The Cisco Codec Pro (CS-CODEC-PRO-K9), formerly the Webex Codec Pro, is the standalone codec at the heart of the Cisco Room Kit Pro. It is designed for AV integrators building boardrooms, auditoriums, classrooms and multipurpose rooms with multiple screens, cameras and microphones. This part number is the codec only; cameras, microphones, displays and the touch controller are selected separately. Cisco has announced end-of-sale for this model; see the Compatibility section for dates and the Cisco-named replacement.
Six video inputs, three outputs
The Codec Pro accepts six video sources at once: two HDMI inputs up to 1080p60, three HDMI inputs up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps, and one 3G-SDI/HD-SDI input up to 1080p60. Three HDMI outputs drive up to three screens: two at up to 4Kp60 and one at up to 4Kp30.
Professional audio connectivity
Eight Euroblock microphone/line inputs with 48V phantom power and six balanced line-level Euroblock outputs connect the codec to ceiling microphones, DSPs and amplifiers. HDMI and USB audio inputs are also available, and up to eight Cisco IP microphones can be connected via PoE. The Codec Pro has no built-in speakers or microphones.
Intelligent video and audio
With a Cisco Quad Camera the Codec Pro supports speaker tracking and group framing. Cisco also lists noise removal and people count among its AI features. Supported cameras include the Cisco Quad Camera, Cisco PTZ 4K Camera and Cisco Precision 60 Camera.
Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms and standards-based calling
The Codec Pro runs Cisco RoomOS and registers natively to Webex, to Cisco Unified CM, or to standards-based SIP and H.323 platforms. It also supports Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android, and can join Zoom meetings over SIP. Main video encode is up to 1080p60, with content up to 4K at 15 fps and 5-way embedded multipoint with the MultiSite option.
Built for the rack
The codec is 1.5 RU high and rack mountable, with optional rack ears that can be fitted so the connector panel faces forward or backward. Dedicated PoE ports power the Room Navigator touch controller and IP-based room peripherals.

Platforms
Cisco RoomOS with native Webex registration; Cisco Unified CM registration; standards-based SIP and H.323. Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android is supported. Zoom meetings can be joined over SIP.
Cameras
Cisco lists the Cisco Quad Camera, Cisco PTZ 4K Camera and Cisco Precision 60 Camera for the Room Kit Pro family. The Precision 60 Camera is available as a separate listing.
Microphones and control
Analogue microphones such as the Cisco Table Microphone with Euroblock plug connect to the Euroblock inputs. The Room Navigator touch controller connects to the dedicated PoE port.
Encryption
Standards-based media encryption (SRTP with AES-128-GCM or AES-256-GCM), plus H.323 and SIP point-to-point encryption (H.235 v3 and AES).
End-of-Sale notice
Cisco announced end-of-sale and end-of-life for the Codec Pro and Room Kit Pro on 16 February 2026. End-of-sale date: 19 May 2026. Last ship date: 17 August 2026. End of software maintenance releases: 18 May 2028. Last date of support: 31 May 2031. Cisco names the Cisco Codec Pro G2, Standalone (CS-CPRO-K9) as the migration product for CS-CODEC-PRO-K9.

Frequently Asked Questions — Cisco Codec Pro
Does the Codec Pro have built-in speakers or microphones?
No. It is a rack-mount codec. Audio is handled by external microphones (Euroblock, USB or Cisco IP microphones) and external speakers or amplifiers via the line outputs or HDMI.
Is a camera included?
No. CS-CODEC-PRO-K9 is the standalone codec. For a bundle with camera and touch controller, see the Room Kit Pro.
Does the Codec Pro output 4K?
Two HDMI outputs support up to 4Kp60 and one up to 4Kp30. Main call video is encoded at up to 1080p60, with content shared at up to 4K at 15 fps.
Can it be used with Microsoft Teams Rooms?
Yes. Cisco lists Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android as supported on the Codec Pro.
Is the Codec Pro still sold by Cisco?
Cisco’s end-of-sale date was 19 May 2026, with support until 31 May 2031. The Cisco-named replacement is the Codec Pro G2 (CS-CPRO-K9).
