APC Dry Contact I/O Accessory, 2 Inputs and Relay Output for NMC Ports
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Dry Contact I/O Accessory, 2 Inputs & 1 Relay Output for Universal I/O Port (AP9810) - 2 Years Local Warranty
Two Dry Contact Inputs and a Relay Output From a Sensor Port
The APC Dry Contact I/O Accessory (AP9810) is a small interface module that plugs into a universal I/O port on an APC Network Management Card or Dry Contact I/O Card and gives it hard-wired signalling: two dry contact inputs (Zone A and Zone B), one Form C relay output, and a 12 V, 25 mA supply for powering a small external sensor. It turns a management card that only spoke SNMP and e-mail into one that can also read a door switch or a leak detector and close a contact for an alarm panel.
Where It Fits
Schneider designed the AP9810 for the universal I/O ports found on the AP9641 Network Management Card 3 with environmental monitoring, the earlier AP9631 and AP9635 Network Management Card 2 models, and the AP9613 Dry Contact I/O SmartSlot Card. On the AP9613 it lifts the card's contact count from four inputs and six outputs to eight of each. Because the accessory sits on a network-connected card, its inputs and relay are monitored and controlled from that card's web interface, and state changes on the inputs can be mapped to configurable actions such as an e-mail, an SNMP trap or a UPS shutdown.
Practical Uses in a Singapore Server Room
Plenty of comms rooms already have volt-free signals that nobody is watching: a fire-suppression pre-alarm, a water leak rope under the raised floor, a cabinet door contact, a generator-running signal. Wire two of them to the AP9810's inputs and the UPS management card reports them. The relay output goes the other way - a UPS-on-battery or low-runtime condition can drive a beacon, a BMS digital input or an annunciator panel that has never heard of SNMP.
Supplied Locally in Singapore with GST Invoice
The AP9810 is available to order through SourceIT with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice. It ships with the network cable it needs, and installation is a plug-in job on the host card's universal I/O port with screw terminals for your contacts.

Compatibility & Fit
Which cards take the AP9810. Any APC host with a universal I/O port. In the current range that is the AP9641 Network Management Card 3 with environmental monitoring (two ports) and the AP9613 Dry Contact I/O SmartSlot Card (two ports); Schneider also lists the AP9631 and AP9635 Network Management Card 2 models. Schneider's technical guide for the accessory covers connection to an NMC3 host.
Not for the AP9640 or AP9544. The AP9640 and the Easy UPS card AP9544 have no universal I/O port, so the AP9810 has nowhere to plug in. If you need contacts on a Smart-UPS with a single SmartSlot, the AP9641 plus an AP9810 gives you network management and two inputs and a relay from one slot.
Rack ATS and Rack PDU sensor ports. The fifth-generation NetShelter Rack ATS units and sensor-port Rack PDUs are published as accepting the AP9335T and AP9335TH temperature sensors. Schneider does not list the AP9810 against those ports, so do not assume it works there - ask us to confirm for the specific unit.
Port budget. Each AP9810 occupies one universal I/O port. On an AP9641 or AP9613 with two ports, that leaves one port for an AP9335TH temperature and humidity sensor or an AP9335T temperature sensor. On an AP9613 you can fit two AP9810 units for eight inputs and eight relays in total.
What the relay can drive. The Form C relay is a signalling contact: 1 A at 30 V DC normal switching, 2 A DC maximum, 60 V DC maximum, 30 W. Use it for alarm panel inputs, BMS digital inputs, a beacon or a PLC input. It is not a power switch and it is not rated for mains.
What the inputs read. Two volt-free contacts - normally open or normally closed, set in the host card's interface - plus a 12 V, 25 mA output for a sensor that needs a little power. Door contacts, leak rope controllers, fire panel auxiliary contacts and generator status relays are the usual candidates.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC AP9810
How many inputs and outputs does the AP9810 have?
Two dry contact inputs, labelled Zone A and Zone B, one Form C relay output, and one 12 V DC, 25 mA power output for a small external sensor. Each AP9810 uses one universal I/O port on the host card.
Which cards does it work with?
Cards with a universal I/O port: the AP9641 Network Management Card 3 with environmental monitoring, the AP9613 Dry Contact I/O SmartSlot Card, and the earlier AP9631 and AP9635 Network Management Card 2. It does not fit the AP9640 or the Easy UPS AP9544, which have no such port.
Can I use it to get dry contacts on a Smart-UPS that only has one SmartSlot?
Yes, and it is often the best answer. Fit an AP9641 for network management and plug an AP9810 into one of its universal I/O ports. You get SNMP, HTTPS and PowerChute Network Shutdown from the card and two inputs plus a relay from the accessory, with the second port still free for a temperature sensor.
What can the relay switch?
Signalling loads: 1 A at 30 V DC normal switching, 2 A DC maximum switching and carrying current, 60 V DC maximum, 30 W maximum. That covers alarm panel inputs, BMS digital inputs, beacons and PLC inputs. Do not put mains or equipment load through it.
Does it add contacts to an AP9613?
Yes. The AP9613 has four inputs and six relays on its own; Schneider's manual for that card says adding AP9810 accessories lifts both counts to eight, using the card's two universal I/O ports.
Does it work on a Rack ATS or Rack PDU sensor port?
Schneider publishes those ports as accepting the AP9335T and AP9335TH sensors and does not list the AP9810 against them, so we do not claim it. Tell us the exact Rack ATS or PDU model and we will confirm before you order.
What is in the box, and how is it set up?
The accessory, the network cable that connects it to the host's universal I/O port, and documentation. Your own contacts connect to screw terminals on the accessory. Once plugged in, the host card detects it and the two inputs and the relay appear in that card's web interface, where you name each zone, set normal open or normal closed, and choose what happens on a state change - an e-mail, an SNMP trap, a log entry or, on a UPS card, a shutdown sequence. No separate software or power supply is needed; the accessory is fed from the host port.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every APC AP9810 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC by Schneider Electric backs the AP9810 with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
