Poly Edge E450 Desktop Business IP Phone — 2200-87030-025 / 82M90AA - Local Warranty
Poly Edge E450 Dual-Display Open SIP Desk Phone with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0
The Poly Edge E450 is the fully-connected member of HP's Edge E400 Series: two colour displays, 14 line keys arranged 8 + 6 supporting up to 44 line key assignments, integrated Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. It is the model to specify for a Singapore reception or operator position that needs busy-lamp visibility across a floor and either a wireless headset, a wireless network connection, or both.
An RGB Lightbar and a Second Screen for Busy Lamp Field
The main 3.5-inch colour IPS LCD runs the call while the secondary 2.4-inch portrait display carries contacts and busy lamp field keys, so the operator sees who is free without paging through menus. HP documents a lightbar status indicator using RGB with colour mixing — visible across a reception counter in a way a small icon is not.
One Expansion Module for Up to 66 More Contacts
HP's Edge E Series user guide documents one Poly Edge E Expansion Module (2200-87020-025) per Edge E400 Series phone, adding 22 line keys across three pages for up to 66 additional contacts. The module connects over the phone's USB Type-C port, which HP specifies as carrying media, storage, headset and expansion module connectivity. A wall mount bracket for the expansion module is available separately.
Class 4 PoE, Wired or Wireless — and the Power Supply Caveat
Wired, the E450 runs on built-in auto-sensing IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet at Class 4, 13 W maximum, over a two-port gigabit Ethernet switch with PC passthrough. Deployed on Wi-Fi, there is no Ethernet cable to carry power, so an optional Poly power supply is required and is ordered separately — the item most often missed on wireless desk-phone orders. Frequency response is specified at 150 Hz to 14 kHz across handset, headset and handsfree.

Compatibility & Software Support
Platforms and certifications
The Poly Edge E450 is an Open SIP desk phone. It registers against hosted and on-premise SIP platforms — 3CX, Asterisk and FreePBX derivatives, BroadWorks and Metaswitch-based hosted services, and the SIP trunking services offered by Singapore carriers.
HP publishes no Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet certification for any model in the Edge E range, and we do not claim one. Where a Microsoft Teams certified desk phone is the requirement, the Poly CCX Teams Edition models are the correct line — see the CCX 350 for Microsoft Teams.
Wireless and device connectivity
Integrated Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, and NFC.
Headsets
1 x RJ-9 headset port; 1 x Electronic Hook Switch (EHS) port; Bluetooth and USB headsets also supported
Provisioning and security
The Edge E series supports HTTPS provisioning with encrypted configuration files and signed software, 802.1X network authentication, SRTP media encryption and TLS signalling — the controls a Singapore IT team needs to put a phone estate on a corporate VLAN without exceptions.
Management software
HP states “Simple set up and support with Poly Lens” for the Edge E series. Poly Lens is HP's cloud device-management service: from one console your IT team can see device health, push firmware, apply configuration profiles and pull usage insight across every Poly device in the estate, phones and meeting rooms alike.

Frequently Asked Questions — Poly Edge E450
What is the difference between the Poly Edge E450 and the Edge E400?
Wireless. Both share the same 3.5-inch main and 2.4-inch secondary displays, 14 line keys and 44 line key assignments, Class 4 PoE, single USB Type-C port, RJ-9 and EHS headset ports, and support for one expansion module. The E450 adds integrated Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands; the Edge E400 has NFC only.
Which Wi-Fi standards does the E450 support?
HP's published band table lists 2.4–2.4835 GHz (802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n HT-20) and 5.15–5.825 GHz (802.11a, 802.11n HT-20 and HT-40). HP's marketing copy for this model elsewhere refers to 802.11ac, which HP's own specification table does not list — we state the band table, because that is the published specification. If 802.11ac or Wi-Fi 6 support is a hard requirement, confirm it with us before ordering.
If I deploy the E450 over Wi-Fi, how do I power it?
With an optional Poly power supply, ordered separately — PoE cannot supply a phone that is not on Ethernet. HP specifies IEEE 802.3af Class 4 PoE at 13 W maximum for wired operation. Tell us the deployment mode at quotation stage and we will include the correct regional power supply.
How many contacts can the E450 display, with and without an expansion module?
Up to 44 line key assignments across the two built-in displays. Adding the one supported Poly Edge E Expansion Module (2200-87020-025) brings a further 22 keys across three pages, for up to 66 additional contacts. For a position that needs two modules, step up to the Edge E550.
How does the E450 compare with the Edge E550?
The Edge E550 replaces the dual-display arrangement with a single 5-inch colour display, raises the key count to 12 keys and up to 48 line key assignments, adds a second USB Type-C port and supports two expansion modules instead of one. Both carry Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi. Choose the E450 if the portrait busy-lamp screen suits the operator's workflow; choose the E550 for maximum key capacity.
Is a wall mount or power supply in the box?
Neither. HP lists the setup sheet, console, handset and handset cord (all with Microban antimicrobial protection), CAT-5E network cable and desk stand. A wall mount bracket covering the E400, E450, E500 and E550 is ordered separately.
Is the Edge E450 certified for Microsoft Teams or Zoom?
HP publishes no Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet certification for any Edge E model, and we do not claim one. The Edge E range is Open SIP. For a Teams-certified desk phone, see the Poly CCX Teams Edition models such as the CCX 350 for Microsoft Teams.
Does the Poly Edge E450 come with a Singapore warranty and GST invoice?
Yes. Every Poly Edge E450 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.
