90 W Ultra90 PoE++ for Demanding AV Endpoints
The NETGEAR GSM4212UX (M4250-10G2XF-PoE++) is a compact AV-over-IP switch with 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE++ ports, 2 additional Gigabit copper ports and 2 x 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks. Each PoE++ port delivers up to 90 W (802.3bt Ultra90, backward compatible with 802.3af/at) from a 720 W PoE budget — enough for PTZ cameras, displays, LED lighting and other high-draw AV devices.
Built for 1G AV over IP
NETGEAR engineered the M4250 for 1G AV over IP: rear-facing ports for clean rack cabling, front-facing port activity LEDs, and a 60 Gbps switching fabric with 44.64 Mpps throughput. It comes pre-configured to work out of the box, with NETGEAR IGMP Plus handling multicast between switches automatically.
AV GUI with Ready-Made Profiles
The dedicated AV web interface offers pre-configured profiles for Dante, Q-SYS, AES67, AVB, NVX, SVSI and NDI, so integrators can assign ports by colour-coded profile instead of writing configuration. AVB is supported with an electronic licence (licence required).
Quiet, Flexible Installation
Selectable fan modes (fanless, quiet or cool) let you balance acoustics against PoE load, and the 1U chassis mounts in a standard or recessed 19-inch rack or on VESA mounting points.

Compatibility & Software Support
AV User Interface
The M4250 ships with NETGEAR's AV web-based GUI, which uses colour-coded profile assignments so AV integrators can configure ports without deep IT knowledge. The standard IT web GUI (HTTPS), CLI (Telnet/SSH), SNMP/MIBs and sFlow are also available, and M4250 switches can be managed across installations with the NETGEAR Engage Controller.
Pre-Configured AV Profiles
NETGEAR publishes pre-configured Dante, Q-SYS, AES67 and AVB audio profiles; NVX, SVSI, Q-SYS, NDI and Dante video profiles; plus mixed audio/video/control profiles.
IGMP Plus, Auto-Trunk and Auto-LAG
NETGEAR IGMP Plus automates IGMP between switches so AV-over-IP multicast works out of the box without flooding the network. Auto-Trunk and Auto-LAG interconnect M4250 switches automatically in L2 topologies.
Typical Use
Small AV racks, meeting rooms, classrooms and live-event setups that need a few high-power PoE++ endpoints — PTZ cameras, displays, encoders/decoders — plus 10G uplinks to a larger M4250 or core switch.
