The Logitech C505e is the model organisations buy when they need to put a working camera on every desk without a per-seat budget argument. It delivers 720p HD video at 30 fps over a plug-and-play USB-A connection, weighs only 75 g, and ships with an unusually long 2 m attached cable — the longest in the Logitech C-Series — which matters when the camera clips to a monitor and the PC sits under the desk or in a cabinet.
Fixed-Focus 60° Field of View Keeps the Frame on You
The C505e uses a fixed-focus lens with a 60° diagonal field of view. That is deliberately narrower than the rest of the C-Series: it frames a single person at a desk and crops out the surrounding office, which is usually what you want in an open-plan Singapore workplace where the background is other people's desks. RightLight 2 automatically compensates for dim or uneven lighting.
Long-Range Noise-Reducing Microphone
A single omni-directional, noise-reducing microphone picks up clearly at up to 3 m, so the C505e also works as the audio input for a small shared workstation or a training PC where the user is not sitting directly in front of the screen. For call-heavy roles, pair it with a dedicated headset.
Works With Teams, Zoom, Meet and Webex Out of the Box
No drivers, no software install. The C505e is compatible with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and Voice, Skype for Business and Cisco Jabber, and with any other UVC application on Windows, macOS or ChromeOS. Note that Logitech lists these as compatibility rather than formal platform certification — if a certified device is a hard procurement requirement, the C920e is the correct model to quote.

Logitech lists the C505e as compatible with Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, Google Meet and Google Voice, Zoom and Cisco Jabber. Logitech does not publish a Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet certification for this model, so we do not claim one. It operates as a standard UVC camera and will be recognised by any UVC-compliant application without drivers.
Logitech software
The C505e is not supported by Logi Tune and is not manageable in Logitech Sync. There are no software-adjustable image settings, field-of-view options or remote firmware updates on this model. If central fleet management through Logitech Sync is a requirement, choose the C920e, C925e or C930e instead.

Is the C505e Full HD?
No. The C505e captures HD 720p at 30 fps — it is Logitech's entry-level business webcam. If you need Full HD 1080p, the C920e is the closest step up and adds autofocus, a privacy shutter and Logitech Sync manageability.
Does the C505e have a privacy shutter?
No. Logitech does not include a privacy shutter with the C505e, and the datasheet's package contents list does not include one. If a shutter is a requirement, the C925e has an integrated sliding cover and the C930e ships an attachable one.
Why is the field of view only 60°?
It is a deliberate design choice for personal use. A 60° diagonal field of view frames one person at a desk and keeps the surrounding office out of shot. The wider 78° models (C920e, C925e) and the 90° C930e are the ones to choose if two or three people need to share the camera.
Can I manage the C505e with Logitech Sync or adjust it in Logi Tune?
No. The C505e is not on Logitech's supported-device list for either Logi Tune or Logitech Sync. It is a fixed-configuration camera. For deployments where IT needs central monitoring and firmware push, quote the C920e, C925e or C930e.
Do I need a separate PC, licence or dock?
No. The C505e is a USB peripheral for an existing Windows, macOS or ChromeOS computer. There is no licence, no compute appliance and no dock required — plug it into a USB-A port and it works.
Is the cable detachable, and how long is it?
The cable is permanently attached and is 2 m long, the longest of any Logitech C-Series webcam. That is usually enough to reach a desktop PC placed on the floor or in a cabinet without an extension.
