The E2 upgrades the wireless side: Wi-Fi 6 (vs 802.11ac) with a dual-Wi-Fi-chip architecture, WPA3 encryption, and 3 USB-A ports (vs 2). Both output 4K60 over HDMI and support 4-way split-screen casting. The original RoomCast has reached end-of-sale, so the E2 is the model to standardise on.
