Yealink UVC40 E2 vs Poly Studio USB: Is It Time to Switch?
For a small or huddle room, switching from an HP Poly Studio USB to a Yealink UVC40 E2 can make sense on cost and simplicity: the Yealink has a matching 4K, 120° camera, more microphones and a lower price, at S$645.00 at SourceIT (listed 25 Oct 2026; the Poly Studio USB is quoted on request). But the two are not aimed at quite the same room. HP positions the Poly Studio USB for medium rooms of 6 to 9 people and certifies it for Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet, with stereo speakers and DirectorAI framing; Yealink positions the UVC40 E2 for small and huddle rooms and does not claim certification. If your Poly Studio USB works and your rooms need certified devices, there is no reason to switch. For new small rooms on a budget, the Yealink is the more economical choice.

Figures from Yealink's UVC40 E2 product page and July 2026 datasheet, and HP's Poly Studio USB spec sheet (842D4AA) and product page. HP's Singapore page quotes 4.5 m pickup and its spec sheet 4.6 m.
Camera and framing: who sees the room better?
Both capture 4K at 30 fps across a 120° view, so their coverage in a small room is similar. The difference is the framing intelligence. HP's DirectorAI offers several modes, including group framing, speaker framing and presenter tracking for someone standing at the screen, and a Perimeter setting that ignores people outside the room's glass walls. That last feature matters in Singapore offices with glass-fronted meeting rooms facing a busy corridor. Yealink's UVC40 E2 lists Auto Framing and Speaker Tracking, plus Smart Area Exposure for faces against bright windows. Audio: more microphones vs stereo speakers
The UVC40 E2 has eight MEMS microphones rated by Yealink for 6 m pickup; the Poly Studio USB has a six-microphone array rated by HP for 4.6 m. On the listening side the Poly has stereo speakers rated at 90 dB, which is the better match for a medium room; the Yealink's 5 W speaker is sized for small rooms. If your room is at the larger end, the Poly's speakers will be noticed. Yealink offers VCM36-W wireless and VCM35 wired expansion microphones; HP offers the Poly Studio USB expansion microphone.
The Poly Studio USB is a medium-room bar with certification. The UVC40 E2 is a small-room bar with a lower price. Compare them on the room, not the spec sheet.
Certification and management
HP certifies the Poly Studio USB for Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. If your IT policy only allows certified peripherals, or you are standardising on Google Meet, that decides it: Yealink does not claim certification for the UVC40 E2 and does not name Google Meet. On management, Poly Lens covers the Poly Studio USB alongside other Poly headsets and phones, while Yealink RoomConnect and the Yealink Device Management Platform do the same for Yealink fleets. Stay with the platform your IT team already runs.
