Built for AV over IP Racks
The NETGEAR M4250-10G2XF-PoE+ (GSM4212PX) is a member of NETGEAR's M4250 AV Line, engineered from the ground up for audio/video professionals and the AV over IP market. It combines 8 x 1G PoE+ ports, 2 additional 1G copper ports and 2 x 1G/10GBASE-X SFP+ fibre uplinks for 10G links to the core or between racks in a 1U chassis with a front display panel and all ports at the rear, for clean integration in AV racks — reversed mounting with ports at the front is also possible.
Pre-Configured AV Profiles
A dedicated, colour-coded AV web interface ships with built-in profiles: Dante, Q-SYS, AES67 and AVB for audio, and NVX, SVSI, Q-SYS, NDI, Kramer KDS, Aurora Multimedia, ZeeVee, Atlona, Dante and SDVoE for video. NETGEAR IGMP Plus, Auto-Trunk and Auto-LAG automate multicast, VLAN trunking and link aggregation as soon as M4250 switches are connected together.
PoE+ for Endpoints, Quiet in the Room
All 8 PoE+ ports deliver IEEE 802.3at power at up to 30 W per port from a 240 W PoE budget — enough for encoders, decoders, cameras, speakers and touch panels. Fan behaviour is selectable between fanless, quiet and cool modes, so the switch can sit in or near a meeting room without being heard.
Enterprise-Grade Switching
NETGEAR rates the GSM4212PX at 60 Gbps switching capacity and 44.64 Mpps throughput, with 16K MAC entries, a 16 Mb packet buffer, PTPv2 transparent clock and a common Layer 2 / Layer 3 switching engine with static and RIP routing and PIM multicast routing.

Dedicated AV web GUI (at the switch IP address on port 8080) with colour-based AV profiles. Built-in audio profiles: Dante, Q-SYS, AES67 and AVB. Built-in video profiles: NVX, SVSI, Q-SYS, NDI, Kramer KDS, Aurora Multimedia, ZeeVee, Atlona, Dante and SDVoE. Mixed audio/video/control profiles are also supported.
AV Protocols
NETGEAR IGMP Plus for automatic multicast across an M4250 / M4300 / M4350 / M4500 Layer 2 network; Auto-Trunk and Auto-LAG between M4250 switches; IEEE 1588 PTPv2 1-step end-to-end transparent clock; AVB (IEEE 802.1BA) — electronic licence required (NETGEAR activation key AVB4212PX-10000S), up to 256 streams per switch.
Management
Industry-standard CLI, NETGEAR IT web interface, SNMP, sFlow and RSPAN, with RADIUS and TACACS+ authentication. All M4250 switches can be managed from the NETGEAR Engage Controller.
