charger type and one dock standard. If you need tiers, keep it to two: a mainstream laptop for most staff, such as the ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1403CVA-NJ1209X (Core 7 150U, 16 GB, 512 GB SSD, S$1,499), and a step-up for heavier users, such as the ASUS ExpertBook P3 P3406CCA-LY0040X (Core Ultra 7 255H, 16 GB, 512 GB SSD, S$2,099). Right-sizing matters at 50 units; 7 IT Products Companies Keep Overpaying For shows where specs commonly exceed need. Which Windows edition should a company fleet run?

Windows 11 Pro at minimum. Microsoft describes Windows 11 Pro as "designed for small and medium businesses", able to "manage your devices and apps, protect your business data" and use cloud technologies. Two points matter for a 50-unit order. First, Windows Autopilot lists Windows 11 Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations, Enterprise and Education as supported editions; Home is not on that list. Second, Windows 10 reached end of support on 14 October 2025, and Microsoft "no longer provides software updates, security fixes, or technical assistance" for it, so any refresh should be Windows 11 from day one. Every ExpertBook in this post ships with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled, according to its listing.

Should you build an image or use Autopilot and Intune?

For most organisations already on Microsoft 365, Autopilot is the simpler path. Microsoft describes Windows Autopilot as "a collection of technologies used to set up and pre-configure new devices, getting them ready for productive use", using the OEM-optimised Windows already on the device "so custom images and drivers for every device model don't have to be maintained." Microsoft Intune is the mobile device management (MDM) service that then applies your apps and policies. A model-consistent fleet makes either approach easier, and if you still use Group Policy, Microsoft notes it works for Windows 11 as it did for Windows 10. Decide this before ordering, because Autopilot needs devices registered to your tenant; discuss how that will be done for your order when requesting a quote.

What security hardware belongs in the specification?

TPM 2.0 is a Windows 11 minimum requirement, alongside UEFI Secure Boot capability, and it underpins BitLocker. The ExpertBook B1 and ExpertBook PM3 PM3406CHA-LY0120X (Ryzen 7 8840HS, 16 GB, 1 TB SSD, S$1,740) listings state TPM 2.0; the P3 uses firmware TPM. Add Windows Hello hardware (fingerprint or IR camera) and a camera privacy shutter, which all three include.

Intel vPro or AMD PRO is the next question. Intel says vPro's out-of-band access lets IT "reach, diagnose, and recover PCs regardless of their OS states", with "hardware-based security technologies". AMD describes AMD PRO as "multi-layered security" with "18+ months of assured platform stability and availability". If your IT team manages devices remotely below the operating system, specify these. Be aware that Intel's specification pages for the Core 7 150U and Core Ultra 7 255H do not list vPro eligibility, and the PM3's Ryzen 7 8840HS is not sold as a Ryzen PRO part, so ask us to quote vPro or Ryzen PRO configurations if you need them.

How long should the fleet last, and what warranty SLA do you need?

Set the lifecycle first, then buy warranty to match it. A three-year refresh pairs naturally with three-year cover: the ExpertBook B1, P3 and PM3 listings all state 3 years onsite warranty, next business day, with the battery covered for the same term. Onsite matters at fleet scale because an engineer attends your premises instead of staff carrying units to a service centre. If you plan to keep laptops longer than the warranty, budget for extension or replacement now. Cheap IT Equipment Can Be Expensive covers carry-in versus onsite in detail, and our posts on ASUS commercial warranty in Singapore and how to claim HP warranty in Singapore explain local claims.

Docks, monitors and the desk

Standardise the desk alongside the laptop. One dock model on every desk lets anyone hot-desk. The Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C with USB-A Dock (S$300, in stock) connects over USB-C or, with the supplied adapter, USB-A, which helps while older laptops are still in service. A USB-C monitor that powers the laptop removes the dock entirely for single-screen desks: the ViewSonic VP2456 24" with 60W USB-C (S$370.80) is one example. Brand dock ranges are in the Lenovo docking stations collection.

Delivery, asset tagging and roll-out

Fifty boxes arriving at reception is not a roll-out. Before the purchase order, agree on staggered or single delivery, who records serial numbers and applies asset tags, whether units are delivered boxed or unboxed and charged, and how packaging is removed. Ask for the serial list in a spreadsheet so it goes straight into your asset register and warranty records. Tell us your requirement when requesting a quote and we will confirm what is included.

Volume pricing, GeBIZ and financing

Do not buy 50 units at the single-unit web price. Send the quantity and part number through our volume discounts and special pricing page. Code EXPERTBOOK10 gives 10% off the ExpertBook B1 or P3 14" until 30 November 2026, but it is one use per customer, so it suits the pilot unit you test first rather than the fleet; the ExpertBook B1 vs P3 deal post has the terms. Government buyers can see the government sales page and our guide to navigating GeBIZ; companies spreading cost can look at financing options. If you are buying single units for a small team instead, Don't Buy a New Laptop Until You Check These 5 Things is the shorter version.

Frequently asked questions

Does a company laptop fleet need Windows 11 Pro? Yes for most businesses. Windows Autopilot supports Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise and Education editions but not Home, and Microsoft positions Pro for managing devices and protecting business data.

What is Windows Autopilot? Microsoft describes it as a collection of technologies to set up and pre-configure new devices using the Windows already installed, so custom images and drivers for every model do not have to be maintained.

Do office laptops need TPM 2.0? Yes. TPM 2.0 is a Windows 11 minimum requirement and supports BitLocker drive encryption.

Do I need Intel vPro or AMD PRO? Only if your IT team uses out-of-band remote management or wants AMD's platform stability commitments. Specify it explicitly, because many business laptops, including the ExpertBooks listed here, use standard processors.

What warranty should a laptop fleet have? Match the warranty to the lifecycle. The ExpertBook B1, P3 and PM3 listings state 3 years onsite, next business day; confirm the term for your SKU when requesting a quote.

Can I use EXPERTBOOK10 on 50 laptops? No. It is one use per customer and applies to the ExpertBook B1 and P3 14" until 30 November 2026. For fleet quantities, request a volume quote.
