Poly Edge E550 Desktop Business IP Phone
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Poly Edge E550 Desktop Business IP Phone — 2200-87050-025 / 82M91AA - Local Warranty
Poly Edge E550 Flagship Open SIP Desk Phone with 5-Inch Display, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
The Poly Edge E550 is the top of HP's Edge E range: a big 5-inch colour display, 12 line keys supporting up to 48 lines, integrated Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and support for two expansion modules carrying up to 66 additional contacts each. It is the phone to specify when a Singapore reception, switchboard or executive assistant position needs maximum key capacity and full wireless capability in one device.
Up to 48 Lines on the Phone, Plus Two Expansion Modules
HP specifies 12 line keys designed to handle up to 48 lines, and support for two additional expansion modules each carrying up to 66 more contacts. That is the largest addressable key capacity in the Edge E range. Each Poly Edge E Expansion Module (2200-87020-025) is ordered separately, and a wall mount bracket for the expansion module is available where the position is wall-mounted.
Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi — the Only Edge E500 Series Model with Both
Within the Edge E500 Series, the wireless radios are exclusive to the E550: the Edge E500 has neither Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth. HP states 802.11ac Wi-Fi is included on the E550, alongside integrated Bluetooth 5.0 for headset and mobile pairing. For a leased suite or a retrofitted floor with no structured cabling at the reception counter, this is the model that removes the cabling works from the project.
Poly Acoustic Fence, NoiseBlockAI and HD Voice at the Front Desk
The E550 carries Poly HD Voice, Poly Acoustic Clarity full-duplex speakerphone operation with acoustic echo cancellation, Poly Acoustic Fence and Poly NoiseBlockAI. A reception counter is the noisiest position in most offices — Acoustic Fence keeping the lobby out of the call is the feature that earns its place there.

Compatibility & Software Support
Platforms and certifications
The Poly Edge E550 is an Open SIP desk phone. It registers against hosted and on-premise SIP platforms — 3CX, Asterisk and FreePBX derivatives, BroadWorks and Metaswitch-based hosted services, and the SIP trunking services offered by Singapore carriers.
HP publishes no Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet certification for any model in the Edge E range, and we do not claim one. Where a Microsoft Teams certified desk phone is the requirement, the Poly CCX Teams Edition models are the correct line — see the CCX 350 for Microsoft Teams.
Wireless and device connectivity
Integrated Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi (HP states 802.11ac).
Headsets
Dedicated RJ-9 headset port; Electronic Hook Switch capable; Bluetooth and USB headsets also supported
Provisioning and security
The Edge E series supports HTTPS provisioning with encrypted configuration files and signed software, 802.1X network authentication, SRTP media encryption and TLS signalling — the controls a Singapore IT team needs to put a phone estate on a corporate VLAN without exceptions.
Management software
HP states “Simple set up and support with Poly Lens” for the Edge E series. Poly Lens is HP's cloud device-management service: from one console your IT team can see device health, push firmware, apply configuration profiles and pull usage insight across every Poly device in the estate, phones and meeting rooms alike.

Frequently Asked Questions — Poly Edge E550
What is the difference between the Poly Edge E550 and the Edge E500?
The two radios. Both share the 5-inch display, 12 line keys, up to 48 line key assignments, two-expansion-module support, gigabit Ethernet and PoE. The E550 adds integrated Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi; the Edge E500 has neither. If the desk is cabled and the headset is corded or USB, the E500 does the same job for less.
How many contacts can the E550 handle in total?
12 line keys supporting up to 48 lines on the phone itself, plus up to two Poly Edge E Expansion Modules (2200-87020-025), each supporting up to 66 additional contacts. That is the largest key capacity available anywhere in the Edge E range.
Which Wi-Fi standard does the E550 use?
HP states that 802.11ac Wi-Fi is included on the Edge E550. Note that for the sibling Edge E450 HP's published band table lists 802.11a/b/g/n while its marketing copy refers to 802.11ac, so if a specific Wi-Fi standard is a hard requirement in your tender, ask us to confirm it against the current HP specification before you order.
If the E550 runs on Wi-Fi, how is it powered?
By an optional Poly power supply, ordered separately — Power over Ethernet cannot supply a phone with no Ethernet cable attached. Tell us at quotation stage whether the position is wired or wireless and we will include the correct power supply.
How does the E550 compare with the Edge E450?
The Edge E450 uses a dual-display arrangement, a 3.5-inch main screen plus a 2.4-inch portrait busy-lamp screen, with 14 keys and up to 44 key assignments and support for one expansion module. The E550 uses a single 5-inch screen with 12 keys, up to 48 assignments and two modules. Both carry Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi. The E450 suits an operator who prefers a dedicated busy-lamp screen; the E550 suits one who wants the largest total key capacity.
Is a wall mount or power supply included?
No. HP's box list for the E550 covers the setup sheet, console, CAT-5E network cable, desk stand, handset cord and handset. A wall mount bracket covering the E400, E450, E500 and E550 and an optional power supply are ordered separately.
Is the Edge E550 certified for Microsoft Teams or Zoom?
HP publishes no Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet certification for any Edge E model, and we do not claim one. The Edge E range is an Open SIP line, for hosted and on-premise SIP platforms. For a Teams-certified desk phone, see the Poly CCX Teams Edition models such as the CCX 350 for Microsoft Teams.
Does the Poly Edge E550 come with a Singapore warranty and GST invoice?
Yes. Every Poly Edge E550 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.
