Platform and certification

This is the native Microsoft Teams edition. HP certifies the CCX range for Microsoft Teams, and the phone runs a dedicated Teams interface rather than a SIP softkey UI — sign-in, calls, contacts, voicemail and calendar all come from the Teams service. It is provisioned and licensed like any other Teams phone, through Microsoft Teams admin centre and a Teams Phone licence on the user account.

Zoom and platform editions

HP's CCX 500/505 product page states the range is certified for Microsoft Teams and certified for Zoom; the certification that applies to a given unit is the edition it ships as. This listing is the Microsoft Teams edition. If you need a Zoom Phone or Open SIP build, ask us and we will quote the correct SKU.

Headsets and peripherals

Integrated Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless headsets, one USB 2.0 Type-A and one USB 2.0 Type-C port, a dedicated RJ-9 headset port and EHS support. Integrated Wi-Fi is not part of the CCX 500 — that is the CCX 505.

Operating system and software

HP lists this model as running Android 9. Firmware and configuration updates are delivered through your provisioning server or through Poly Lens.

Poly Lens device management

The Poly CCX 350, 400, 500, 505, 600 and 700 are all listed as supported devices in Poly Lens, HP's cloud device-management service. Lens gives IT a single place to see deployed phones, push firmware and configuration, and monitor device health across the fleet — useful for Singapore offices standardising on one desk phone across several sites.

What is the difference between the CCX 500 and the CCX 505?

The CCX 505 adds integrated Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands) to the same 5-inch touchscreen platform. HP's own comparison calls out Wi-Fi as the CCX 505 differentiator; everything else — display, Bluetooth 4.2, dual USB, 802.3af PoE — is common to both.

Can I use a wireless headset with the CCX 500?

Yes. The CCX 500 has integrated Bluetooth 4.2, plus USB and RJ-9/EHS options for wired and DECT headsets.

How does it compare with the CCX 400?

The CCX 400 has the same 5-inch 720 x 1280 touchscreen but no integrated Bluetooth and only a USB Type-A port. The CCX 500 adds Bluetooth 4.2 and a second USB port (Type-C).

Do I need a PC or a licence to use it with Teams?

No PC. The phone signs in to Microsoft Teams natively, but the user account needs a Teams Phone licence and calling plan (or Direct Routing / Operator Connect) from Microsoft in the usual way.

What power does it need?

Built-in auto-sensing IEEE 802.3af PoE (Class 0), 13 W maximum. An optional external supply rated 48 V DC @ 0.52 A is available where PoE is not present.
