APC Rack PDU, Basic, 1U, 16A,208&230V
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC NetShelter Basic Rack PDU, 1U, 16A, 208 & 230V, (10) C13 & (2) C19 (AP9559) - 2 Years Local Warranty
Twelve Outlets Including Two C19, in a Single Rack U
The APC NetShelter Basic Rack PDU AP9559 packs ten IEC C13 outlets and two IEC C19 outlets into a 1U horizontal chassis. The pair of C19 outlets is what sets it apart from most 1U strips: it can feed two 16 A C20-corded devices - a blade chassis, a storage shelf, a large switch - alongside ten ordinary C14-corded machines.
Multi-Voltage 120 V, 208 V and 230 V Operation
Rated 16 A on 230 V and 240 V supplies and listed for 120 V and 208 V operation as well - Schneider derates it to 12.8 A at 208 V in UL markets - the AP9559 runs directly on Singapore's 230 V mains at the full 3,680 VA. It is fed through an IEC C20 inlet and ships with a 2.5 m cord.
Light, Shallow and Easy to Retrofit
At 44 x 447 x 57 mm and under a kilogram, the AP9559 is one of the easiest PDUs to add to an existing rack - there is no vertical channel to find, no heavy strip to lift into place, and the mounting brackets are in the box. In a wall-mount comms cabinet, where a 1.6 m 0U strip will not fit at all, a 1U model is often the only option.
No Meter, No Network Port - Distribution Only
This is a Basic PDU: outlets are live whenever the unit is powered, and there is no metering, display or network management. That keeps it inexpensive and keeps the failure modes simple, which is the right trade when your measurement already happens at the UPS. If you want per-rack visibility instead, the metered AP8858 and switched AP7921B are the managed alternatives.

Compatibility & Load Planning
What you can plug into it. Ten IEC C13 outlets take standard C14 equipment cords - servers, switches, routers, firewalls, appliances. Two IEC C19 outlets take 16 A C20 cords, which is what blade chassis, storage shelves and some larger core switches use. Two C19 outlets in a 1U strip is unusual and is the main reason to choose this model over the C13-only AP9565.
Load planning. 16 A, 3,680 VA. On a 230 V Singapore supply that is the full 16 A; note that Schneider derates the unit to 12.8 A on a 208 V UL-market supply, which matters only if you are deploying into a US-standard facility. There is no meter on this model, so measure at the UPS or upstream PDU if you need to track how close you are running.
Rack fit. 1U high, 447 mm wide, 57 mm deep and under a kilogram - it fits any 19-inch rack and, being so shallow and light, retrofits easily into a populated cabinet. Rack mounting brackets are supplied. Unlike the 0U models in this range, there is no toolless mounting kit - this one bolts in conventionally.
Feeding it. The unit has an IEC C20 inlet and ships with a 2.5 m input cord, so there is no supply cord to buy. What you do need upstream is a 16 A circuit or a 16 A outlet on a UPS or row PDU - particularly if you intend to use both C19 outlets.
Management and monitoring. None. No meter, no display, no network port, and no surge protection - Schneider specifies none of these for the AP9559. For remote visibility or remote reboot, look at the metered and switched models in this range.

Locking Output Cords (Sold Separately)
These are the cords that run from this unit's C13 outlets to your equipment's C14 inlets. The locking design stops a cord being nudged out of its outlet while you work in the rack - a common and entirely avoidable cause of an unplanned reboot. Note that this is an output cord kit, not this unit's supply cord - if you also need an input cord, tell us and we will quote the right type for this model.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC AP9559
What is the difference between the AP9559 and the AP9565?
Outlets. The AP9559 has ten C13 plus two C19; the AP9565 has twelve C13 and no C19 at all. Both are 1U, 16 A, C20-fed Basic PDUs on the same 44 x 447 x 57 mm chassis. If anything in your rack needs a 16 A C20 cord, you need the AP9559.
Does it have surge protection?
No. There is no surge specification, joule rating or clamping figure in any Schneider document for the AP9559. Surge and sag protection is a UPS function, not a Basic PDU function.
Can I monitor power consumption on it?
Not on the PDU. This is a Basic model with no meter, no display and no network port. Measure at the UPS or upstream PDU, or move to a metered model - the AP8858 gives unit-level metering with a built-in network port.
What does the C19 outlet actually take?
A C20 cord rated to 16 A. Blade chassis, larger disk shelves, some core switches and a number of higher-draw servers ship with C20 inlets. A C19 outlet will not accept a C14 cord, and you should not adapt a 16 A device down onto a 10 A C13 outlet.
Will it work on Singapore mains?
Yes - it is rated for 230 V nominal at 50/60 Hz and carries VDE approval, so it is a direct fit for Singapore's 230 V, 50 Hz supply at the full 16 A. The 208 V and 120 V ratings exist for other markets and do not restrict you here.
How much rack space and weight does it add?
One rack unit, 57 mm deep, 0.98 kg. It is one of the lightest and shallowest PDUs APC makes, which is why it retrofits so easily into a cabinet that is already full at the back.
Does it come with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice?
Yes. Every APC NetShelter Basic Rack PDU AP9559 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the AP9559 with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
