The NETGEAR GS516 (hardware version GS516v3) is a 16-port Gigabit Ethernet unmanaged switch. Every port is 10/100/1000 Mbps with Auto Uplink, so it works straight out of the box with no configuration — connect PCs, printers, NAS, IP phones and access points and it just runs.
Non-Blocking Gigabit Performance
NETGEAR rates the GS516 at 32 Gbps of switching bandwidth and a forwarding rate of 1,488,000 frames/sec per Gigabit port, with an 8K MAC address table, a 512.5 KB packet buffer, jumbo frames up to 9 KB and IEEE 802.1p QoS for prioritising voice and video.
Silent, Energy-Efficient and Rack-Ready
NETGEAR lists the GS516 as fanless and silent, with IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, auto power-down and cable-length detection keeping power draw to 10 W max. The compact metal switch sits on a desk, mounts on a wall or goes in a standard 19-inch rack using the wall/rack-mount kit included in the box, and has a Kensington lock slot.
